Map Description


"Scholomance – v0.1"
is a dark atmospheric template map inspired by the iconic Scholomance from World of Warcraft

This version was made mainly for campaign creators and custom map makers who may want to use a ready-made Scholomance setting as a foundation for their own projects.

There are no triggers, no playable systems, and no advanced mechanics included only the terrain, environment, and general decorative work meant to capture the cursed and necromantic atmosphere of the dungeon.

With the little time I had, I focused on making something visually appealing and hopefully useful to others. Even in this early version, I believe it can serve as a solid base for anyone who wants to build a mission, cinematic, or custom adventure inside Scholomance.

A credits list in the map description with the names of the authors whose resources you've used is mandatory. That includes models, skins, icons, custom spells, systems. Also, sounds, music and everything outside this site.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a bit of action when testing it in-game, aha.
It actually reminded me of Sevenblood's map—did you take some inspiration from it?
It seems perfect for a short mission. I’d definitely encourage others to make use of it!

Do you plan to create more?

EDIT: Perhaps uploading a separate version without triggers or models would make it easier for others to import and use. Also, there are no screenshots :c

Yes, the map was completely inspired by the new mission that's part of the SevenBlood campaign in the undead storyline. However, I honestly didn’t know what was considered canon until now, because my knowledge of WoW is almost zero. Still, I really liked that map — it was quite simple, and I knew I could remake it in a better way. It's a shame I don’t really know how to work with triggers like Seven does, to make it functional. I also didn’t realize that maps with models and triggers were harder to export. At some point, I always end up creating something but give up because of the difficulty with triggers, and I end up posting it on forums as unfinished projects. Did you like my map pathing and terrain? : )
