but cool_is_i , itz a good idea, but a bad execution. there's alot of things that appear to be flaws, for instance, like the towers on the edges of the pier, they seem to be floarting in midair, even though they arn't . and there isn't enough background to that pier. Make a shoreline, or some islands or something to make that ocean seem better. Changing the fog to would lessen the end of the world thing a bit, but i know that oceans do have a type of end of the world to them so...

Mr. Goblins is awsome. Actually looks like an ancient. It should replace the cruddy W33 ancients in the game :P

and childrec's airplane thing he had waz starting to look pretty awsome.. but i suppose, making the top of the aircraft is way easier than making the bottom..
it still pawned though

i cant find a way to show the perspective.
the towers you were talking about, are they the huts? or orc towers?
because the huts are floating [attached to the shipyard, but wanted to show the goblin ingenuity :D

the "end of the world " is the place where the Z far clipping clips off the rest of the map from your camera view.

In most cases, its EXTREMLY ugly, and makes your terrain appear flat.
in some cases, for instance, a view of the ocean, it can be tolerated.

and cool_is_i , i mean the Orc watch towers, they seem like they are floating on the water and on that peir, but maybe, making the end of the piers a bit more expansive? or loading it with " piles of junk " and " piles of treasrure " or spikes, to help draw attention away from that.

but thats just me, im not sure if other people notice it.
 
you can change the camera angle to something like 350 degrees to 5 degrees, and then make a thicker fog, and then put in a sky.

i think you should experiment with the envirnmental effects that the World editor provides, You are able to make good fog with these x and y combinations :

x = 0
y = 6000 - 12000
density = .6
color = 255 red, 255 green, 255 blue

and then you can add a sky, like the fogged sky would be good. but since your using a frozen kind of tileset, use blizzard sky, with a white fog.

and i really suggest changing the camera view.
you dont need to change the far clippping if you add hills, and change the camera view.

i use the this camera view often :

1)angle of attack = 358 ( or 0 )

2)far clipping = ( anywhere from 5000-10000 )

3)field of view = ( i use 20, but field of view is a bit hard to work with in order to look nice, try and experiment with this value)

4) distance = ( i usually use 600, but only for a field of view of 20. You may want 1000 or higher, but only if your using a 70 field of view.)


thiz stuff is hard to explain :P
 
That kicks ass RunBa. Just hide the end of the map and put in some more details, and tint those barrels to like 10/10/10.

Famous, I would like the statue if its pose wasn't so static. It looks like a giant egyptian drawing in the middle of a forest. And those arches that look like they will be a city look like crap.

Here's a WIP of my actual entry. I haven't started constructing shit yet.

added a light house [coudent add light effect, because it wassent visible in the white fog :|] should i remove it?
also got rid of end or world :)

Im not a very good at doing this sort of stuf, but it sounds fun. Im in!
I will probleby add my "construction" 21-22
 
hum... not really.. you can do what ever you want.. you can use rocks.. wood... shrub.... doodads... haven,t you seen the other submission so far? like my Anciant protector.. or FamousSpeaker's scary face? like right now i'm making my infernal out of rocks.. and glacier.. and imolation attachment.. so ...

i think your totally wrong Void :D
 
ah dude don't quit.. i learned to rise doodads.. at the beginning of the competition only... so you just have to try ... D: cause than .. this competition wont be as epic at will be with

childeric, Void, /Naze, FamousSpeaker, raid100, you and all the Badass terrainers ...
 
cool_is_i, a WIP means Work In Progress. And about your terrain, you need to remove the blinding amount of lamps you have. It almost becomes a blur and it distracts from the docks. :P

So many awesome terrains. It's a shame the ancient protector had to be cast away. It was beautifully done. :P I look forward to seeing the end resukts of all this. A lot of great things are coming from this. ^ ^

and btw i don't have a wip of the infernal for now.. cause it's not as easy as the anciant protecter .. i like changed it 3 times for now.. and i'm aiming maybe for a second change :D and that's only the structure.. so no flames added yet..etc..:ugly:
