They were guided to the limo, where the driver waited outside. Their guide to the limo opened the door, allowing them passage to the passenger area of the vehicle. The marines stopped outside, and waited. Once the guests were inside, the driver returned to his seat up front, and started the engine. The marines simply stood and watched, talking amongst themselves, as they watched the limo move off, to the exit of the base.
The military equipement, moved out of sight as the limo entered the road, leaving the base behind them. Soon, buildings appeared, as did the trees. As the limo began through the city, the surroundings became familiar. Vast, tall metallic structures reaching high above, sleek against the blue sky. The trees lined up between both directions of the road were overflowing with leaves and flowers, and the grass was as green as could be. As they moved deeper into the city, traffic seemed to remain rather clear, lacking the chaos of ages past. Their vehicles lacked wheels, instead, using magnetics to push or brake their cab. Fountains, and gardens, and clean streets and buildings, it was all organized, civilized, lacking of the ancient lifestyle. (new york as an example of such chaos

) The air was clean, and the city was surprisingly quiet for such a vast and advanced civilization. Machines were faintly droning, and everything remained alive. Birds overhead, living in harmony with the unnatural structures planted upon the planet's surface. It was like a vast garden, a paradise. But, just beyond them, a few streets to the side, was the path of destruction that the rebels had created. Though contained, the area was deserted, as buildings remained in need of repairs, and the cleanup commenced. That section of the city was blocked off, twinkling roadblocks covering the road. But soon, they were past that, moving back into the beauty of the city, towards their destination.
