There still is no snow on the roof, explain that.
The owner has just cleaned it because he wanted his house to look nice on the picture. He also leveled the show in front so his children can go skiing.
Black Crown, your sun seems a bit too large and the pines... All plants tend to grow up, even on slopes. Maybe you should set them straight, it looks chaotic this way?

Hmm i don't find the time to complete my scenes :(
School began like a week ago and it's realy hard. I don't find the time to work on my scenes. I'm really sorry but I have to say: I'm out

If my eyes don't deceive me, then there's a man with a horse (or so) at the left site of the castle in the summer shot. And a Wendigo in the winter terrain.
Well, they are too large compared to the castle, so they destroy the felt scale of it.
Oh and the wall besides the Wendigo in the winter screenshot is suddenly taller. Guess you forgot to lower it after raising the terrain beneath it. =P

Only now I saw that post.

Actually not, the guy at the summer scene is in the right scale compared to the castle =P

And I didn't even touched the that part of the ground in the winter scene, so the wall isn't taller or anything.

@ Airhead, the winter rocks around the pond look REALLY bad. The rest is very nice. The trees are well spaced, and have good size variation.
@Airhead - I really hate the grass doodad and the rocks around the water. That's my only major concern.

Now that I picture it I think you are both right I just don't know exactly, what to do so what do you suggest. And about the Ashenvale grass that is so good, just normal or lumpy?

There are no major changes with summer and spring, and yeah, the angles messed me up. and wouldn;t u want a warm fire if it was raining out?

ok i changed the grass on spring. and since im lazy i dident delete the grass just replace it with a blank model that i made by opening magos model editor hitting new that hitting save XD anyway so whateya think?

The Gateway of Worlds Spring~2.jpg

ah nvm .. cause i can't open the UTM .. D: so i guest will have to wait... before i can say i'm in.. (can i use the Normal world editor? and just import the model i need?) that are already in the UTM?

Edit = wow i almost double post.. sorry for that..

okay im in.

here are the 4 pics of the 4 seasons.

i hope they are good enough, Im not sure if i could beat the ultra-pros on this site :/
but trust me, you wont be disappointed.

P.S. by the way, I used the UTM. cThinig is it was too big for my computer to upload to this site ( Accursed dial up ! ) So i deleted all the extra files i didn't need

thing is, i also deleted some of the textures that are required for some of the models i used, and i wasn't going to spend 5 hours looking for the right textures. So when you open the map, you will find " Can not load [ so and so]

sorry about that.

Why do you need the map ? IS it for credit reasons?

thedeathunterxx, although the terrain may not be the best, the difference between all the seasons is very well done! Good job.

(off topic) You manage to see the bright side of every terrain :D people love that.
Not always. I can be harsh sometimes. Usually when someone gets a bunch of "wow, amazign terrainz 6/5!!!11" and it really should be a 1/5. Then I go to town on their terrain just to make sure they don't get too cocky. I probably shouldn't, but those just piss me off.

Anyways, more WIPs, less talk. I've already had to report this thread for spam. >: (

well i thought about this while making the map.

i tried every fog color imaginable, and it always clashed with the hill, making it poke out of the sky. So i tried as much as possible to blend with the sky just above the hill.

the time of day didn't change anything >.>

to be honest, the skys were probably what set it off. I was experimenting with the combination of 3 different skys with 3 different colors. May have thrown off the blending
:/

if anything, the summer picture is the one that clashes. The hill is freaken yellow .

thnx for the feedback :)

rawr

I thought jumping into the community headfirst would be fun, so I'll try and make something decent for the contest. Here's my Spring work in progress so far.

hey Ilayat, first welcome to the hive but second and more importantly i think your terrain is a great beginning meaning it needs work but can be good with just work not a re-do. first try a dark blue fog rather than black so it looks dark but also blends with the dark blue sky. and maybe try a differant tree maybe not im biased against blizzard made trees so you cant really take my oppinion on it. but anyway also you could try adding in the moon. to do this just put about 3-6 of the "Fog (edit in object editor)" doodad in the same place and make them much larger so it looks like the moon then press control+page up and it will start floating and there you go. and just keep trying stuff.

Thanks for the replies.

As far as I know I didn't actually use any fog in my picture. =P
I'm not exactly sure how people use it, I was pretty explicit it making sure it wasn't turned on because when I used game view settings the background half of my image was covered in black fog and I couldn't see it at all.
My experience with fog has been pretty bad: whenever I try using it, common sense doesn't seem to work for me. Something like lowering the density of fog should totally make it less thick, but it doesn't seem to have any effect for me.

I am new as a member to the Hive, but I have had the game for several years now. I've also been visiting the Hive for quite some time, to read tutorials and things.

to change the fog :

To change thickness, you must alter the Y and the Z of the fog.
The Z is how far or close you are to the fog. So 6000 Z is far away from you.
if the Z is 1000, then the fog will be in front of your face.

I have never really determined what the Y Does, but im pretty sure it balances out the Z.

For instance, If your Z is 3000 , and your Y is 3000, you will basically have a wall of fog.

A good setting for fog is 1000 Y and 6000 Z with a density of .50 or .60

You can also change the color, but you should know how to do that already :P

i also dont understand why the density doesn't really effect the fog. Someone is gonna have to explain that to me to ...

Okie, I made some changes to the spring version. Also started working on summer. I think I've got fog under control, although I think the night picture for spring wasn't a terrific idea.
