A sequel to the original, Blades 'n Gore II leaves it's predecessor in the dust by improving all the strengths,
removing all the weak parts and by introducing new features that add new dimensions to the gameplay.

BnG II is a fast paced sword fighting game that is fast to learn and hard to master.
It supports a variety of game modes & team configurations and more features are added with future updates.

The map supports
1-12 players.
Currently available game modes:
  • Boss Mode
    • Recommended for: 1-4 players
    • Players are all in the same team
    • You must cooperatively survive through all stages by defeating the AI enemies.
    • The final level is a boss battle

    • Players are evenly divided into 2 teams
    • The team to reach the score limit set by the host wins

Team systems
  • The host is presented with all possible balanced and almost balanced team configurations
  • In the case of unbalanced team configuration, host will always be the one with less teammates
  • Players are always divided to the teams in order starting from the top of game lobby
  • The system works for any amount of players
Example: 5 players in game will give the following options
  • FFA (1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1)
  • 2 Teams (2 vs 3) [Unbalanced]
  • 3 Teams (1 vs 2 vs 2) [Unbalanced]
  • 4 Teams (1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 2) [Unbalanced]

Example: 6 players in game will give the following options

Immersive environment

      • Combat sound effects
      • Miscellaneous system sound effects on various occasions
  • Detailed and varying terrain
    • The terrain is improved by many doodad models exclusively made for this map
    • Custom trees, flower patches, structures and various other environmental doodads

Save/Load Systems
  • You can save your rank & score and continue from where you left on the next game
  • Note that your code is case-sensitive AND bound to your username
  • Also note that playing single player will not earn you score
Advanced damage modeling
  • Being kicked or interrupted during a strike can throw you off balance and cause you to stumble
  • Getting critically low on health will make you limp and bleed, reducing your movement speed
  • Beautiful gore effects upon death
    • Bloody limbs and body parts fly in arcs through the air leaving momentary blood trails behind
  • Arrows and throwing weapons stick to their targets
    • A feature you may have seen in games like Oblivion or Mount&Blade
  • You can disembowel enemies by slashing them while they are stumbling!
  • You can impale enemies by lunging through them while they are stumbling!
AI enemies
  • They are capable of kicking you, throwing stuff at you, using power slam, shooting at you...
  • Some of them will also limp when their health is low enough
  • Only present in the Boss Mode for now
Bots
  • Blades 'n Gore II supports AI controlled bot players.
  • During setting selection the host can select a bot threshold, which is basically a player count number.
    • If the actual player count is less than the selected number, bots will fill the missing slots.
  • Also, if a player leaves the game and bot threshold has been set, a bot will take over the leaving player to keep the player count in the defined amount.
  • The bots are currently available for deathmatch, team deathmatch, and boss mode.
Character Customization
  • Players can customize their character's gender, face and hairstyle
  • You can earn customization unlocks by reaching the required ranks!

The systems are complex and there are many nuances and subtleties that will easily go unnoticed at first.
However, you will only have to play the game for 5 minutes to grasp the concept and to understand the basics.
Defend [Q] - Protects you from incoming damage. You must be facing the damage source to block the damage.

I regret showing this map to my friends now since i showed it to them they want me to play this game with them almost every single day but i've gotta admt this is one hell of an awesome map

A problem. I can't play even I join the Garena group. I'm out of the member's range.
Ah yes, the group gets full quite fast but I have now once again removed some inactive members so there is space in the group again.

Also a note to all current and upcoming garena group members:
Say something in the group chat every once in a while.
I use the "Last message posted in group"-info to measure user activity in the group.
When room is needed for new members I will always remove users who have never posted in the group or haven't posted in months.

This update mainly features balance fixes to equipment as well as a fix to a bug that on some occasions caused a throwing weapon to instantly kill a player on full health.

Extremely well made map, with an original, very smooth combat system. Plus, items and character customization is great. Gameplay cant be any smoother and better. Terrain is also nice. Modes are satisfiying and fun (i liked battle zone the most). Don't know what to add. I've seen billion maps since 2002, but i can easily say this is one of the best maps ever made. Cant wait for new updates

it's bcz duel arena is a bit boring 1vs1, especially when there are lots of players in the game and you have to w8 a lot...

I suggest you to create a story mode. That would be awsome.

Yeah, this map was actually supposed to be a story-driven single player campaign in the first place.
However, due to the massive amount of work required I converted it into a multiplayer map instead.

As you can see from the version changelog, I am attempting to build the map step-by-step towards a more story-driven, more RPG-ish style.

Hmm? You mean using the player rank to unlock weapons?
That is something that I want to avoid, since I don't want people with higher rank to have more actual combat power than low ranking players.
But perhaps some alternate looking variations of existing weapons, or some attachable custom effects or ornaments. I'll think about it...

Or you can add troops buying for capture points. Or even destroyable troop spawners! This will add small AoS element to domination mod.
Also you can make two captain players in the begining in some team-based modes (may be max rank players - they are most experienced often?) and they will choose fiters one by one, like this: red captain takes player 3, blue takes player 6, red takes player 9 and etc. You can make only them to be able to spend capture points.

This update consists mainly of bug fixes and tweaks to improve the game.
I have been busy at the moment so I haven't had time to make significant progress on any major map features now.
However, I'll see if I can get something done during the weekend.




I think captains is a good idea for any type of team-based mods.
By the way, are you going to have some offitial tournaments? May be with a hall of fame for winners?
Hmm yes captains sounds good but I'll have to see if I have time to implement it.
Also, there has been some discussion about organizing tournaments but nothing has been completely decided yet.

Yes, I am thinking of improving and expanding the AI at some point.
Yeah more items are planned.
I will probably add some after I have done some tweaking to the game mode systems, which are in pretty horrible shape at the moment.
And yes, auto attack is weak since it uses no stamina and stamina management is a central part of the combat system. Also, since the combat abilities have no cooldowns, the standard auto attacking loses it's importance and mainly serves as an aesthetic feature.

Hmm... Maybe make some thing like "BnG Single player" "BnG RPG"??
Yeah, perhaps. Although since the map already supports multiplayer, I would also have cooperative mode as an option.
However, any RPG modes or similar will not be coming for a while since there is still plenty of work in improving and expanding the currently existing modes, systems and other content.


Anyway.
I'm planning on making some redesigning on the game mode & game settings systems next.
That is because at the moment those systems are very lazily done and thus editing them or adding new modes or features takes too much time.

After those systems have been redesigned, I can start adding new terrain areas to the map as well as finally implementing the much requested new game modes and game mode settings.

We'll see how that turns out.
I'll try to have the next update ready by next week.
 
The boss mode is too hard for only 2 players. Is it possible to make it more easier for noobs like me?

It is very possible to beat the mode with any amount of players.
When you go low on health, use the pillars as cover while you drink to get your health back.
Also, remember to keep moving and make good use of the slash ability.

Phew...
It took some time to optimize the systems, to fix the lazy triggering, and to fix all the bugs caused by the aforementioned improvements.

Anyway! This update brings the requested time limit setting for deathmatch and team deathmatch as well as some slight improvements to character customization.
