Well, I for one need the static ones so even if they're not animated it's not too big of a deal. I guess you could release them in 2 sets - animated and stock.
Yeah that is pretty much the idea. I'll just update them with animations later when I fix them and you will be able to replace them if you want to do so.

Rocks, today. I didn't get to finish the stuff yesterday.

By the way, the grass is like that. I have been long messing with grass but it seems making it this way is the best, the texture size is very low, it does not shade like ass (because that is what the shading usually does on flat planes) and it looks just as fine when viewed from above. It does look more cartoony but so does the rest of the pack.
So yeah, it does have much higher polycount tho so try not to spam :p

Awesome, can't wait for rocks. I want to ask about pine set though, are they ready?

Awsum, those are Sexy:)

full heartedly agree with you but I want to ask, are the rocks and trees also high on polies as although we can easily be economical with grass and bushes, it's harder to do so with trees and rocks.

Above average polycount on both. Not too high though.
Or see for yourself with the firs.
It is just one of the sets and it is incomplete, but hey. Start doing something at least ? :p and give feedback.

I didn't add it to the OP yet as it is still subject to change. I don't have much time on weekdays so Ill upload it in pieces.
I'll add about 30 other rocks from the 4 other sets today and some more models from the crag/cove set mainly.

Sorry for the constant delays, it takes time that I don't have much of on the weekdays so I can rarely fix more than 4~5 models a day.
~ Cheers

Very cool models, especially the the firs, really like the vivid colors, unlike most other trees and yet the don't look too cartoony like the vanilla ones. As for the rocks, sorry for the dumb question but which set was the winter one again?

All of them except for cove and mesa. They all have winter alt variants, but I didn't export those yet.
Frankly the crag rocks are a bit meh, so I may redo them based on feedback.
The firs will also get snow variants probably later today.

I'll definitely export more rocks later today (around 30 more from 4 other sets) so yeah, it's just that there is 70~ rocks alone and 50 of them have snow variants.

Fantastic. Can't wait for snow variants since my project is all winter themed and I kinda need them to make headway. Eagerly awaiting updates. Stellar job Talavaj!

Yes, when most of the stuff is exported. At the moment the pack is more of a "preview" file.

Here are all the current rocks (that will be in the pack later today) swamp and mesa rocks aren't game ready yet.
Some of the assets may be WIPs/concepts so try out how they work and report.

I'm in love with the ones to the left. I think I'll be using their current look as my snow rocks <3

There are snowy firs/rocks in the folder already. Check them out and tell me whether they are passable or look too much like seminal fluids.
Also consider the filesize, the textures are not compressed at the moment so they can be about 20~30% less still.
I tried to optimize every single bit of texture space though so I'm hoping the final size won't be too much.

The firs are cool though the rocks, I'll be honest, could use some more work. Currently, I'd say the rocks on the left end of the picture actually look better in terms of winter rock. The default style is very cool on all however.

Ok then.
Reuploaded, contains all the rocks and the fir trees and the crag set in now updated snow versions.
Tomorrow I'll start with bushes/trees from the cove and from the crag sets and add snow variants to the remaining sets that are already here.

Cove rocks are too awesome, they are second to none.

Request:
1. Mountain Tile and Ice Tile, your rocks are amazing but would it not be even more awesome if the Mountain tiles fit them?
The regular Warcraft ice tile is bad imo, can you make something that actually resembles ice?
2. Add Archs that use the same texture as the rocks.

This is just small stuff but you should probably make the rocks smaller since they look so big even with 50 XYZ size. Doesn't really worth using them as big rocks since the texture become so blurry.

I would actually suggest simply providing a 128x128 or even 256x256 texture for those who don't mind the extra file size and are looking for high graphical fidelity.

The textures are already 128x128, the models are up scaled because of the wonky wc3 extents, if I make them smaller and you end up making them bigger they will not render correctly around the edges of the screen. (which was one flaw I did in modular manor)
You can make them smaller in the editor however with no ill effects, they are supposed to be at around 0.7 size. (50% scale makes them significantly smaller than vanilla rocks so I'm not sure what you are referring to)

256x256 would be above 200kb each, and also would require a new texture as I don't have one which would be annoying to make.
What I can do though is make a slab type of rock for each set that would be bigger and have higher resolution texture and could be used for cliffs and such while keeping these for the ground level doodads to fill the gaps in between.

Something like the very large boulder type rock to the right on this picture ?

I just imported everithing there is at the moment, it took a while but now I can start terraining.

Thank you for this amazing pack. If you need the map with all models imported and sorted in the OE i will gladly share it.

I also noticed some of these models are in the UTM 4.0 but not all of them.

Yes they have been added there without my permission, but hey its is very hard to expect standards from this site.

And please, no further "sharing" maps with my assets. (you are obviously free to share your creations, just not the templates) The OP clearly states you have no right to redistribute them anywhere outside of this thread.
If you want a map template will all the packs combined, just request away and I can do that.

I hope they AT LEAST gave you credits. Still its unacceptable to redistribute others work.

You should tell them to rather just add a link to this thread instead of redistributing them.

He references to the part I edited out, "go to hell", after "You should tell them to"

It was a joke, but yeah, it can be misunderstood so I edited it out

After a long long period of revising (I feel I'm still kinda really bad with trees :( lol ) I ended up with the first two tree sets (for the cove set) looking like this.
I'll start adding the cove foliage tomorrow.

Those look mighty sexy Talavaj, if you think otherwise, then I'd have to agree with Purge.
