Gheez why you are all talking about imbalanced heroes. How can you say imbalanced since we havent given anything to compare them to.

I think my hero will be strong but not imbalanced, because i designed it to be in aos kind of map.

Things to that should be used on judging should be:

- eye candy
- usefulness
- syngergy
- code
- originality

balance comes after we get something to compare to..

And I dont see any point comparing to blizzards heroes, since 99% of custom maps are nothing like them.

We're just comparing the balance to wc3 heroes because it's a constant that everyone has. Everyone's paladin is the same, for example, so it's a good thing to compare to.

And the balance is necessary so that people don't go overboard with their spells' damage.

my hero actually beats enemy heroes by defending XD. Cast envenom and have your shield of vengeance at high level, it triggers every time and maybe even twice if you're lucky. When it comes to massive battles, the guardian can withstand a lot of beating and play nice support with his ult(binds enemies in place, perfect for ranged attackers to pick them off)

Heh,mines a great anti-undead hero. He slows all Undead units and damages them slightly with Mare Aura, then either uses his Battlechest ability to land a few quick strikes before running. When he gets his ultimate (Shadow Aspect) his upgrade bonuses (Iron Forged Swords, Priest Upgrades, Iron Forged Armor, Storm Hammers) are disregarded, his attack speed goes up and he deals chaos damage, for only 30 seconds.

Due to his Shadow Aspect form being strong enough already, I lower his mana upon casting so he can't gain a HP boost from Battlechest. Hes also quite slow, so any overpowering strength of his is pretty well cancelled out if hes facing live opponents.

Well mine is going to not really have any special things... like stronger against one race than another. He will also probly be more of a 1v3 at the max. His abilities concentrates more on single opponents than a mass of them. Although two will effect alot of units, but in the end only one will be hurt with a considerable amount.

Still need to think of ult so it could change alot of what I said haha.

Heh, well at the rate things are going, Ancients will be affected aswell as the undead.Iunno why, but his AOE spell seems weak, but it does good enough damage.

All of his spells take 100+ mana. At lvl10, he only has 375 mana, but thats without upgrades so it really does put emphasis on upgrading your army.

Having powerful moves that require recovery isn't a bad way to go. It helps the player focus more on the army than the hero, which happens a lot in this game (level 10 heroes become 1 man armies). Requiring strategy to make them win against enemies isn't a bad thing.

Well the default heroes took all the base ideas, so hard to come up with original stuff, and even if it's original it can usually be compared to some default spells, which is what happens when you edit a game and not make your own haha.

Revellion, one bad part. 2mb limit on maps, and if everyone's map is even just 1mb, combining will be f-ed up

That is exagerated,Mephisto didnt even used Imported Material ,so his map is small,I use only 2 icons and 2 models,so it has over 400kb

Therefore,Combining them all in a map will not be fed up,we participants, are really few,all I can count is 10 at least

And talking about campaigns ,It will be a bomb.

You can use custom sounds just watch copyrights and give credits, I almost used a song by disturbed, but i'm pretty sure that breaks copyrights.

Yeah my map is almost 1mb haha it's 700kb or so now. I may add a 1.1mb interface just to match my hero but i'm not doing it for extra points. Don't want anyone getting wrong impression, I want to add eye candy for the purpose eye candy usually serves lol. Not to get extra points cause I know it wouldn't anyways. I have up too 2mb and i'm going to use them lol. I don't max out on maps, just it's contest map so why not go nuts? ;D

Elemental creeps?

Mine is command buttons and interface to match my demon hero. Only other units you'll use is undead(maybe) and mercenaries(maybe) both optional, so the interface and buttons kinda match mercenaries but fit right along with undead.

But I have icons and models for the hero himself. Like he didn't have a default hero glow, and no matching icon so had to find one close, and most of my spells are too unique for default icons.

Well,my Idea came from the units model, three Titans that were cursed to live as one beast, all togheter,a three heade Hydra that has an elemental Attribute for each head, attacks three targets ,logically it has three heads, and has a synergy that doesent comes in battle,it comes in logic. The ultimate is based on three units, the spells are based on the attributes and many many more

Here's my submission, the Chronomancer (aka Time Mage).

He has the ability to manipulate time and can learn:

Rift:
Created a vortex on a target area. When land units (both enemy and friendly) are above the vortex, they will take damage per second and will have their movement speed cut in half. Last 10 seconds.

Haste:
Gives a target friendly unit increased movement speed and attack rate for 10 seconds.

Slowmotion Aura (passive):
Nearby enemy units will have reduced movement speed and attack rate.

Time Stop (ultimate):
Stops the time, freezing everyone but the Chronomancer for 30 seconds.
Credits to:
Dan van Ohllus - For the idea and custom spells (though my Time Stop was inspired from Darky30's Time Stop).
Nasrudin - For the Gnome Warlock model.
JetFangInferno - For the GrandHumanAura and WaterSlow models.
Daelin - For the GrandHumanAura skin.
Matilda_Knights - For the TimeRune model.
PurgeandFire111 - For the Swirly Blast icon (Rift).
Blizzard Entertainment - For the Wc2 Haste and WoW Time Stop icons.
Fulla - For giving me the hint of how to do negative effects in Ability data numbers.
