Uh yeah that's not normal, is that in reforged graphics? I don't know how it works for those <.<

If you type e.g. ".mdl" it will say "Unknown" in the unit editor and use your own portrait, at least in classic
Ok, the issue was there were 2 models for a single char, a playable one and a cinematic one. The cinematic one for some reason had the path file for the model it was based on, whereas the playable hero did not. I changed the cinematic one's path to _ (no model), and that fixed it. Thanks!

Although you cannot pick the option 'None' from menu when opening list of portrait models, you can check some other units like Footman that do have the value 'None'. Highlighting the Portrait model File field in object editor and pressing ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+v to paste it to your custom unit will copy the 'None' value.
It's kinda retarded that you have to do it that way, but it is what it is.
I just wrote underscore _ in the path file, and that seemed to do the trick.

You can just put a whitespace in there, and the correct portrait will show up as well. As long as the file path is not pointing to an actual model, the correct portrait will show up.

was the grass always cut in a square shape around buildings? how come I didn't notice before? is it because new textures are AI garbage? they look so bad you notice its not even seamless lol.
just look at that shit.
the campaign cliff looks like shit.
also the bald spots in the grass texture are so noticeable now, that I had to go checking every square of grass on my maps and clicking it away, 6 hours doing this shit lol.
also ended removing the "splats" from the human buildings, could not take how ugly they where.
and for some reason, f5 now lowers the camera height instead of just snap you back to position lol.
if you are using 1800/1900, and you hit f5, it brings you back to 1650 or other random height.

they also forgot the navigate through map folder with arrow keys, pain in the ass having to click every map to check it lol.

Warcraft III Classic doesn't look right with the more lighting feature they added for 2.0 patch...
Never mind the whole new thing is a thing added for the Reforged mission...
Makes it night-time for them in order to sneak around and what not...

they remake the loading bar for whatever reason, and they leave the glowing end misaligned.
had to crop and move down till its centered.

Could someone ask in the blizzard forum, if there is ever gonna be an update for the minimap? "REFORGED" minimap would be nice.
permabanned for bullshit reasons.

Why is no one talking about the collapse of old maps data with the latest patch from two days ago? This is an absolute catastrophe that makes a majority of custom maps at least mildly bugged or at worst unplayable. There needs to be a motion to roll back this horror. Did I miss something or is Hive indeed not really highlighting this problem?

The Santa Claus that named "Blizzard" keeps gifting us poop with every patch in real time.
Some SD Water textures also vanished. They deleted _balance folder and deprecated folder.

The staffs and resource reviewers have already had extensive discussions about these updates on the Hive Discord, which is great for real-time analysis and debate whenever the game build gets updated. Due to the nature of the website, it might feel a bit rigid in comparison.

I can't speak for other people but I've been passionate about making custom stuff on War3 since 2002 ish, and that's why to me I'm just so tired of the corporate bosses ignoring what this game could have been, in my opinion, that I don't really feel like i have the energy to go and complain when I don't believe in Brad Chan to fix the issues. Maybe it's time for someone like you to take up the reigns, who is somehow still willing to use the live client for your activities instead of a backup of a previous game version where the technology actually works.
 
there should be an option to only allow the player to use skins. hate when the enemie comes with some weird stuff instead of the original heroes.
the only skin I have in use is jaina, the rest is done by allow local, to add some changes to original heroes or custom models.

tree are still not fixed
-icecrown tree wall looks fucked up.
-dalaran ruins/cityscape ruined tree wall, still using the new garbage texture, even when "use old terrain" is selected.
was trying to extract the textures from the game and replace them manually but can't find them lol.

edit. icecrown tree wall is only fucked up when using old terrain.

The natives "AddSpecialEffect" and "AddSpecialEffectLoc" also don't work for classic effects with the "war3.w3mod:" filepath when you input them in Reforged.
