Skeletland 2.7.1e
–Exclusive to Reforged–
Map Type: Hero Defense
Players: 1–10
Context
In Limbo, chaos reigns. The Human Resources department has collapsed after millennia of backlog, and enraged spirits are planning to destroy everything.
Faced with imminent rebellion, the Director summons his skeletal champions—warriors forged in the fires of the underworld, the last hope to prevent annihilation.
Explanation
Players will take on the role of the “skeletal champions,” summoned by the “Director” (our allied antagonist) to defend the underworld’s HR branch from the siege led by the “Union of suffering Souls” (S.S.U.).
Features & Gameplay
- Choose from 12 different skeletal champions and customize them with a class to boost their power even further.
- Build your own talent setup (equippable items) and enhance them with additional bonuses. The combinations are endless! Well… almost.
- Explore diverse mechanics and synergies.
- Upgrade the base with defensive and support structures.
- Defend the base from endless waves of enemies and face random events every few waves.
- Don’t underestimate your enemies! The Elites: stronger, more relentless, with unique traits—and above all, variety.
- Surviving 40 waves of enemies.
Greetings, reader!
I’ve finally decided to upload this map I’ve been working on for about a year. It’s the culmination of countless hours of effort and content creation (with help from AI). It might look like just another run-of-the-mill “hero defense,” but it features innovative, different, and—at least to me—interesting mechanics that will push players to replay and truly engage with the game in order to improve. Because of this, players may need to replay several times before they can actually win a match.
Constant Randomness
The original idea behind
Skeletland was to create a sort of “roguelike,” which eventually evolved into a “hero defense.” Those initial concepts were preserved and applied to features such as:
- Randomized enemy spawns: Enemies never appear in the same place or in the same quantity—they’re generated randomly.
- Elite enemy probability: During enemy waves, there’s a chance for “elite” enemies to appear (marked by bright colors). These are stronger variants with special abilities or traits. The spawn rate of elites increases based on the number of players.
- Probability-based talents: One of the game’s core elements is “talents”, equippable items with passive abilities that have a chance to activate whenever the player performs a specific action (as described on the item).
- Random events: After a certain number of waves are cleared, random events are triggered. These can even repeat.
Final Notes
The original language of this map is Spanish, but it has been translated for posting here. It’s currently 98% translated, with the only exceptions being certain images that appear on screen (specifically a character who says phrases to players, but these have no gameplay impact or meaningful information). The other exception is in the game data within the map editor—but during gameplay, players can rest assured that everything is translated.
Additionally, I want to mention that the game includes credits for everyone who contributed to the content, testing, assets, and development (found in the “Quests” section of the game).
Anyway… this is the first map I’ve decided to post on
HiveWorkshop, and I hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
