Especially because I will be working on this and the Wc3C contest concurrently, so I can submit one mini-race for 2 competitions.

I dunno. I'd like to see if more people are actually interested in this contest. So far it's been the same people showing interest, and they all seem to want mini.

Thats one of the reasons. And races with a lot of units are annoying to play.

First and foremost, it does take more time, which will result in less entries. Also, mini-races are more fun to play, easier to make as it would naturally require less imported material and finally, it can be used for campaigns or so.

By saying I "endorsed" these options, I wasn't saying I wanted everyone to agree with me on that. I was saying that, should it come to a point where we have to decide, I would provide arguments for those points.

Does Full tech mean 4 heroes? It would probably be better to set a minimum number of buildings, units and heroes to the contest.

Oh, and what about teams? I'd think people should be allowed to pair up, but no more than two. Working alone will be allowed as well.

Considering the maximum is three, that's probably a good idea.

You only have to create three heroes instead of four.

And the techtree should be like Wc3 standard ones, with:
-First tier melee unit-------------\
-First tier ranged unit-------------\ > Barracks
-Third tier powerful melee unit------\

Just an example based on human techtree.

You can only have four out of those three heroes active though. Heroes take a lot of time to make, so three is plenty.

The more people you have, the better chance of people getting bored, not being able to coordinate, or cooperate. It's a whole new can of worms.

That being said, making a full techtree is a pretty large undertaking; so having some team capability is appreciated.

but then theres a certain disadvantage to some soloers, since they dont know how to make jass spells or triggered spells in general, so they look lame compared to everyone else. and also the fact that the modelers have models they keep for themselves in their greedy ways and teyll make their race look kooler.
