"Oh, I just want to get to know you better. That way, it can be easier to help you out with anything. As for me, I used to be just a corporation owner." Looking out the window, he continues. "Chaos and war broke out on our planet. A World War of sorts. We had just begun colonizing other planets, and had entire fleets of warfarring ships by then. The days grew dark... and an idea was forged. This idea, this leave this chaos and corruption behind. This war, and set out for a new place, where suc corruption could not befall us again. It seemed to be simply a hope. But, hope was what we needed. So, myself and other manufacturers banded together to secretly build a fleet of colony ships, along with a military type escort. Several years passed and the fighting hadn't ended. Finally, the fleet was complete, and during pause in the fighting, the fleet took off, taking all those who wanted a non-corrupt life, away from the chaos that beseiged our world, and into the distant stars. And... with subspace technology at our disposal, we jumped. 200-300 times. The ships still have the logs. We left that galaxy entirely. Ten years of travel. Ten years of rotated stasis, and when we reached this galaxy, unable to find a suitable world, we were about to lose all hope. But then, we discovered this world," His hand moved through the air, his hand open to the ceiling, motioning to the outside. "and we found it... uninhabited. It was a paradise. Lush forests, clean water, and varied animal life. We colonized it, careful to create a balance of nature and technology, so as not to overun this paradise with cruel technology. Instead, the borders of our cities blend into nature, and vice versa. Though the plants are trimmed to keep from infestation, it is otherwise left free. Animals avoid the cities, and we avoid highways from wiping out the surrounding land. We protect our cities from nature, and nature from our cities. A perfect balance while maintaining our advanced technological ways and further advancing scence."
"Since our colonization, I was elected as the leader. I never intended on taking power, but I guess they saw my ideas, my being free of corruption, and the will to advance in science without meaningless destruction. So far, after several years, things have been pretty peaceful. But there are always those who disagree with their leaders. Those who want elected leaders, the same system our old world had, that spawned the corruption. Instead, when my time is up, I will pick the next person to lead, after many trials to prevent corruption, to ensure science survives, and a balance in nature and logic. So, now I have told you of my people and a bit of myself. Now it's your turn." He smiled slightly, the history he told effecting him slightly, sadness in his eyes from distant memories.
