Hey cant you guys release the soldier models and weapons before the map? I really want them. Also, that would be great advertising!

We actually talked about that a long time ago, but we didnt know anyone who could host.

@Baassee: Yes, but vJass is just an enhancment to jass, and you can still refer to it as so.
The map is actually currently not using that much vJass simply because there is no need for it. On the other hand there are still a few things left to code once we get our editors sorted out.
 
It is somewhat closer to Flash AS2, which is the first kind of computer language that i learnt, but generally i think it would turn out quite clumsy to use another compiler for this map since there is nothing i specifically need for other reasons than pure lazyness (like the ability to use "++" or "--" as increment/decrement by one on variables).

Are you asking if its possible and how its done? If so, post in the trigger section of the forum.

Or was that an suggestion for the map? We don't have any villagers, but yes it's possible to make.

Surrendered soldiers would be easier. Although Germans usually captured a lot of Jewish people and put them on Concentration Camps. In the game, that could be useful if these prisoners worked for the country that captured them, generating some extra income.

Since they said there were no Civilians, i think that would be pretty hard.

edit: i just saw Minor Allies playable side. so one player controls all minor allies, i guess that will be pretty hard but it is expected to be occupied

hm then i should repeat the post i edited hour ago: i saw you used model of an artillery piece of army of yugoslavia, so it would be nice for example when russia liberates belgrade to get control of yugoslavian army.

Hmm.. as far as i remember, this was only used rarely in WW1 by sapper squads, and practically not at all during WW2. It is pretty cool from a strategic perspective, like the nydus worms in SC2, but i think it might turn out awkward in a WW2 setting.

I got it!

You should be able to use trains as transports for some of your units.

And maybe some Units could be made just for the sake of spying:)
Like, whenever you 'cast' something on an enemy structure, it will report on the structure and the enemy's resources.

Sounds good, maybe make another Menu to check for the spied information list (Meaning stuff that you used your spy to get information from other players).

how bout an AI for neutral countries liek norway or denmark or possibly spain & portugal & swizterland and carribean isles & african free countries (if there was any)

like african free states AI will try to kick out brtish/french/italian influences
 
WOWWARS: Yes, this will be done. We decided to remove the minor countries as playable nations since they were meant to get pwned anyways, which is no fun for the player. Theese are now AI controled.

@Miss_Foxy: I actually suggested the spying idea in the old thread, but i think we decided that players wouldn't bother to protect themselves from enemy spies since you have too much land to keep track on. You are propably going to want to focus on the bigger picture while playing.

@Total_Warrior: i don't understand your suggestion.. can you explain further?
 
I meant like an idea of some custom menu where the players can call in off map support like artillery barrages, air strikes/bombing runs/strafing runs, drop 6 paratroopers, recon plane etc. Though these would have quite a long cooldown since you obviously wouldn't want the player to mass barrages and strikes everywhere. These would go in order from recon plane(basic)to lets say artillery barrage(best) and the players would unlock them in order as their experience or score gets higher.

Artillery barrages doesn't make sense, since there's already AT-Guns and Self-propelled artilleries and I think there's no need for bombing run/air strikes, since there's already tactical and strategical bomber units in the game. But I liked the recon plane and the paratroopers. But uh... only 6 paratroopers? :p. And also, para-drop planes are usually used by special forces, like S.A.S (they were para-dropped alot in France). And recon planes could be controlable units, like fighters, so the player can use them however he wants.

Actually, SAS were only used in Africa against Rommel. And no, paradrops werent used by special forces only, since these didnt exist in the terms it does today. I mean, ever heard of Paratroopers? They were just normal infantry with a little bit higher training.
