Dragon's River

This is my first attempt at map making in about a decade. It's a two-player melee map bisected by a river and a quiet village. There are four green spots, eighteen orange spots (some around the four extra gold mines), and two red spots. There are also two Ashenvale mercenary camps, two merchants, two laboratories, a marketplace, and a central healing fountain under the titular green dragon.

I tried to keep everything as symmetrical as possible to avoid giving either player an advantage. There's more than one place to expand to, and the map alternates large open swathes of land and hills with chokepoints made by forest.

I also added sounds to the water features.

Building space is kind of cramped and there's three openings to the base which makes things a bit worse in some regards and perhaps better in others. Having the laboratory so near makes it a bit of a cheesy game. Revealing is easily used. Night elves...

Having the laboratory so near makes it a bit of a cheesy game. Revealing is easily used. Night elves could get a Shredder xD
There's quite a few mines near each other, especially the northern ones which militia and ancients could have an advantage by taking them faster.
Fountains are generally controversial for ladder.
There's few critters for undead to use Rod of Necromancy or Raise Dead on but there's loads of villagers in the south village.

Overall it's quite a nice map with lots of paths. Perhaps it needs some tweaks. You could check out the melee mapping balance guides below.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
