About the models so far:
Inf3rnos Mechstrider: Even its not really a new idea it looks well so far.

HT's Demonrider: Looks cool so far. Its just something missing, but i cant point at it.

Pyramidhe@ds Nerubian: Its something new to see. Keep it up and hopefuly dont fail at animating. Also maybe you cathegorize it as Quyraij or how these Beetles are called.

HT: The demon mount is awesome, but the rider's face looks retarded.

I still don't know which of my two ideas I should choose.
I'll copy my earlier quote from this thread, with some edits.

I have two ideas but I don't know which I shall choose for this compo.

1. A goblin riding some kind of a tauren-like robot. Base model would be the Tauren and the totempole thingy would be used as a cannon.

2. A Shroomian "Harlequin Magi" riding on a horse-like creature (a little taste from my race wip). The reason I would name it "Harlequin Magi" is because of the wizard's scary make-up and his abilities to cause fear to enemies. Base model would be the Pit Lord since I want this character to be a standard unit than a hero, and to make this interesting of course.

I'll use model edit because I still have to learn about scratch animating for Warcraft III.
What are your thoughts?

Yeah, rider looks retarded :p I am going to redo him, but I wonder, should I go for "FATTY DEMON!!111!" style or cool muscular demon?

Ok, here are some wip screenies.

This is a flying bug carrying a worm. The attacking partner is the worm, which will spit acid bolts, or else.

Here are details of the model:
- Made from scratch (even if it looks like the nerubian models, i swear it's from scratch)
- It will surely use IG textures, except the worm texture.
- Worm texture based on the DuneWorm texture
- Flying bug uses nerubian IG textures
- At this moment, the model has about 160 poly


Things to be fixed/added
- The "legs" of the flying bug
- its head too (both texture and meshes
and
- animation of course

Anyways, area around shoulders looks funny, also, extrude his back and tail and then collapse upper vertices. You know you want to. Or, if you don't want to do that, just collapse already existing vertices out there. It looks way too flat right now.

Well, the concept was a bombard flying unit. I tought about that when i saw the brood queen of the warhammer 40k tyranid race: a symbiose between the queen itself, and another bioform that fuse in its back. The "parasite" bioform uses ranged weapon, using bio-ammo produced by the queen metabolism.

I thought it would have been great to see something like that, that why the concept of a flying bug (with the texture, we can say it's a nerubian flying unit) unable to attack by itself, but by using a larva lifeform able to spit corrosive acid , it sidesteps its weakness.

That the origin of this unit ^^.

And well, the mesh is done imo, it's boned, and right now i'm animating it.

I added "spheres" to extend the eyes, and the legs.

'course, if you have any suggestion, i'll be pleased to read them

Here's mine so far. It'll be a troll mage riding on a raptor when it's done. I'm going to model the Elite Mount armor from scratch and add it through geomerging. The raptor's base is mostly done now.

My Nerubian Flying Bombarder is finally over. Yet, I let you test it ^^

Here are some advise:

- Base this unit on the GryphonRider
- Change the arc projectile to 0
- Change the projectile model to the Naga snap one
- Change the sounds to whatever you want
- that's it ^^

If you wish to change the skin, you can swap with the Nerubian queen one, but not the Cryptfiend one.

The anims are:

- Stand 1 : Nothing appears to be interesting ^^
- Stand 2 : The Larva gets his "tongue" out
- Stand 3 : The Nerubian accidently drops the Larve, but get it back very quickly. The larva didn't like that "joke" et trys to spit on him

- Walk : beh.... they're flying
- Attack : The larva gets bigger from its tail to its head, and spits an acid bold (there's only a very little spread of green liquid, you have to choose your missile :smile: ). The Nerubian is pulled back by the Larva contractions.
- Death : beh... the larva is dropped, and they smoothly disappear.
- Portrait : you want a pic??? :p

Of course, keep in mind to give credits if you use it in your maps.

Troll bits mostly done now too. Trying to think up something interesting for his arms/clothes though. And I'll probably change the color of his beard to white or green.

I think I may be done now. I've added team color and armor to the raptor and gotten rid of the beard since it didnt look good no matter how I tried it. Ignore the white coming through his mouth, its his teeth for the portrait, they dont show up any other time.

to calahan, that is one bigass rat. i am glad your making something kobald because nobody seems to make them. personally i hate them kobalds but yours look cool

anyways here is what my centipede and rider looks like.

here is mine just playing around with a 360 view thing and rendering, my camera isnt quite centered so the spin is kid of weird but meh. He is the bell toller the mounted guy will be small and in a bell tower on his back. edit: added wireframe, he is pretty high poly but whatevs

Kobold Ratorg rider Entrie

It's a Kobold Ratorg Rider.

He use a Whip as weapon or to scold slaves.
He reprimand the ratorg at stand 3 anim.
It use the critical strike sound on attack =)

A Ratorg is a Giant rat twice the size of a wolf.Kobold can tame them for their slavery and mining use.

NB: In the screenshot the porrtrait look messed up but i've fixed it afterwhile.
And the death animation look screwed up in the viewer but it's ok in game.

Edit :
-fixed a hole on the kobold.
-Added a Hood to Ratorg.

looks great, but is there a portrait?

here is a 360 view and a wireframe of the finished mesh. I have also finished unwrapping, skinning is next, and then animating. The little guy up above is the mounted unit, he will be in the tower and will ring the bell.
