[TTM] Total Tank Mayhem - Shooting Range​


Do you like tanks? I like Tanks. So i made this map, as a proof of concept.

What is it?

Simply put: A Hero Tank Combat Arena style map, with 30 different tanks to choose from, 16 different items to boost your stats and wacky damage mechanics
(and quite a lot of RNG).

The Game state is a BETA. meaning, anything is subject to change. I welcome feedback and constructive critisism.
Balancing is not 100%, so be forgiving, that some things might seem OP.
Please report any bugs or inconsistencies so i can optimize.

Current Version: 1-8 Players

Gamemodes:
  • sr (Shooting Range - no scoring, no win condition)
  • ffa (as in Free for all, Kills to Points)
  • ffacap (same as FFA but with aditional Flag zones to capture and gain periodic points)
  • tdm (Team Death Match, Kills gain points)
  • teamcap (Same as TDM with aditional Flag zones to capture and gain periodic points for your team)

If win conditions are met, the game does not conclude. So you can play around as much as you like!
Player 1 is in charge of choosing gamemodes, reseting them and coordinating the game flow.
I wanted to make this map as open and configuratable as possible. Win condition adjustmentes as well as more stuff and maps are soon to follow!

Also included are:

Armor Penetration Mechanic - Calculated from tank armor against penetration values of the shelltype used and the caliber of the enemy.
Shell Types: Be it AP, APCR, HEAT or HESH, every type has its own values and usecases.
Crits: You can track on hit, even when not penetrating! Also engines like to catch fire or you even blow up.
Bounces: Your tanks armor is there for a reason

Commands:

Player 1:
  • -mode [sr/ffa/ffacap/tdm/teamcap]: Changes the gamemode. Resets all scores, if win condition hasn't been met yet.
  • -creeps on: Spawns neutral hostile creeps every so often, to a max of 10 per player (How long can you survive?)
  • -creeps off: Turns of the spawn and removes all creeps

All:
  • -spawn [random/1-30]: Spawns a random or desired tank for the player.
  • -list tanks: Shows all current tanks with their number to spawn them
  • -team [1-8]: Join the desired team in TDM or Team Capture
  • -team?: Displays your current team
  • -allies: Shows your current allies

Currently there is only one Model (A1Abrams from llidan(Evil)X)

More maps, items, balancing, tanks and gamemodes.
If this is something the community likes, i will work on improving and expanding this concept into bigger maps and up to 24 players.

No info in the quest log. Chat commands for stuff like starting the gameplay are kind of deprecated. Where do you get ammunition from? OK there's a free type in the shop. All weapon/shooting options have the same icon. Would be nice to shoot while...

Would be nice to shoot while moving.
Hull Hardening doesn't say that it actually adds armour and how much.
Ammo has to be specifically placed in the first inventory spot to fire or be detected by the its particular spell.
Weapon types are pretty much the same. Shooting is quite slow on each.

For now, feels really sluggish to play.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
