LOTR Mount Doom Battle is a map where the armies of Middle Earth clash within the heart of Mount Doom (I don't know how this is possible, I guess magic) to claim victory over each other. Choose your race, build your base, and train your army. Fight for control of the center of the map to increase your income and accumulate "Conquest Points" to claim victory

(UPDATE 1.1 AND BEYOND CAN NOW BE PLAYED WITH AI)

Features

  • Can be played using AI players
  • AI difficulty settings: easy, normal, hard, and insane
  • 7 unique races
  • 13 custom heroes
  • Income based on controlling points around the center of the map
  • Environmental threats
  • Several bosses with special rewards that spawn as the game progresses
  • Many custom items
  • 5 bonus heroes that can be obtained through certain magical methods

Conquering Other Players

  • When you destroy an enemy Fortress, that player is given the option to serve as your vassal, play as Gollum instead, or simply quit the game
  • Vassals have a significantly reduced food limit and base income
  • If a player chooses to play as Gollum instead of becoming a vassal, they are given another chance at victory through an alternate victory condition

How do You Claim Victory?

  • Reach 10,000 "Conquest Points" by capturing Control Points in the middle of the map, killing enemy units, and/or destroying enemy Fortresses (Takes about 40 to 50 minutes on average depending on the number of players)
  • Once you reach 10,000 conquest points you are granted unstoppable power. Use this power to kill the Fortresses of the remaining enemy players and you will be victorious
  • For players controlling Gollum there is a different means of claiming victory. Victory is achieved by capturing The One Ring and holding on to it in the center of the map for 8 minutes



Races

Gondor

  • Focus: Pikeman and heavy cavalry
  • Unique Units:
    • Swan Knight (Healing aura which increases in power with every additional nearby Swan Knight)
    • Tower Guard (Extremely high damage to cavalry and can use Defend)
    • Trebuchet (Very long ranged siege that is immobile when attacking)
  • Racial Techs:
    • Sundering Projectiles (Causes Trebuchets to slow enemy units and deal extra damage)
    • Blood of Numenor (Increases the health regeneration of all units including heroes)
    • Militia (Causes your structures to summon militia when destroyed)
  • Heroes:
    • Boromir (Captain of Gondor; provides very strong support)
    • Aragorn (Heir of Isildur; powerful against other heroes)

Dwarves

  • Focus: Infantry and siege
  • Unique Units:
    • Shield Breaker (Strong against structures and can capture enemy towers)
    • Steel Guardian (Very resistant to all damage except siege and magic. Very slow moving but has 100% cleave damage)
    • Dwarven Cannon (Long ranged attack that can't miss)
  • Racial Techs:
    • Iron Blood (Increases Shield Breaker hit points significantly)
    • Hydraulic Rams (Upgrades Rams to Hydraulic Rams which have metal armor instead of wood armor and train 50% faster)
    • Dwarven Masonry (Increases wall, tower, and citadel hit points significantly)
  • Heroes
    • Gimli (Dwarven Warrior/Engineer; supports mechanical units and strong crowd control)
    • Thrain (Dwarven Enchanter; both support and anti hero abilities)

Elves

  • Focus: Archers
  • Unique Units:
    • Mirkwood Ranger (Has a long attack range and fast movement speed)
    • Ent of Fangorn (Very durable but takes extra damage from siege and magic damage. If hit many times consecutively becomes enraged, moving and attacking much faster and dealing cleaving damage)
    • Elven Ballista (Long ranged attack that damages units behind the initial target and deals bonus damage to infantry, light cavalry, pikemen, and archers)
  • Racial Techs:
    • Regrowth (Increases structures' hit point regeneration rate significantly)
    • Dusk Warriors (Causes archers to deal additional damage at night)
    • Vengeful Forest (Reduces the cost of Ents and increases the duration of their Entish Rage ability)
  • Heroes:
    • Legolas (Elven Prince; powerful at taking down individual units)
    • Thranduil (Elven King; summoner)

Rohan

  • Focus: All types of cavalry
  • Unique units:
    • Rider of Rohan (Very high damage to infantry, faster than other heavy cavalry)
    • Shield Maiden (For every nearby shield maiden Théoden grains 2 additional damage. If Théoden dies, all nearby shield maiden's attack and move significantly faster).
  • Racial Techs:
    • Draft (Allows your Fortress to summon militia based on the number of barracks you have. Lasts for a long duration)
    • Burning Tactics (Gives your Riders of Rohan a ranged siege attack that they use when attack structures)
    • Bodkin Point Arrows (Causes your Cavalry Archers to deal additional damage to heavy cavalry and especially high damage to Mûmakil)
  • Hero:
    • Théoden (King of Rohan; powerful support and focus fire)

Mordor

  • Focus: Fast unit production (Barracks and Warg Pit units are produced 50% faster but have 15% less hit points) and siege
  • Unique Units:
    • Troll Stone Hurler (Long ranged attack that deals splash damage)
    • Drummer Troll (Damage aura which increases in power with every additional nearby Drummer Troll)
    • War Troll (Durable but weak to archers, has cleaving attack)
  • Racial Techs:
    • Morgul Blades (Killing an enemy hero with any unit causes a Ring Wraith to spawn at your Fortress. Ring Wraiths respawn if killed after a period of time)
    • Enhanced Troll Blood (Increases the hit point regeneration rate of troll type units significantly)
    • Dark Forges (Allows you to train Grond which is an ultimate battering ram with metal armor type)
  • Heroes:
    • The Witch King (The Leader of The Nine; debuffs enemys, summons, and crowd controls)
    • Bolvag (Olag-Hai Troll Commander; powerful crowd control and focus fire)

Isengard

  • Focus: Infantry
  • Unique Units:
    • Uruk-Hai Berserker (When attacking automatically performs a short bladestorm, dealing damage to surrounding units, and going on cooldown for 10 seconds. Meant for hit and run attacks. Vulnerable to archers)
    • Uruk-Hai Heavy Bowman (Very high damage to infantry)
    • Infernal Contraption (Long ranged siege that burns the ground dealing significant damage over time)
  • Racial Techs:
    • Black Medicine (Increases infantry hit point regeneration rate and movement speed)
    • Infernal Engines (Increases the attack damage and burning damage of your Infernal Contraptions)
    • Raiders (Causes Warg Riders to deal additional damage to structures and gives them the Pillage ability)
  • Heroes:
    • Saruman (White Wizard; Decent support and strong area of effect damage)
    • Lurtz (Warchief of Isengard; Stong against other heroes)

  • Focus: Light cavalry and cavalry archer
  • Unique Units:
    • Shadow Warrior (Invisible when not attacking, deals bonus damage to other elite units, and deals additional damage once every 7 seconds)
    • Mûmakil (Extremely durable. Can charge to a target unit crushing and knocking back all units along the way. Very vulnerable to pikemen)
    • Devestator (Long ranged siege that deals bonus damage to infantry, pikemen, and light cavalry)
  • Racial Techs:
    • Desert Skirmishers (Decreases cavalry archer train time and lumber cost and increases their attack damage)
    • Rampant Breeding (Decreases Mûmakil training time and cost but decreases maximum hit points)
    • Marauders (Gives a chance to gain lumber when killing an enemy unit)

    • Suladan (Serpent Lord; Very strong crowd control)

Nice map 5/5
I played few games with full lobby AI here
Pros:
-Unit countering so you cant just spam a single unit and win
-"Some" creative ability design
-Variety of factions to chose from
Cons:
-AIs dont pick items from ground which lead to weak late game heros
-UnSkipable cinematics
-AIs sometimes stuck they hero in their building so they cant use it for reminder of the game


wish there was a option to make the game longer or shorter by changing the required conquest point

-AIs sometimes stuck they hero in their building so they cant use it for reminder of the game


wish there was a option to make the game longer or shorter by changing the required conquest point
Hey Rifleman! Thanks a lot for giving my map a try and the review!

-AI heroes do pick up items but its a bit hit and miss. If their inventories are full, then they wont pick anything else up. I'll work on it some more though!
-I'll try and figure out a way to make cinematics skippable.
-Yeah, AIs do sometimes get stuck, I was thinking about a way to fix this. I'll address that in the next update.
-Really good idea about allowing for higher conquest points, I'll add an option for that.

I will be adding a unique power reward for each race when reaching required conquest points. Also, I might add one more boss.

This is an amazing map! You really feel like you're playing some sort of big super mario minigame, but LOTR themed and on Mount Doom! Awesome!

I love how the gameplay slightly changes throughout the game, with various new objectives always coming up. The ultimate weapons are also very fun.
A must play for any lotr fan, and even other players!

The review is much appreciated! Haha, yeah I guess it is sort of like a mario party game in a way now that you mention it! I will be updating the map pretty soon here with a couple of new bosses and several new ultimate weapons.
I see you have a super mario map, I want to give it a try but I don't even know how to replace my MPQ after reforged.

How do I use my Conquest power?
You are automatically granted it if you are the first to reach the required conquest point score. So, if you set it to 7,000 point requirement and reach 7,000 before other players you should get it.

It should give you a list to choose from of conquest rewards: Galadriel, Orthanc, Nukes, etc. Did you see that list?

Ah mb I set to 16000 points lol, I thought reaching a milestone would give you a power.
