OOC: The Gates are only able to be used with Chozo command codes, requiring the proper DNA code along with it. So, you can't exactly open and close a gate. Subspace does that automatically when the object reaches the end :/ But, as the gate is aimed at Shakuras, and the missile was angled, the missile will just pass Shakuras, and zoom off to the edge of the system, possibly leave the system all-together if it isn't destroyed by an asteroid field.

Besides, no one knows what the subspace vibrations have done to it. It could be a dud by now
By the way, how does glass-like substance cutting create a void vaccuum? The void of space IS a vaccuum. D:
IC: The teams cut through, pushing the glass out of the way. Getting in, they noticed the room lacking of Holis, and immediantly got to work. The thirty or so teams across the systems plugged in their tablets, and began the hacking and downloading procedure. (you'd not have expected this, so no time for viruses, seeing as they retreated so quickly

) Setting traps near the entrance points, the marines watched as the hacking bar slid across, and kept their locks on the entrances. As soon as the hacking was done, the download was initiated. Nothing had happened to them yet.
OOC: also, how would you know Chozoan? I try to avoid such patterns in their language, keeping it smooth, while clicking and other bird-ish noises (birds of prey) So, no such pronunciation
I still have to question the "system enders" as it soudns like an excuse for overpowered bahemoths, though the shields and hulls of your ships seem to be rather weak.

Now I, on the other hand, have a system ender, but, it takes a long time to end a system.

But, at least it creates a nice show.
Forgot to mention though, I have 1 million drones.

And, well, they are spaced out among the few hundred capital ships and the planets and stations, but still, that's an overwhelming amount for any fleet. And just think... most of them are active now

Fast little buggers, aren't they? XD (On a normal basis, about 3/4 of the combat and persuit drones are on standby or "asleep". Now, just think what it's like to have all 100% on... >:3)
Edit: I know this is an epically long post, but I really felt like you needed to know. The Gate is pointed at Shakuras, away from the sun, which means that the missile is aimed for the edge of the system, at an angle. It won't hit the capital, and will never get close to the sun. :/ It's probably running low on fuel by now
