Quite a lovely mini-game which can be updated with mods, power ups and other gameplay mechanics if desired. Approved. If you want more reviews, you should participate in the The Grand Review Exchange! R U L E S Site Rules Map Submission Rules M...
I really like this map, we played 2vs2!

Issues:
1. There was an issue with lag during lategame (when we got to 20 and less points, down from 75). After the match ends, it starts lagging a lot more, so it's hard to leave the game. You could try to clear more memory leaks if there are any. Or use more efficient collision detection? I'm not sure what's causing the issue.
2. After one team wins, the balls should disappear, because in our game game all teams have been eliminated after the end.
3. The slide trigger has an interval of 0.01. You should change it to 0.02 or 0.03 to improve performance, because there's no need for it to be this low. It works the same. Most slide maps use 0.03.

Ideas for powerups and different ball types (or personalized hero abilities, if you add those):
1. (ball) Curved ball, the shot curves to left or right (the direction is visible in tooltip)
2. (ball) Power ball, the ball is much faster and carries a lot of power, so it can't be caught by players. It can ONLY be deflected and it won't stop until it enters the goal.
3. (ball) Big ball, the ball is really big and can only be stopped by 2 or more people, otherwise it pushes the players (only exists if teams have 2 or more players.
4. (ball) Stun ball, it's a red lightning ball projectile that players need to avoid. If it touches a player, he gets stunned for 1-2s.
5. (ball) Split ball, splits into 2 balls after being shot.
6. (debuff) Entangling roots, stops a chosen player from moving for 1-2s. Actually I think this can be combined with the stun ball. Would be too op to have instant stun.
7. (debuff) Confuse movement, reverses the movement of the chosen player for 10s. Reversed movement works like this: if player orders character to go up, it goes down, same for left and right.
8. (debuff) First person mode, forces the chosen player into a first person mode for 10s. It's a bit harder to defend and shoot balls.

Could be fun to have 1 unique ability per race, to shoot different ball types mentioned above or another abilities.

Random events:
1. A neutral cannon appears in the map center and shoots balls randomly.
2. Two neutral portals are created at random points on the arena. They teleport entering balls into the other portal. Cool to make sneaky attacks.
3. Multiple TnT barrels or moving TnT pigs are spawned around the map. After balls hit one, it explodes and deflects + speeds up all nearby balls.
4. Black hole appears in the map center and its gravity curves all incoming balls in some way. This could be also a powerup used by players at chosen locations.

New arena ideas:
1. Free field arena, where all players can walk in the middle area, gather balls, shoot them to allies. Goals have small team areas where only team members are allowed to enter. Inspired by the Banjoball map.
2. Arena made entirely of ice, like the Ice Bomb powerup but permanently. Ice Bomb powerup becomes Dirt Bomb and creates ground at a targeted place (smaller area than ice bomb, so it's not too powerful). This "ice" arena modifier can be a toggle, possible to apply to any arena we're currently playing on.

Also:
1. It would be interesting to have optional arrow keys movement too! As an alternative to mouse, both can work at the same time.
2. If there are only 2 teams inside, default them on the opposite sides of the map.
3. Make it possible to remake ingame, without rehosting lobby.
4. Some players didn't like the drunk shake debuff, headache etc.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
