Altershift: Path of the Righteous

Iinspired by Xetanth87's Warcraft 3 Alternate. The concept for this is the same, but in reverse. So, for his series, the race shifting is Human → Orc → Night Elf → Undead → Human. In this version, it's Human → Undead → Night Elf → Orc → Human.
In this campaign, Arthas has been morphed into a human paladin and is now out ressurect the arcanist, Kel'Thuzad, and to summon the Titan Lord, Archimond, in order to begin the invasion of the Arcane Legion.

  • Night Elves are referred to simply as Kaldorei and have no relations to High/Blood Elves
  • The Nations of the Horde are divided into clans
    • Clan Blackrock is Lorderon, and is lead by High Chieftain Terenas Menethil
    • Clan Dalaran is Dalaran and is lead by Far Seer Antonidos
    • Clan Ursabane is Stormgarde and is lead by Chieftain Thorbus Ursabane.
    • Clan Frostwolf is Gilneas and is lead by Chieftain Greymane
    • Clan Thunderhead is Alterac. Once led by Chieftain Aiden Perenolde, the kingdom was devastated after their betrayal against the Horde during the second war. Much of the Thunderhead now live on as brigands, lead his eldest son, Aliden.
    • Clan Seaheart is Kul’Tiras, and is lead by Admiral Daelin Proudmore
    • Clan Lightning Blade is Stormwind. The city of Stormwind was destroyed and the clan nearly wiped out during the First War. Currently, it’s ruled by Chieftain Varian.

I would like to apologize for how long this update took. Anyways, here some quick fixes.
  • Fixed the loading screen text in Chapter 5
  • Fixed an issue in which Knights were trainable in Chapter 6
  • Knights and Rightous Golems have swapped in terms of unlocking
    • Rightous Golems are now trainable in Chapter 7 onward
    • Knights are now trainable in Chapter 8
  • Removed the mentions of timers in Chapter 9 If I hear one more complaint about it...

  • Small Hotfix. Apparently, Exorcism was causing lag again to to a damage interval of 0.0. That's now fixed.
  • Peasants now benefit from Advanced Lumber Harvesting.

- Arthas's W causes me to have very low fps in the game for a few seconds, I had moments where the whole game would freeze and I had to restart the mission, I don't know if my pc has a problem or if it's because of the spell, I didn't feel the need for it anyway
  • Arthas's E.. I would have liked to be able to choose what aura I wanted, manually, like, instead of having to go through all 3
  • Devotion Aura and Vengeance Aura they have the same model
  • In chapter 2 there's a mountain king, after I killed him I thought he was dropping something, but no, I think it's a reference to your name xd
  • I liked mystic detonator and ethereal portaller
  • I didn't see a hint about "provide rations" at the farm
  • Kel'Thuzad's R is way too powerful.. 1000 damage, stun and low cooldown on the ability.. I think the ability deserve some nerfs in my opnion
  • In chapter 8 you could add a second optional quest to kill something, in the original game it was like we had to kill a golem
  • In the final chapter, the quest is to destory all enemies in 30 minutes but the timer doesn't start or appear
  • This campaign it felt too easy in my option, the enemies don't really have units, they don't really build, enemy heroes has 0 items
  • Overall it was a okay campaign, I'm waiting for the next one

For the most part, I can see where you're coming from, though I thought I had the Priest tell you about that in Chapter 2. :/. Anyways, this one stood out.

What are you talking about? There was never a golem to kill. At least, not in the original version at least. Did they add something to the Reforge™ version.
 
Next is: Thrall's saga continues in Altershift 4 (Night Elf Campaign): The Life-Binding of Maldramore

In this campaign, Thrall led the kaldorei sisters into Maldramore, until he encountered Jaina's orcs who had landed on Maldramore earlier, as Gromilla encounters Cenathrius, who led the undead Scourge in Dreadlands, and Medivh being the peacebroker of Thrall's kaldorei and Jaina's orcs

Units playing animations during scenes freeze their animations until a next one. May want to use cue animations so that stand will follow casting.
The elf woods were turned into a troll jungle but Dalaran remains pretty much the same.
A nice doublethink/brainwash campaign. More reskinning than custom material but there's some there. Not sure about replayability value.

  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

i just played this out. and as xenath work is special
this is special work as well i just love to play these chesse and fun campaign's out

Here's a full run of Altershift :D

Some minor nitpicks:
  1. Knight is trainable in chapter 6, while the message for them being available is on chapter 7
  2. Mystic Detonators deal insane damage in chapter 6, apparently I had mistaken them for being weak :(
  3. I think Airship and Gryphon overlaps in their role... For all 3 chapters where I have both available, I mostly use Gryphon (except in chapter 8 where I skip both and mass rifles)
  4. Archimonde doesn't have an ultimate ability
  5. Chapter 9 doesn't have any timer, despite it mention a time limit in quest description
 
Prediction of Warcraft 3 Altershift 8 (Alliance Campaign) - Legacy of the Righteous

Interlude - Meeting Point

Hours later, near the base of the Northshire City, King Arthas and Anub'arak the Mighty finally reach the main citadel of the Alliance.

Several hours later, Arthas and Anub'arak arrive at the base of the city.

King Arthas: We've made it, Anub'arak. Our forces are already assembled and waiting.

Footman: Greetings, King Arthas. You've arrived just in time. Illidan's frost and bloodspear troll forces have taken up positions at the base of the city and--

Arthas has another vision.

King Arthas: Aarrghh....

The Highlord: Arthas, my champion. You have come at last.

King Arthas: Master?

The Highlord: There is a fracture in my chain, the Divine Throne, and my energies are seeping from it. That is why your powers have diminished.

King Arthas: But how?

The Highlord: The greathammer, Foehammer, was once locked inside the Throne as well. I break it from the chain so that it would find its way to you... and then lead you to me.

The Highlord: And so it has.

The Highlord: For now we face a grave danger. My creator, the titan keeper Kil'jaeden, sent his agents here to destroy me.

The Highlord: If they should reach the Divine Throne before you, all will be lost. The Alliance will be disbanded and perished. Now hurry! I will grant you all the power I can spare.

The vision ends.

King Arthas: I saw another vision of the Highlord. He has restored my powers! I know now what I must do. It's time to end the game... once and for all.
