Pheonix Competition #3 - Elements

hmm...I thought that it was so crowded that you couldn't tell what's happening in there. But 'guess I was wrong.
Anyway I made another one, "Summon Kraken" or something...

Which one should I use as final?
Or can we have more than 4 in total? 'Cause in the rule it says 4 to "successfully" complete this trial, so I'm guessing we can have more? Or not...

Yeah. The tsunamy looks like some wc3 icons that you can't guess what it is when you first see it. After few seconds, it is cleared up. But the last one is awesome, though not very wc3-ish.

I think the tsunami is way cooler than the krakken.

Damn, they're both quite lovely. The tsunami brings out the "might" of the element more though. But still, great job on both of them.

Next icon is done, I guess. I don't like it a whole bunch, I suppose it turned out decent, though. Fire themed, flames engulfing a shield (or surrounding, whatever). This one is in 512 again.

Yes, you can have more than 4, just have to work about with judging in a more calculated manner thats all.

Iv already stated in the chatroom, your icons dont have to have all elements, they can just all be one element set, or a set of 2 or a set of all the elements.

Yeah, I had no inspiration for air so I went for that spell in Magic Carpet, with that ball of lightning that struck all your enemies with lightning bolts.

That's still a reasonable amount of time. I keep thinking in my timezone, which is 12 or 13 hours ahead of GMT.

would I be to much of a bitch if I'd ask anyone of you to convert my icons to blp?
I recently reinstalled windows so all the registry stuff of the programs already installed on another partition got messed up of course, so the image extractor and all the wc3 related things don't work anymore and I can't find my wc3 cd's. So...pretty please? Anyone?
Or I could just attach TGA's?

Well, either do it yourself, after you fixed your registry, or attach all icons in one zip.

You better know how to compress them well then And I think it is better to use TGAs (duh) since they are not compressed.

All i did was convert them into blp and nothing else¬¬
i didnt do the passive ones though only BTN and DISBTN

or just use warcraft3 viewer.... it works olmost every time

TDR you can set Edit > Properties > Texture Quality in magos, then load image into magos, go to Texture Manager, right click the texture and export it, set .blp as an extension. The best way to convert I think.

This applies to everyone, you can export 80% quality BLPs and 50% quality BLPs, so they take a lot less space.

I just did my 4th icon, which in all honesty is pretty shit, but I needed 4. I'd say probably the best of the icons I've done in this Phoenix Trial is probably the water-themed one, but even that is nothing compared to the other icons in this competition. Oh well, at least I learned from the experience.
