FOREST SETTLERS

Is a "civilization" type of map, heavily focused on manual army buildings and tactics.
Very simple and self-explaining in-game but for information:
You start by picking any spot on the map, where you will receive a goldmine and starting units. Most of the map is forest with randomly generated creep camps and capturable (income/mercenary) buildings. Develop up to tier 3 having various city passive town workers and military units (Soldier,Scholar,Wizard,Archer,Ballista,Knight).

The map is a concept idea, hope to get some feedback.
I would add custom icons, models and music (pagan style) later.


-Totems can be upgraded into a Pagan altar, each giving different bonuses to your tribe
-Every 10 minutes there's a 40% chance for a special event to happen
-Undead now capture human buildings, each serving a different purpose
-A Player defeat by Undead can turn into one
-5 quest givers at random locations for mini-tasks

Some trees are invulnerable and can't be cut/harvested. The enemy AI spawned right next to me after some time. Builder has the same icon as the Follower. Was very confusing at first. Though they were the same unit. Farmer also has the same icon. Hue...

  4. Only Scholar can be used on Villagers. Trying Wizard afterwards always uses Scholar.
  5. Villagers and Women are rather a nuisance to manage. Hard to see, randomly appearing.
Overall needs polish, maybe some more factions and stuff going on.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Ran a few alpha tests in multiplayer and made a lot of edits based on people's feedback. (added a lot of descriptions)
As for this list, the invulnerable trees are intended to make up battleground obstacles.
Enemy AI doesn't do anything in multiplayer. Initial spawn has been changed. Farmer/Builder icons will be done in future.
Scholar/Wizard training fixed. Women can now breed with your hero, soldiers and other villagers (including children due to popular demand)
Undead can now capture structures, each type having a different purpose. Endgame undead are very strong.
Lastly, there's a choice per player per game to pick a pagan religion. (Nordic - Ranged, Celtic - Druid, Slavic - Mages, Baltic - Melee)

i played the game single player ( sadly i have no friends to play with :( )
here is some of the problem i ran into

1. you can pick your starting location in the top right box making you getting stuck ( and also getting undefeatable?)
2.only male villagers can become archers but they model will change to female archer anyway so maybe add different model for male and also make female allowed for becoming archers
3.some buildings model are way too large compared to they actual size
4. the target dummy ( the one you attack and gain bonus damage ) can be cheased by canceling your attack and attacking again so you gain attack damage without actually attacking it its not the big deal but im sure it can be easily be fixed in reforged
5. in the mason description it says it can attack stone to "gain XP" as mana but what you can do with that? even if you get to 200 mana ( the maximum amount) nothing happens
6. Lack of description. i did not find out how a player can become a undead and nor did i find a undead in a map , i didnt explore all of the map but i did half of it

Overall i liked the city buildings elements but wish there was some kind of PVE element in it

1: You can, but you wont be able to develop/play without wood so there's no point. If you do make that mistake you can use -restart during the first 5 minutes.
2: Villagers AND followers. The female archer is a visual (detail) which I guess I could edit to make it make sense. If you unlock the Aphrodite religion all your villagers will be female so that does make sense.
5: Mason uses his mana for a skill that increases the base armor of any building by 5 permanently.
6: You become undead by losing your main town to an undead unit (lose scenario since humans are a lot stronger)

There's 1 randomly placed Undead Cave and another type of Undead Cave that may spawn from the periodic random event.
Randomly spawned ghouls throughout the forest and rising skeletons from graves during the night.

The map is supposed to be a chill, micro intense pvp sandbox with all the random Questgivers, Treasures, Shops, Mobs and Ruins there to slightly support those that are lucky enough to find them. Same for Undead and Mobs, which are there to hinder unlucky players.

(No screenshots since it's all just forest with randomly gen'd things)
