That is my personal goal to reach with this project, actually. Right now, PvP (Well... player versus bot is more like it) is very basic and requires very little skill at all. However, we're working on PvE a bit more than PvP since PvE is needed to meet the standards of PvP. :p
Balancing classes will be the toughest part, and what we may focus on after the PvP part is worked on a lot. After we finally believe that the classes are balanced, we might start making battlegrounds such as Warsong Gulch (Or custom ones instead) for PvP testing areas. I honestly think it'd be a great way to demonstrate how the PvP is in Wc3:WoW. I'm sure many of you agree.

But all you PvE fanatics must not worry! We do plan on giving the instances their original hype and entertaining strategies to conquer them. Boss fights will most likely be modified as well to be more... strategic. Simply rushing all bosses won't get you far in Wc3:WoW - or so we plan.

Fixing the bugs is important, but Character visibility is just so awesome. Once again, good luck with the project and keep it up . I'd help, but i suck at everything.

Lol, supporting us with feedback and helpful enough for those who truely aren't good at anything. :p

Character Visibility is currently our lucky winner and is what we're focusing on strongly at the moment. We will fix a couple bugs along the way of its development, but not it isn't much of a big deal to us at the moment since there's just so much to get done. I really want to get a lot of OBVIOUS bugs fixed before the Closed BETA since those are the only bugs that've been reported so far.

Anyway, thanks for the support!

Hey Craka, would you be able to tell us what would most likely be in the first open-beta? I might of missed one, I only joined 6 months ago, if thats the case then whats going to be in the next one? Will it be online as well? Again if I missed one with the online feature point it out please D:.

Also, I understand you won't be adding in BC stuff except for some spells and ability which I understand. The normal WoW alone for WC3 is overly-fantastic enough. However, what about the caverns of time? They're quite enjoyable and they could be worked into WC3:WoW. You could even add a few more instances/raids to it, I'm sure players wouldn't mind as it only adds to content and some will really get a thrill to relive some more of those great battles in the WC universe.

At our official forum we have a thread stickied called "Upcoming BETA Change Log" in the Project Discussion area. Read what you can there. There's also a WIP Features thread there as well. Be assured that not all things on the Upcoming BETA Change Log may be 100% true, as things are changing after the revival of the mod.

What's Going On?

We're making pretty good progress lately. Saitek009 is currently working on the Inventory and Equipment system as well as working on an attachment system which is most likely the one originally created by Wc3:WoW fan, Doron. Saitek009 says that progress is moving along, but the systems won't be completed or be ready for testing for a few weeks since there is still much to do and to get done. However, Saitek009 claims that he may have Work-In-Progress screenshots of the system(s) by the end of this weekend or next weekend. Only time will tell.

Although the systems are being developed at a stable and steady pace, we will most likely not have much of the attachment system working properly yet (visually) as we are still making a large list of attachments. So although screenshots will be provided, do not be suprised if equipped items (According to the Equipment System) do not appear on the character. But do not be alarmed, as we do plan on having the items become visible on your character(s).

Something I was thinking about earlier this afternoon was if Player-Bots will be premade models of characters with armor and weapons already, or if their armor and weapons show depending on what is equipped. This is something I had not thought of before right away as my mind was (And possibly still is) clouded with the business of planning other important features and gameplay aspects. And my decision isn't totally final yet, but I am guessing that at first, bots will be premade hero models running around. But as time passes and more important features and systems are being completed, I will have our development team begin working on making Player-Bots have their own equipment system and possibly an inventory system to allow them to choose their gear for different situations and maybe just for looks. It'll be a tough task since it'll be giving bots more of a mind of their own, but it'll be worth it.

Its a somewhat small yet big behind-the-scenes kind of implementation. Its a small detail to the reality of the mod, however, it'll require lots of work and give a small feel of the bots being a bit more realistic than before. A transition I think we'll all be willing to make.

Any comments?

That would be really cool and really realistic when you get to the higher level instances as most "hardcore" players have different equipment arranges for different types of environments, Enemies, situations and instances. It would definitely give a more real feel.

Its always great to hear behind the scenes stuff :D Whats the chances for an open-beta by the September Holidays?

Perhaps... I honestly doubt it since there is a lot of terrains to complete, but if ~Void~'s progress comes faster and greater than expected, then there may be a chance. However, do not count on it.

About the equipment system:
Exactly! I want bots' equipment to reflect on where you/they are and what kind of situation they may be going for (PvP: Ganking and BGs ; PVE: Grinding and Dungeons) will definitely give each bot their own sort of personality as far as their items go and how they are used.

I don't want all bots to be totally unstoppable with ultra leet skills since they'll be computers who can nail down each cooldown and spell perfectly, (Some will though, especially level 60s) but they will have realistic strategies and most likely jump around while fighting as an example. More than half of the pvp fights, at least either you or your opponent jumps at least once.

New Orgrimmar Grunt

Say hello to the new Grunt model which will be used as a Horde Guard in places such as Orgrimmar, Razor Hill, and The Barrens.

ogrimarorceliteguard091ly1.jpg

Model was created by Ham Ham. We'll be searching for a talented skinner to reskin the model to look more like the real one in WoW.

In other news, our forum will be temporarily down for a couple hours due to it being under heavy maintenance.

Um, how are you actually going to do the online bit? Make it a single player campaign? Because the World Editor cannot be that advanced (well, in multiplayer anyway) to change maps in multiplayer. You would actually need a doodad that would look like a wall. And even then you couldn't walk on it. Well correct me if I'm wrong.

New Development Team!

p.gif
rogress has been moving along nicely, however, we are short a few people and can use a helping hand. And in our time of need, Condemned Entertainment has decided to emerge from the shadows of the Apocalypse mod and make itself an official development team by merging itself not only with the 'Pirate Tag!' development team, but also with the WC3:WoW Team!

c.gif
ondemned Entertainment doesn't have much of a background, as it has been keeping itself secret while working on Apocalypse. But recently, they noticed that WC3:WoW needed a hand after its revival and they believe that now is a perfect time to exploit itself and help us create Wc3:WoW faster. Why did Condemned Entertainment choose to help develop Wc3:WoW as their first priority (Besides Apocalypse)? Wc3:WoW is one of the most popular WarCraft III mods and is also one of the most anticipated. Condemned Entertainment believes that affiliating themselves closely with such a project shall surely be rewarding in many ways, besides with the experience of developing it.

w.gif
hat do we get out of it? A few helping hands will definitely go a long way for Wc3:WoW. Getting everything we can done as quick and efficient as possible while in an organized fasion is something we simply cannot refuse at a time like this. What do they get out of it? They hope that a good portion of our fan base will curiously venture to their website and forum and perhaps make themselves interested in their purpose and other mods which they are developing. Condemned Entertainment's plan is to develop a few great mods for WarCraft III and perhaps other games as well and then begin developing a game of their own from scratch (Without WarCraft III!).

More information soon to come...

We can only hope that he can.

After the joining of Condemned Entertainment, progress has convincingly sped up. Modelers are working on model attachments and the Tauren player model is now being in development as well. Saitek009 is also still actively triggering the Equipment, Inventory, and Bags systems for Wc3:WoW. Screenshots might be provided by the end of this weekend, but there is an expected slight delay to come some time during this weekend.

Operator has also returned to Wc3:WoW and has been regiven the task to create the Item Drop System (When trying to drop an item, it asks you if you wish to destroy it or keep it in your inventory) and the Looting System (Allows players to loot corpses of killed PvE targets). I'll try to keep you all updated!

Good to hear that Operator has returned. Now if only some more would, ie. Iron Warrior. I just remembered his Paladin demo map. It was brilliant.

I'm most likely going to remove ~Void~ from the team very, very soon. He's done nothing and as far as I know, he hasn't even started yet. He's just delaying us and so he will be removed within a few days if he continues to be inactive and stays out-of-touch from me.

Only Custom Models Like from WoW?
Can you make Pics of the Classes

They are perhaps going to imitate the models and make hair, skin color, face etc attachable so make the unit look more cool.
I don't think he'll release anything anytime soon. Once they've fixed some more bugs, added more features and gotten some more areas fixed/done. After that I presume he'll release a open beta.

Did you not just read what I said? There will not be Drenai or Blood Elves that are playable ever, ever, ever, ever! They are one of the reasons the expansions of WoW are failing, plus, I hated them both anyway. This is a 100% definite choice and my mind will not be changed. Case closed.

Wc3:WoW's closed BETA launched on Friday evening and so far the results are good. We're expecting much more positive bug report results to come around next weekend and the weekend after that. There is another closed BETA which will include a 'finished' version of the Inventory System, Equipment System, Attachment System, and a couple other minor systems to help those systems work properly. Saitek009 will take a month long break from working on Wc3:WoW after the next closed BETA release. I predict it'll be a poor month for Wc3:WoW's development, but I will try to keep the pace moving at all costs.

Av3n, our only reliable and dependable spells and abilities creator for Wc3:WoW, has finally decided to quit both Condemned Entertainment and Wc3:WoW. The loss of Av3n is quite severe and we'll need a replacement very, very soon if we are to keep the pace moving forward. I will be searching extensively for skilled abilities/spells creators and experienced ones to replace him. Av3n was making spells for both the Priest and Warrior class... now we're at a loss here.

Wc3WoW does not use WarSoc, it might, though im not 100% sure, require a whole rebuild of Wc3WoW. So far, it is only 1 player campaign. Wc3WoW may be very far from Multiplayer if the team has to redo the whole game.

Although multiplay with actual players may not be finished, there are still bots, and bot commands to be used with the bots.

Crake_J does consider using it but it'll take a very long time till it works in multiplayer.

hmm so its not in the game triggers ATM or has he not set up the server for it to play because i remember reading someone who was working on either WC3: WoW or Warsoc saying it needs to be scripted into every trigger.

According to MindWorX, we'll have to remake more than just abilities. We'll have to redo all systems, abilities, quests, everything! Even the movement and attacks of units. It'll be even harder than it is now with the World Editor. So yes, it will be more difficult indeed and will take longer to do. But the outcome will be quite rewarding, we believe.

There's only one amazing JASSer who works on Wc3:WoW, and that is Saitek009. He's been working hard and non-stop for nearly two years and he's finally decided to take a month-long break from working. He's going on vacation this summer and feels that it would be best for Wc3:WoW because he fears he may become bored or sick of working with Wc3:WoW. Right now, me and Saitek009 are the only two who really work. The others work occassionally and this is something I hope to change soon. It'll be tough finding someone to fill in for Saitek009 while he is gone, but in the meantime, I'll find some modelers and texture artists to begin crackin' down on Wc3:WoW again to improve the looks of characters and terrain to impress you all some more.
