"One of the concerns with Reforged that we’ve seen are the visuals when selecting Classic Mode. We’ve identified the bug causing the colors and shading to look different from the original Warcraft III, and we’re testing a fix that will be incorporated in a larger patch addressing this issue and others. We expect to release that late this week. The patch will also address many other known issues, such as fixing some portrait animations and audio bugs, implementing some UI fixes, and more."

At least, they know about those issues and they'll fix them. Let's hope patches, which will come in near future will add back custom campaign feature, which is missing.

It's really nice that they're fixing broken effects in Classic, as well as fixing some bugs and improving performances. But no word on Custom Campaigns? Not a single one? This kinda makes me worried.
Also, considering that the game just came out, the patching cycle is kinda slow. By now there should have been at least two patches.

How much do you want to bet that Blizzard will say the same thing again for their NEXT screw up?

Actually i hope this screwup won't affect wc3 and thus i wont care.

I don't care for admitting any fault or bullshit like that. I expect fixes for the problems. And when i see they aknowledge problems and announce fixes for that, that is what i want to see. Like 1.31.1 brought for example (still my favorite patch so far with bots gone , new natives and only minor instabilities)

We are talking about a computer game. bad comparison
did you know psycho health has just about the same value as the physical? By destroying smbd's childhood you're putting him into risk of earlier cardio attacks, increase his blood pressure, stimulate his kidneys to product more adrenalin and rage over the badly done thing on forums. Your idea is that some specialists are allowed to perforom bad as long as they fits your inner feelings. My idea is thats not acceptable, because it's not the only team lead/blizzard's manager in the world, there are bunch of humans who do their jobs properly.

A regular, shot-term stress response is not going to cause any permanent damage and if someone suffers such a severe and long-lasting response that actually has any negative impact on his physical health due to a botched video game, I'd argue that his mental health was already in need of a professional help.

Blizzard said:
First off, we want to say we’re sorry to those of you who didn’t have the experience you wanted, and we’d like to share our plans for what’s coming next.

Oh really? You are going to blame the player base now, after YOUR mess-up? HOW in the world could you even mess up this bad, when you simply had to add some high-ress models to new game, and leave the original as it was? And you have the audacity to insult and blame the audience? YOUR audience?

Blizzard said:
Before we go on: the team is excited that Warcraft III: Reforged is finally upon us and we’re fully committed to supporting the game for a long time to come.

Yeah yeah, just like with presentation of Diablo Immortal... Anything is answered with "wE aRe SuPeR ExItEd"... Way to play dumb and ignore all the 1000 and one ways you messed up.

Blizzard said:
[...]and we’re looking forward to pouring our hearts into Reforged and the Warcraft III community for the long term.

In other words, you are not going to do anything much to fix the game now... Despite the fact, that the game is already launched at full price, and yet, it works like a Beta, or even worse. I've seen DayZ Standalone Beta and even that ran better. And you merely had to add some models to the game. Nothing else. One fucking job blizz...

Blizzard said:
Related to that, as we talked about last year at BlizzCon, we did not want the in-game cutscenes to steer too far from the original game. We went a little deeper into the thought process behind that at the show, but the main takeaway is that the campaigns tell one of the classic stories in Warcraft history, and we want to preserve the true spirit of Warcraft III and allow players to relive these unforgettable moments as they were (albeit rebuilt with new animations and the higher fidelity art).

You really still have the audacity to say this, after you completely destroyed the original game, when the original client is no longer accessible, and the old game is gone, what with Custom Games and Custom Campaigns being removed from game. If you really wanted to preserve Warcraft III by keeping as it were, YOU SHOULD HAVE KEPT AS IT WAS, you lying fucks.

Talking about the Custom games, or campaigns, this update did not even touch on them. At all. In general, it did not address any of the more pressing matters... Like giving us back the original, or addressing your new policy. Hahah, and despite that they claim they are "preserving" the original Warcraft 3 spirit. Hahahaahahahaaha

This response could be considered a joke, if it wasn't so insulting to the fans.

Now, this is a flat out lie.

I remember writing my Blizzcon recap last year and as I was doing it, I've had to keep a close eye on any news coming out of Blizzcon. They didn't talk about removing cutscenes or go deeper into the thought process behind it at the show. Not at all. The only reason we even caught wind of that was due to Back2Warcraft tweeting that some developer said that to him.

And even then, the amount of information about the topic was insanely low.

My biggest concerns are:
- The policy for intellectual property on any custom map made by the community claiming unconditional rights over your maps.
- No custom campaigns anymore.
- The promised cinematics and cutscene overhaul is not there.
- No re-recorded voiceovers.
- afaik, the models animations have lower frames than modern monitors max framerates.
- Merging classic and reforged, which is a bad thing considering, reforged is a mess of bugs and failed promises.

they should've splitted the classic campaigns
classic is gone forever
theres actually a slider in the options menu of the game, bottom left, switch the game and graphics back to classic, SD(classic) is still there entirely on its own, HD(reforged) cant be seen or even toggled with out purchase

your opening a massive bucket of worms devling into the Psychological pain = Physical pain, which is true in how our bodies react and deal with said pain, unless your going to go into every point about where and when some one can get hurt and/or affected by Psychological pain dont bring this up, and if 1 game is doing that much damage to some one they NEED to see a psychiatrist not blame a game dev.
also if you dont have a degree in the field or are not suffering your self at some clinical level, you are severely uninformed on the topic

The policy for intellectual property on any custom map made by the community.
go here your questions will be explained TOS explanation and myths

No custom campaigns anymore.
we can only hope they will be added in to fit the current campaign screen at a later point, the campaign folder is still in the docs for reforged just like before, so i doubt the function has been permanently removed, and while the maps folder got wiped the campaigns folder did not

@Devalut
first you asked a question
second you didnt make any kind of point
now your third post @ me, are you making some sort of attack at me for some point you never made?

LMAO, maybe I would've believed that if they had actually done something during the last two years leading up to W3R's release

Yes, they unfortunately released unfinished game. I hope, they'll fix most of those issues, because I want Reforged to be successful game.

@Devalut given the discord is free and open to all as a source to look at any time, linking to said discord may/may not be needed
also if the post in need of backing up doesnt portray to you, i wouldnt make complaints about it
otherwise if every one follows suit and is complaining about others posting habits that dont regard to them most of the thread/forum would be a bunch of usless junk of needless complaints

You sure you wanted to post that to me? Because this has absolutely nothing to do with what I said, as your link talks about not retconning the story and I've talked about them not talking about reforging the cutscenes.

That said, I will correct myself - technically they didn't lie. I've rewatched the Blizzcon panel and they did indeed say that "they dialed back the culling treatment a bit" due to "negative player feedback". Still, I'd hardly call that "going into detail about this change" or appropriately informing the consumers that a big feature was removed.

The problem with the Culling is that Blizzard has re-re-re-re-retconned the mission for 20 years, in some versions Arthas was right and Uther and Jaina were morons, in others Arthas was a meathead, with flavors in between.

They change the facts like every 3 years or so, so there is WC3 the Culling and there are WOW versions of the Culling. I feel that even in a proper release, the Culling wasn't going to end being everyones cup, because everyone has a different version of that mission as the real one.

I believe it doesn't matter anymore. Seems like many people are already asking questions about older versions, and what with gameranger and the like existing, do we even need bnet anymore? Do we need blizzard? Or do we just use older patches of the original, and do our own thing? Who knows, maybe they really will fix reforged. Maybe not. Either way, I have my 1.30 patch and I shall keep on using it.

A little update, @Anaxie brought my attention to the fact that the version I've uploaded was very messy and could cause issues. Since I don't want to screw people over, I've taken down the download links. If anyone has a good version of 1.31.1, please upload it :)
But @Anaxie didn't point out any problems other than "it has many files", at least as much as I could read. If it's a legal copy you purchased and downloaded, it's good.

I've misunderstood and overreacted :D My bad, sorry.

The links are back, but if someone has a clearner version, it would still be nice to get it.

Regarding the game versions, there are certain factors like <=1.26 not working on windows 10 (I don't remember if 1.27 works or not on 10), =>1.29 no bots, no pvpgn, I have no idea about game ranger, many bugs were introduced in 1.29 which made a lot of custom maps unplayable, but that's as far as my knowledge goes, I have no idea how the 1.3x versions are, if they fully fixed the bugs introduced in 1.29, I gave up on 1.29, AFAIK there is no online community from that version onward, maybe? single player players/modders cause "more natives"?

Nice move
Frankly, it's not just Blizz, that acts this way. If you look at all the controversy of the recent years, it's pretty much all of the AAA companies, who completely disrespect and disregard their audience, as well as their own products.

(Then again, even taking Hello Games for example - they at least created numerous expansion packs, that actually made No Man's Sky more than what it was initially promised to be. All free of charge. And the game has no microtransactions to this day, as far as is known to me at least.)

Anyways, why are these companies acting this way? Because their audience enables them too. However much they drag people through the mud, those people come back with their wallets for more...

Hello games are what you called a perfect example of small indie company that had balls to admit everything, go watch Engoodening of No Man's Sky to know why

I believe they fixed many bugs, because when version first came out most of the maps were unplayable but in latest version you could finish your games at least. But some bugs are still exist, some games/maps desync or crash, and they were working completely fine in 1.26 days. And I still haven't heard a reasonable explanation about why same map uses at least 50% more memory in 1.3+ version of the game compared to 1.26 version of the game (I am talking about RAM usage), and while talking about memory: Why I have to download 30 gb of reforged stuff to launch my classic game?

Can confirm I still have a 1.27 version, it does work on W10.

Well I don't really know how this stuff works, but going by that link isn't it saying that overall the stock price has still gone down ever since 30th jan? Plus it should still take some time for the effects to really come into play since Blizzard did all they could to keep the consumers unaware and blizz were denying refunds, or at least trying to.

I'm sure there's still ignorant people who have yet to find out that blizz broke all their promises that are buying the game.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if they end up not being affected since for some reason a lot of people seemingly like being treated like shit and gobble up trash like a delicacy.

For stock market changes, you really have to look at a duration of 6 months to properly access the situation.
And if you do that, you see that actually all changes when reforged came out were within the normal variance of the stock value of the past 2 months.

Or differently speaking: Reforged is too small of a fish that anyone on the stock market cares

I didn't buy reforged and I hadn't followed the development until I heard the news.
But I think they should've splitted the classic campaigns and reforged campaigns so people can choose which to play for different experiences.
One for nostalgia and the other for entirely new experience.

That would have been a good idea. Also, I was worried about the development of this game due to the lack of news.

Edit: You guys think there will be a move to set up a third party battle.net server, perhaps officially for the hive community? For a specific version of WarCraft III classic. That would be awesome.

I don't know exactly what that slider do as I do not own W3R but I'd assume that slider is for graphical purpose only(?)
I was talking about the entire campaign such as cutscenes and map details. If the only thing it changes is SD to HD and vice versa, there's almost no difference about the experience we discussed earlier.

We or at least, I, prefer to keep the original to stay in its shape for nostalgia purpose and reforged for a whole new fresh environment of Warcraft.

They should never have updated that game after 1.26 anyway... game was stable for years, the community was still active and made tons of tools for modding, nobody asked for such changes...
Now they have just broken modding on this game.
I agreed. They should've left it alone at 1.26 and if they really do want to update it, then do so in the reforged version imo. That way, they wouldn't mess up with our beloved game.

People still own the game? Refund it, and I got my whole friend group to do so as well. This is a garbage response for a garbage game. But if we are going to criticize it is that this is an inadequate response to the problems the community has with the game.

I don't think anyone is happy with this dev update. Didn't really talk about the things everyone here is most concerned about which is custom campaigns, the cinematics, and just the general bugginess of the game.

The fact they responded is only going to anger fans even more at this point. The best thing to do was to not to respond and release a massive patch with a response. Actions speak louder than words, and I see a lot of talking from the devs and very little action.

Refund this game now!

Edit: As terrible as this game is, it has brought new players. I've not seen this many lobbies and them filling so quickly in a long time.

Not really a big surprise. Player counts are always high after a release/update and then decrease. Comparable to classic bnet when bots were shut down.
More important stats will be a in a few weeks imho.
