Play as one of the defending factions between Human Alliance, Horde Orc, Night Elf Sentinels, or the new Kael's Forces addition. Heroes now have even more significant role and leveling has been expanded to over level 50. Undead also receives spawning reinforcements in addition to their main attacks.

Blizzard Entertainment for Base Map
This is the classic Battle of Mount Hyjal with addition of "Blood Elves" faction. I put it in quote because it is not full-fleshed Blood Elves faction, more like a collection of campaign exclusive troops gathered together. This map was created around 12-13 years ago, back when I was a beginner in World Editor. I want to release this now to prevent it disappearing into the abyss of time.

For reviewers and moderators: This is of Simple level from my personal opinion. I released it for preservation purposes.

Could be a good idea with the proper implementation. Right now, it's tad unpolished, the starting cameras being weird or in other places from where they should. The demons have the blood elf circle of power visible for some reason. Having the blood...

Having the blood elves also red as the orcs is confusing.
Heroes could have items instead of Phat Lewt.
Ghoul is found two times in the Crypt.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

I adore this game! As the other reviewer has mentioned:

1. Camera is a bit janky
2. Cutscene gets stuck, due to #1 possibly
3. Orc doesn't engage at all
4. Kael'thas randomly blows up the human base, then a system message appears: Kael'thas has gone to another world for 300 seconds. After that, he is seen face-down in his base LOL. Wish he came back to fight, he was the only one assisting me in my human base (was playing as Jaina, no surprises there)

edited to add: okay, with regards to #4, apparently, Kael'thas has a skill that blows himself up. However, he can cast Monsoon, but whenever I play him, I can't seem to get the "void energy" needed to cast monsoon....? Also that detonation skill seems a bit pointless, since it makes him irrelevant in the battles after that.

Would love to see how you improve this map!

Hi, thank you for playing this old map of mine! (I know, release said 2025, but it has been in epicwar since 2014)

1. The starting scene camera? Yeah, I didn't edit the cutscene when I was younger because I had 0 idea how it works back then. I can add fixes for the camera so players follow the Night Elf perspective like the original mission.
2. The skip only works for Night Elf player. This is not noticeable in the original campaign because you cannot play as Human or Orc or Undead in the original version (NE Mission 7). As point one said, I can work with a fix for it.
3. Strange, the troop should at least default engage if provoked. Otherwise yeah, the AI is clunky and I place those Orc units intentionally as a meant to get Thrall out :D
4. Monsoon ability is tied to Void Energy research which is available at Blacksmith when you play as Kaelthas.

To be honest, I didn't expect any interest on the map so I am pleasantly surprised. I'll slowly implement fixes on the issues mentioned here, though the Orc engage issue is weird and need some time for me to fix, otherwise should be doable enough.
