Over the course of three days, lasting from friday to sunday, in teams of two, as a part of this contest you shall create a map - a minigame if you will - based around the theme of hero survival. This theme should be broad enough, so that it allows for a lot of creativity, while still limiting the entries in the sense that there won't be maps of too conflicting gameplay types, such as one map being a Tower Defence, the next being a Footman Frenzy and the third a Hero Arena.

It's simple: In a team of two, you need to make a minigame map, based around heroes surviving something. The rest is up to you.

The reason for this being based around a team effort, and not a solo one, is to allow for people of different talents to join up and split the workload, which is to be done in a crunch, seing as the contest only lasts three days.

  • No submission may violate any of the site rules.
  • If a submission does not follow the map submission rules the creators will be disqualified.
  • All submissions must follow the current theme. If any map does not fit, a moderator will tell you as soon as possible as to avoid confusion.
  • Your submission must be posted before the deadline. The post containing your final submission must also contain (or link to) the following:
    • Several screenshots of terrain and gameplay.
    • The map file in the appropriate format.
  • You must show at least one unfinished preview of your submission, before the deadline, as proof that it’s yours.
  • Your submission may not be started/made before the official launch of the contest.
  • Judges may not participate.
  • Your final submission must have no game-breaking bugs. (Since asking for "bug free" is impossible given the short time span)
  • Imports may be used in the map, however they must all be credited either in the loading screen, at the start of the game, or in the quest log.
  • Your map must be created by a team of two different people.
    • Finding testers and voice actors to help you with your submission is not considered teamwork.
  • All the entries must be unprotected so that the triggers and scripts can be looked at.
  • All maps must not have a size greater than 2MB.

Judging should be divided between a staff-appointed judge and a public poll, where in you can vote for your favorite entry. Each vote counts for 1 point.

Judging criteria should be based around the fun factor (0 - 5 points), creativity (0 - 5 points) and Aesthetics (0 - 5 points), resulting in a max score of 15 from the judge. While usually judging the coding would also be of importance, for a minigame contest I feel that it isn't nescesary. If your map during the short game time actually starts lagging it will affect the level of enjoyment, and therefor automaticly bring the fun factor down and by that your amount of points in that category.​

  • 1st place - your entry on the award icon and 30 rep for each member of the team
  • 2nd place - award icon and 20 rep for each member of the team
  • 3rd place - award icon and 10 rep for each member of the team

First of all, do not double post.
You need a partner to enter this and as I have understood you had begun with the map in the past but this is not allowed you have to do a complete new map.

Today I started to create massive amount of units. Each unit will have one ability. The project is going very fast, but there is still a lot to do. I hope we are able to finish our project. I think we have to minimize the project to a maximum of 5 waves only.

So, what about you guys?

Hi everyone, here's a little teaser of our (Hellwooker and I) map.

It will be called Lycantrophy: Grayworld.

Deep in the lands of the acient forest of Felwood, shadows and evil beings are lurking out of a special crystal. No one knows where the crystal came from, but not long ago a mystical wizard walked through the woods who seemed to be looking for something. After that, no one has ever heard of him or her. Having a strong bond with Nature, Furion Stormrage is about to learn a very dark secret of Felwood, one that could crush all of Azeroth.


You need to survive waves of shadow-like creatures to cast a mighty spell of purification. It will last about 20-30 minutes and the last minutes you'll have to fight a gigantic final boss. Neutral shops are scattered through the land, where nature-like items can be bought. Furion Stormrage can morph into several animals who each have their weaknesses and strengthes, and next to that Furion has got 4 or 5 Hero abilities to help him battle the dark forces.

Due to changes in the concept, we would like to change the name of our map from 'Orbital Attack' to 'Exterminatus' and we'll also have a WIP ready pretty soon.

Here's the WIP preview of our mini-game formerly called Orbital Attack, now titled Exterminatus:
Based in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Exterminatus is a mini-game which puts you in the power suit of Archius Lithius, a space marine of the Ultramarines chapter who was stranded on the planet of Llandra during an Ork invasion. Your battle-brothers have left you for dead and are planning to obliterate the entire planet in just a few minutes. The goal is to survive for 10 minutes against the Orks. There are also some Imperial Guardsmen still on the planet who will help you.

That is one of our main systems of the project but I think Kita overdid it. X_x
What what? Of course not! The system is perfectly reasonable!
Besides, that screenshot only had the default gore level setting, which is merely 25% of the maximum gore settings.

Well... Well! We are working on that! It's Kita's area so can't do much about that.
Will be fixed soon.
