Back to topic...I was gonna edit my post, but it was deleted and -5 neg repped
So i attached the icons here:

Darker ------ Old one

I removed a bit of the shading to make it easier to figure out what it is...(the first one)
which looks better?

Are we allowed to open models from wc3 to 3ds max, set up lightning and edit the model then bring it to photoshop to further edit it and finally make an icon out of it? lol

well i brought the model of crypt into 3ds max and edited it there. then i brought it to photoshop and further edit it. not allowed? EDIT: what dansaDisco said

Well...the models use existing textures...so that's some way CnP. But since it isn't too poorly edited, I say it is allowed.

By the way, looks great.

EDIT: You should post the just-imported from 3dsmax icon if you want me to believe you did this whole thing. Also a background terrain wip would be good.

Even tho i minorly edited the ground texture, i did not make it. i used one that comes with 3ds max. However I can make my own if necessary.

It looks nice, but what is the difference between opening up warcraft and editing a screenshot, or opening up 3ds max and editing a screenshot? Its an art contest not a modeling contest. take a photo of a sculpture is not the same as making a painting, if that clarifies it

Well for the impale icon the only thing i did not create was the crypt lord.

Well.. we only got 2 days, sure I've made 4 icons, but they're crappy. So I'm withdrawing from the contest if that's ok. (besides, the 4 icon I've made are totally of different style...)

The last 3 icons posted (Phoenix, Death and Decay, and Vulcano) were very nice icons. Only to the Phoenix icon, I suggest you have a dark red background color or some other background color to fill that empty space, like the color below the Phoenix' wings.
