Changes made. Seems like a lovely map for RPers. Approved.
A credits list in the map description with the names of the authors whose resources you've used is mandatory. That includes models, skins, icons, custom spells, systems. Also, sounds, music and everything outside this site.
This helps you with the models, skins and icons from Hiveworkshop: Resources in use by Age of Azeroth v1.0
A lot of names that need crediting, missing from the credits list.

Awaiting Update.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Quite a good map for RPers. My friends and I have already played and we've laughed when one failed drastically to invade one of us, he even claimed that the one who was trying to invade had much defenses, practically unbeatable. Was a very funny momment which this map has brought me. I would recommend it for everyone sincerely.

Is possible to play singleplayer with AI? And if not will there be in the future?
I'm afraid we don't have the required knowledge to make this happen, but we would definitely be open to steering the map's direction this way.

I'll look into whether it's even possible to create AI for a map like AoA, given that it was designed specifically for RP purposes. You can always try hosting an online RP session of the map, but I understand your point and will do my best to make this happen.

The terrain is great. I wish my map would be more like the actual WoW which I never really played.
What about quests?
I like that I can start anywhere on the map with any base but some kind of objective/quest would be nice or is it simply killing bosses and building a base? Maybe it is because I played alone in single player (got unlimited resources and can train any heroes I want).

AI should not be too complicated but some work.
All you need is create campaign AIs and create some starting units for computer players.
AI will just build a base and hunt creeps or attack players (depends on the AI script) but every faction will need a separate script.

Hey Barade, thanks for your comment! As I’ve mentioned before, this map was always intended to be purely "roleplaying" since there are already plenty of fantastic RPG/progression-based maps set in WoW. This map is more of a playground for creative players that like to just mess around and create their own stories/content in it and the same thing goes for the multiplayer version.

Lately tho, I've had several people ask about the possibility of a competitive/RPG oriented version of the map. I’m definitely open to the idea, especially since we went out of our way and paid close attention to unit balance, unlike other roleplaying maps, which could make the AI oriented version much smoother.

I have practically no experience with creating AI scripts tho, so that’s definitely a limiting factor for me. If you have any ideas or advice, feel free to reach out, I’d really appreciate it! :pcon:

Yes, absolutely! AoA allows one person to control multiple factions at the same time.
It actually doesn't, but I now realize that I asked my question in a less than optimal way, so you misunderstood what I meant.

Regardless, this map can't do what I hoped it could, but it's all good.

Actually you can use "Trigger" For Creating Whatever you like , Whenever you like in "Region" Just dont Exceed Limit Too much
for Example in 1.27 WC3 Max Doodad Limit 8920 (EXAMPLE NUMBER) and if you Exceed it like 999999999 with Trigger the Game Crashes , didnt Tested on Newer Version 1.30 +++ ( +++ means OR_Higher ) but im pretty sure you can still do that and with Trigger you can Make things that being "Hardcoded " is actually hard
Good Luck , Have Fun

Playing on the current version of Reforged, 2.0.2.22761, saved a game file to work on setting up a world just for fun solo. I haven't created much, only a couple spots have buildings in Tyr's Hand, Stratholme, and that's about it, so I wouldn't think the problem would be too many doodads or units or something, since I haven't started populating it yet. Everything was fine loading the save file the first few days, but I tried loading it on maybe the third, fourth, or fifth day, but the game crashes every time before the loading bar finishes. Is this a known bug?

I'm sorry you're having this issue.

It's a known Warcraft 3 limitation, as over time, heavy building and frequent saves cause save file bloat, eventually making the file too large or complex for the engine to load.

Unfortunately, this is an inherent problem with how Warcraft 3 handles large custom maps, and it's not something I can fully fix. The only possible fix I have is to play longer sessions if u can. :sadpanda:

I played the Map today and its amazing! But i have some Lagging at the Maelstrom, Gilneas and the Nightelve Base under the Hyjal are u supposed to play it with Reforged graphics ?
I dont think so, its sd/classic only and i would advise any bigger custom map to be played like so. It also could be that lag os due to triggerwork. Wc3 in general struggles if too much is happening cpu wose as its a single core game so modern cpus dont do anything for it to be better unless they have gigantic clockspeeds(4.5-5+ Ghz).

I'm glad you liked the map! :pgrin: It's supposed to be played in Classic graphics, I'm sure the map is playable to some extent in Reforged graphics too, but it was always intended for the og Warcraft 3 look. :pcon:

Hello, I am a single player builder who loves the storyline of World of Warcraft very much. This is the best Warcraft map I have ever encountered. I usually play offline alone. May I ask if it is possible to release a version that does not require a population requirement when creating heroes? Due to population limitations, the offline experience is not perfect. Can we cancel the population requirement for creating heroes? (The translation tool I used may not express it very well.)

Hello, thanks for the positive feedback! I'm currently working on probably the biggest update for the map so far.

Part of this update will be an option to choose between singleplayer and multiplayer version of the map. The singleplayer version is going to have multiple new features, such as controlling multiple player slots at once and also have the hard limits of population expanded. :psmile:

Make sure to keep an eye on AoA Project page Age of Azeroth Project , where I post news and development progress of the new update in the "Forging Azeroth" tab. :pgrin:

Received. Thank you very much for your reply. The exquisite quality of this picture can reflect your dedication. As a player who has always loved the Warcraft stories since childhood, I am very grateful for your efforts. As a Chinese gamer celebrating the traditional Chinese festival Spring Festival at this time, I wish you a happy new year. I hope you and your family have a smooth, happy and healthy life. I will continue to look forward to your finished product. This map has become the source of my happiness during my free time from work, and it was also the reason why I suddenly thought of climbing over the wall to leave a message to convey the information today. Finally, thank you for your meticulous production. My English is very poor, so I used a translation tool. If there are any grammar errors, please understand.

Excuse me, boss. I'm sorry, it's still me. I've been playing this map continuously lately, and I've noticed three problems during my personal gameplay. Let's take a look together:
① The portal model is relatively small, and it is difficult to click on the teleportation in the actual process. I teleported through the location on the small map.
② On the map, there are areas covered by stones, such as the main city of dwarves. In actual gameplay, I personally feel that it is difficult to check the specific address and see if it can be deleted.
③ After building multiple terrains, after saving and loading, I am not sure if it is a problem with my computer or a bug in the map. The game colors on the map become abnormally strange (a bit like the feeling of excessive saturation)
There are two terrain issues next: Dalaran and the Dark Temple. Dalaran has been destroyed in the timeline, but can it be rebuilt on the map in the future? I'm not sure at which time the cut-off point set in the game for the Dark Temple feels like it hasn't been found on the map.
I'm sorry for bringing up these issues during the map update process. I hope everything goes smoothly in development. I'm really sorry to bother you. (I'm still using the translator, if there's any inappropriate expression, please let me know. I'm very sorry.)

Hello, unfortunately I'm not entirely sure whether I have all the answers for you, because I'm getting a bit lost in the translation. No worries though. :plol:

1. You will need to be more specific here, since there are lots of portals on the map, do you mean the interior teleporters or a different type of portal?

2. Only thing I can think of is the Underground Dome effect, but as far as I know, it shouldn't be obstructing the playable are, could you show me a screenshot of the issue?

3. This is sadly unfixable problem: "It's a known Warcraft 3 limitation, as over time, heavy building and frequent saves cause save file bloat, eventually making the file too large or complex for the engine to load." Again, my only recommendation here would be to play longer sessions of the map, rather than reloading, if possible.

4. For Dalaran, there was a creative decision to have the crater in Hillsbrad Foothills, because there would be too many major cities in close proximity and it simply wouldn't fit. There is a repaired version of Dalaran as a moveable flying structure in Crystalsong Forest, that can open a teleporter to its interior.

5. As for the "Dark Temple" I'm not quite sure what place are you referring to, perhaps Black Temple in Outland? If yes, Outland is not present in current version of AoA, but I might reconsider it in the future updates.

For bug reports or gameplay suggestions, please post them on the AoA Discord server in #aoa-bug-report or #aoa-ideas, it's easier for me to respond to them and discuss them in more detail. :pcon:

Due to the time difference, I just finished reading this message. Thank you for your reply.
① The portal here refers to the type when the Tower of Medivh enters, and I personally feel that it's not easy to click on the icon to teleport.
② I feel that this is a personal perspective issue or a result of the ③ problem. I just opened a new image and found that there is no issue with my history. If there is any issue in the future, I will take a screenshot for feedback.
③ Thank you, because China's Battle.net has closed and the popularity of Warcraft is low, it is difficult to have a place for interaction and communication.
④ Understood, the design of the New Dalaran is indeed very cool.
⑤ Yes, it refers to the overall design of the Outland. Due to work hours, I haven't played World of Warcraft for a long time. The previous version I played was Legion Returns and Dragon Age Phase 1, so there may be issues with my understanding of the Outland map.
If there is anything I would like to discuss in the future, I will go to the AoA Discord server for it. Thank you very much for creating this very perfect map with care. You are really great.
