Desert Survival Beta v1.0

This bundle is marked as pending. It has not been reviewed by a staff member yet.
Desert Survival is a post-apocalyptic RTS.
In the game you can play as Survivors from a distant colony looking for new sources of oil, Raiders roaming the outlands for victims to loot from or Nature trying to regrow and protect itself with the help of the mysterious Wanderer.
The goal is simple, survive and dominate this new area.
Oh, and you might also encounter some Mutated Lifeforms, results of the nuclear haulocaust.
Good luck with that !

GAMEPLAY

Survivors

As survivors you are part of one of two expedition groups coming from distant colonies looking for new sources of oil.
Exploiting Geyzers to collect oil is crucial to survivor's expansion and technological developpement.
These Geyzers are in limited numbers scatered over the map and depleate quickly.
Securing them will be your most important task.
Besides Geyzers, you will also need to exploit iron from iron ores, these are easier to find and are your base unit-production ressource.
Additionnaly to these static ressources, you can also use recyclers to get ressources from Iron Scraps and Old Oil Barels scatered arround the map.
You will need to defend yourself long enought to allow your technologies to progress to a certain point, so that you can use it to eliminate any threat.
Be carefull not to lose your Command Center, or you will lose the game !

Raiders

As raiders, your main sources of ressources are ... looting other players buildings !
You will also need to collect Iron Scraps and Old Oil Barels scatered on the map for additional ressources, most of your units can collect them.
But this might take a long time, the quickest way for you to get rich is to destroy enemy buildings, they will give you a lot of ressources (based on the type of building, ex : bunkers only give low ressources and only iron, laboratory or command center will give a lot of ressources, and not only iron but also oil.).
Raiders don't have a sedentary base, all your buildings are moving and capable to fight.
Raiders are very dangerous during the whole game, but they need to take advantage at the begining.
Be carefull not to lose your Moving Fortress, or you will lose the game !

Nature

Nature is a slow growing entity, very vulnerable in the early game, it can grow into an unstoppable force if left in peace.
Nature's main source of ressources are Trees. Build Monolits to expand life back into the desert, and grow some trees.
Each tree is a source of income, so don't lose them !
Your Shaper, wich is your only building unit, can also eat Iron Ore or Iron Mushrooms to get Iron ressources. Later on, trees will also produce it.
Evolving your creatures will make them more and more powerfull, to a point of total domination.
Then, Nature will be able to take back it's rights.
Be carefull not to lose your Shaper, or you will lose the game, and so will the Wanderer !

Wanderer

The Wanderer is a mysterious character, when you chose this slot, you will only play as a solo hero : The Wanderer.
Your goal is simple : protect nature and the Shaper at all cost.
For that, you will have to gain Blessings from the fire of destiny (abilities) and Sacred Artifacts from the Monolith (items).
Your only source of income is to gather Iron Scraps and Old Oil Barrels arround the map to serve as offerings.
(Quests and new sources of income will be added later).
If the Wanderer dies, he can be resurected from the Fire of Destiny, but it will take some time, during which nature will be more vulnerable.
You don't share vision with the Shaper, so you will have to comunicate.
Be carefull not to let the Shaper die, or you will lose the game ! (and give access to all players to the Monolith and Fire of Destiny).

A credits list in the map description with the names of the authors whose resources you've used is mandatory. That includes models, skins, icons, custom spells, systems. Also, sounds, music and everything outside this site.
This helps you with the models, skins and icons from Hiveworkshop: Resources in use by Desert Survival Beta 0.9b
You can also upload your map here to generate a list: Asset scanner

The description is a bit shallow. A bit more details about the gameplay would be nice.
What kind of beta? Is the map near completion as in at least in playable state?

Awaiting Update.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
