If speaking about commercial succes , yes , that wasn't a mistake. But they ruined the game. The original. Instead of making Warcraft cards , they made World of Warcraft cards. Instead of making Warcraft film , they're makig World of Warcraft film. See ? Personally , to me , WoW is an abomination to the series. I grew up with Orcs and Humans. Starcraft and Diablo were the second faves in my computer. Atleast Starcraft isn't going to be MMORPG. While Warcraft is. That's why I sometimes hate Blizzard.

Just means they have more money to invest in the development of new games such as Sc2, D3 & eventually war4.

They got loads of them. I could build another empire state building out of money they have already , and they had even before WoW was released. But "Why make another stupid strategy with load of fans , if we have a huge load of nerdy 10-years old no-life bastards who are paying as 15-dollars a month ?" They ruined the series. There's no way for another , not to mention they don't want to make it , as long as WoW brings them money. 1000000x15 = 15000000$/month.

Actually I don't think World of Warcraft ruins anything. If it did then they could just skip all what happened in World of Warcraft and continue the story-line in Warcraft IV. So I'm Ok with both.

Skip ??? That would be stupid. The storyline is , in many ways , not good for a strategy anymore. And the devs are statisfied with no-lifers giving them cash , why do they need us ?

i think that WoW doesnt have an ACTUAL story, since its a MMORPG. WoW's flow in the story could be skipped, and there could be another Warcraft starting from the Arthas wielding the Crown, but I don't think that Blizzard would do it at all, it would be completely blurred by WoW. If it could be done, it would be done by fans...and just a bit of modding.

WoW basically is WCIV, without a storyline, an editor... fun gaming... fun multiplay-

Yeah they screwed up. It's a good turnout for them, I bought it and hated it from the time of installation. 12gb+ of wasted space.

WoW has no storyline, oh other then the Eredar falling from the sky and the blood elves making a massive town overnight.

If another Warcraft RTS is made, please god let them realise there mistake and give us an original story for once in our lives. Something that WoW doesn't impact the story of and something that doesn't impact the story of WoW. That way all the noobs over there won't complain that an RTS destroyed their 'amazing' gaming experience.

Actually they're an evolved form of Eredar... which I wonder. Or vice versa, but it's crazy in... the how many year gap in time between WCIII and WoW... lets say it's about 50 they grew tentacley beards, nice skin tone, moo moo legs... What did they hit a reactor in space?

WoW

Yep, the playable Draenei's in wow left Azeroth many years before Wc3 to escape their relatives, the Eredar. I really truly HATE the Draenei in wow, they are ugly and not cool as they were in wc3(one of my fav-races). I mean, look at Akama!

Anyway, wow ruined the story completely, with bosses that shouldn't be killed such as illidan and no story whatsoever, just that the burning crusade suddenly felt that they should attack again since the last time went so great, and the horde and alliance just broke through the demon gate and conquered outland.

What...Is...That...Supposed...To...Mean?
I hope that blizz will to a Wc4, but erase the "story" from wow.:slp:

WoW is a mindless grinding game but its amazing visuals and source of escapism and means of communication captivates millions of players all over the world. I myself would play the game if it were more like Warcraft instead of an MMORPG. Warcraft 4 would never happen because if you owned blizzard, would you rather rake up tons of cash from an already successful game or would you please a perhaps smaller majority of players who would want a Warcraft 4? I would personally love to see a Warcraft 4 but it just won't happen.

Those dreanei are a different kind of dreanei, not the same ones in Outland. When Outland was changing, so did a big flock of dreanei, so the uneffective ones kinda abandoned the chaning ones or "lost ones" Until recently.

It wasn't a mistake but that doesn't make it less of a shitty game.

Agreed... I mean , no-lifers (i don't say everybody who plays wow is no-lifer) like mmorpg's , such as the shity Linage 2 (look at the dwarwen males and females...) etc... The only mmorpg I found somewhat enjoying was Guild Wars Nightfall..

I find MMORPG's and Pornography quite similiar , they're both cheap and quick source of money from a bunch of people.... And most of them are success.

Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce told VG247 as Games Convention that a fourth WarCraft game could be a next project for the firm, provided one of the company’s current teams was interested in making it.

“If there’s a team that’s passionate about doing another WarCraft RTS, then that’s definitely something we would consider,” he said.

Don’t get dressed up in your favourite orc costume just yet, though: Blizzard’s major development units are a tad busy at the moment.

“It’s nothing that we’re working on right now,” Pearce assured.

“We have development teams working on Wrath of the Lich King, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and when those teams are all off the projects they’re working on, they’ll be intimately involved in the the discussions about what’s next.”

Just imagine WarCraft IV, eh? Just imagine that.

Hehe im stunned.

I'm a bit Lol at people here going like "Wc3 is definitly their best creation yet"

Well DUH, everyone here thinks that. This is a Warcraft III modding site, I for one think World of Warcraft was their "Best" creation because it got them filthy fuckin stickin rich! But in terms for actual gameplay, ya... Wc3.

Warcraft 4!

This is a guess, but on the blizzard employment page it has "unannounced" and blizzard has already announced All the games new versions. such as Star Craft 2 Diablo III WoW: Wotlk, but not warcraft. we can only expect that that is actually warcraft 4 hiding in the blizzard entertainment page.

Warcraft 4 possibilty?

I was searching the internet and found this on VGB:

Blizzard’s VP of game design, Rob Pardo, was asked about the possibility of the developer creating the next Warcraft 4 real-time strategy (RTS) game in the popular series. While the MMORPG World of Warcraft has over 10 million subscribers, the franchise started out in the RTS genre, so will it be returning to its RTS roots? In an interview from last year he answered:

“Yeah, of course there’s a chance,” he confirmed. “The way that we develop things, each time a development team becomes available, because they’re done with creating the games that they’ve been doing, they have a lot of say over what their next game is. So what it would take is for one of our teams to decide that they want to make Warcraft RTS and of course, there’ll be some talk about doing that and I’m sure after StarCraft 2 ships, it will be one the ideas on the table for that team to do, but that’s pretty far off in the future and it would really be determined by a combination of the dev team and the company leadership.”

Mr. Pardo continued: “I think that one of the things that makes us ultimately successful as a company is that we’re more lead by our game-making decisions and not so much by business decisions, which is one of the reasons why this question used to be the StarCraft question. Back when we did StarCraft, we did Brood War, and everyone thought they were amazing games; they were successful and I used to get all these questions like, “Why are you doing another Warcraft RTS, shouldn’t you be doing StarCraft?” Well Warcraft was what the team wanted to make, they were burned out on the StarCraft universe, that was the game they wanted to make and as far as Warcraft goes, we love the universe – it’s an amazingly successful universe. If we want to go back and do it, maybe we will, maybe we won’t.”

But then again, it could be a stupid rumor some cheapskate made up to get us all excited, which wouldn't surprise me as this was from June 15 of 2008.

Here's the page just to prove it: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2008/06/15/warcraft-4-release-far-in-the-future.htm

What do you want in Warcraft 4?

I haven't seen a thread talk about this yet, but than again I haven't been here in a while. What do you want in Warcraft 4? Please, this isn't about what story you want, so don't talk about that. What are some things you want to see in Warcraft 4, like gameplay, graphics wise, Map editor wise... Yea, we got quite a while before the game comes out but, hey, it gives us plenty of time to think of what we want in WC4.

1. I would like to see a faster paced action game that still revolves around heroes.
2. The same 4 factions from WC3.
3. I would like them to add another faction with each expansion.
4. Two expansions.
5. Naval Warfare.
6. A better and more simple Map Editor which is expected.
7. Darker tone- story and graphics wise, yet I doubt they will do that, so I'm not counting on it.
8. A Market system kind of like Age of Empires.
9. Random generated terrain which includes trees..., in the Editor for people who are lazy, like me, sometimes.
10. I would like to see trees or mushrooms as something that is added with the terrain like it was in WC2 instead of it being a doodad. It would make things easier that way. However, I would still like to have trees be a doodad as well.
11. Decals or logos, like what they're doing for SC2.
12. A Higher cap, however, not as high as SC2 or it kind of takes the whole point of heroes away.
13. More team colors to choose from including black and white.

Well, thats all I got so far. What do you guys want?

WoW will eventually come to an end. You do realize that they are making another MMO, right? Why? To replace WoW. The MMO is suppose to be a whole new franchise as well. See, there is still room for WC4.

Blood Elves joining the Horde, High Elves being accepted into the Alliance, and so on.
I actually wanna see if some of the Theramore residents are pissed off about Admiral Proudmoore being killed, and High Elves joining them for the first time, and some other races as well. Well I was very interested in Rexxar's Campaign so yah.

I really love the Blood Elves and High Elves. I hope they have a battle as well, and i hope for the Goblins, Ogres, and Forest Trolls join the Horde like they did in Warcraft II.
