Up to ten observers watch two players face off in Chess. Observers and players can change places. One player can occupy both sides.
V.4-A Mod by SaguratuS - Visual Changes / Minor Code
ChangesFixed by Scorpion-King after a patch broke the map.
Approved for conservation's sake until any of the authors disagree.
As I also wrote in the private conversation, evidence trying to contact the authors should be put in the map thread descriptions.
very well done, mate, i like it. the game enforces correct movement, detects check and checkmate. Works properly
Things i dont like:
the chess pieces models are properly designed but somewhat lack shading and detail.
If I rotate the camera with Insert/Del then i coul not find a control to bring the camera back to proper view. I found arrows keys + scroll control the cam
A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
Why not just post this in the original resource thread? Whenever there are multiple resouce threads for the same map, it always makes it confusing to me to figure out which version is the latest or most stable version of the original.
Peppar is the original Author and is not a member of the community. There is no way to contact.
SaguratuS is the one who kept the map going when it stopped working after in newer versions. Also not a member of the Community.
Scorpion-King is the editor who has provided a fix years ago and is also not apart of the community.
These authors have long since left the Warcraft III community, and they were not ever apart of the Hive Community.
I merely uploaded a working version for Classic Versions of Warcraft III. This was back in 2010.
This version is an Unauthorized version since Peppar never gave permission to edit the map. Edits were made to simply have a working version.
An upload was made to since since there has been no working version available. I take no credit for any work done.
If I could contact Peppar I would most definitely do so.

Not being a member of this community does not mean you should not search for them over the internet somehow first.
But if Pepper never gave permission, explicitly, then...

Understood.
As stated previously, I am not the original author, nor take credit for this working version. I simply uploaded a working version from 2010 because I am simply trying to preserve a great map.
The Hive for me has always been about preserving what we love about Warcraft III. Ever since it was wc3sear.ch, People would upload things to preserve them. https://www.hiveworkshop.com/repositories/maps.564/?authors[0]=Public+Resource+Provider is a perfect example of stuff being uploaded to preserve them. They weren't done by the original author but uploaded here for other users to enjoy. Nature's Call - Return of the Dragon is one of those resource as an example. The original author was Darky27 aka @Darky29, but They vanished from the Warcraft III Community, not just the Hive Community.
I completely understand wanting permissions and had the author been active in ANY Warcraft III Community, I will gladly attempt to contact them.
Per previous discussion/comments above, I'm not sure what else I would need to do from this point. Perhaps the original author will come back to the Warcraft III community, maybe see this on Hive?
