Ironically, the EVE battleship "Nyx" was the only ship that happened to match my Planet Crackers. Pure coincidence, but it was near 100% perfect. Pure coincidence in design, to the panel. (hull armoured panels) But, my Planet Crackers lack the runway and green lights. :p) Other than that, most of my ships happen to be custom or cannon ships from Freespace 2 :p (The drone was made by Misha :3)

Holy cow that things rigged for destruction!

The Planet Cracker? In a good or bad way? (for me) :p Still, my specs of the ship are different than EVE's. Mine has 15 feet of Reinforced Nanosteel (very expensive commission, which is why only 3 exist)
What's disturbing is that the Nyx has no turrets of any sort, unlike my Planet Crackers :p

Laser turrets, flak guns, missile launchers (imbedded, not rotating :p Harder to destroy effectively. :p), railguns, beam cannons. What a wonderful assortment :3 Along with shields and drones! :D My flagship could be a blockade runner if I wanted :3 Then again, so could my Planet Crackers XD

Gath_Stormer isn't up to date with the races at this point, so he has laid the task of dis/approving my races to the other RP'ers here. Here are the links to pages with my race entries, in order:

http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/roleplaying-370/future-rp-construction-thread-127689/index85.html
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/roleplaying-370/future-rp-construction-thread-127689/index87.html
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/roleplaying-370/future-rp-construction-thread-127689/index89.html

I would appreciate a yes/no answer for the two races from everyone, and please explain a "no" if you give one. Thanks, and I look forwards to actually joining the RP.

A 5 meter long snake? o_O "Mommy, I'm scared" (A human is about 1.70 meters tall, a floor of a building is about 3 meters tall, so these snakes are like... almost 2 floor buildings in length o_O I don't say I disaprove, I actualy find the change in size between races intreging(?) (Oh, btw, I've got a new habit =D, if I don't know how to spell a word, I write what I think it is, and put (?) behind it =D))

^ It's intriguing.
And i approve of Cow's races, though the Medusa race could use some work.
EDIT: If they were dominant, evolution would probably give them limbs. If you don't want to reach for that straw, you can say that they where worshiped by a humanoid race on their planet, who gave them the implants

Yes, they are too big. Once again, my rudementary(?) knowledge of the metric system has failed me. They will be toned down.
As to the (?) habit, I do that too, in the hopes that someone can tell me how to spell it. I think the spelling is intruiging, but I could be wrong.

As to mato2, that is a great idea. I will change it immediatly. As a matter of fact, I'll rework thier entire history to fit that. Thank you!

EDIT: The correct spelling is "intriguing," according to The Google.

It'd be screwed up if the Chozo aided them, and captured some raiders for them, only to find out the raiders looked like humanoid birds too XD

Now that I look at it... it seems simular to the Planet Cracker mining process, but spread out. (usually avoiding wiping out native species where possible) Defend the planet-based mining platform, and contiue mining. :p Cold, military combat suits for guards, and more specialized mining engineer suits for others. :p

Crazy Cow, remember to post all non RP stuff here. That means your race, any discussions about technology, races, etc. In the RP thread, we actually RP. and any questions we have seem to go there. As long as they aren't disscussion between two people. If it absolutely HAS to be there, then do so. but your character info doesn't belong in the RP.

OK i would very much like to join this HOWEVER to read trough this whole thread would take... a whole day. so could someone create a summary of all races created so far? or all characters? also are there any systems included or is it just plain text based? i read to a few pages (about 90) and i must say it looks promising.

Alright, sorry about that.

OOC:
Thank you to everyone, who have approved my two races. I will be using the Medusa at this point, who can be found on page 89 of the construction thread.

CHARACTER:
Name: Quetzal
Race: Medusa
Occupation: Ship Captain
Description/Appearance: Quetzal is an average Medusa, a dark green in color.
Background/Other: As the captain of one of the few surviving Medusa ships, Quetzal carries troops and the occasional tank to raids on Raider settlements with his ship, the Chimera. Quetzal has been a part of the war for only five years, serving on several ships as an emergency control specialist, keeping the ship running to the best of his ability. Just a year ago, he was made captain of the newly-constructed Chimera, and has been leading raids on Raiders ever since. Like most of his race, he is aggressive, confident and impulsive, but his piloting skills have kept him alive through his dozens of engagements. His ship, the Chimera, is a decent sized (12 meters long) ship, with all the defensive measures of a Chimera ship, with two EMP bursts and a missile launcher. The capacity of his ship is twenty average Medusa or one good-sized tank.

Well, there are several rules we've made through the run of the RP, to prevent god-modding mostly and just for personal likings of everybody

Several of them are:
Humans won't be encountered (yet) and can't be played, Earth won't be found until everybody agrees.

Messing with time is taboo.

Teleporting further than a Kilometer/0.4 miles is impossible, teleporting through shields is impossible

Creating permanently stabile wormholes doesn't happen.

Nobody beats a Monstrosity without REALY spending a lot of resources on it (Like the Chozo did, and they didn't even succeed XD) A monstrosity also isn't met easily, or fooled easily.

And offcourse, no God-modding =D

Am I missing something?

Phoonix, you can find everything about my race in my gallery. I decided it was easier there with reference pictures than to try finding it by searching through many pages. not fun. I think everyone else put theirs in the thread. And just so you know, solmaster has two races. The first is a race of energy beings called the Holis, and the second is one Varsaigen made for him, the "originally" honorable North'rodir. Now they are oportunistic and are willing to kill or enslave their enemies and turn on their allies. Var beat them and they asked him to help rebuild their society, only to go and plan attacking again. He seems to be focused on varsaigen, and moving his focuse towards me now. D:

Name: Classified (Known as the Grand Admiral, or Admiral)

Age: 60-ish (lifespan of 200)

Appearance: Standard Chozo physiology, (humanoid, but covered in feathers, and lackign wings) but has the genetics and appearance of a hawk. Most of the current Chozo are birds of prey, though there are some with the appearance of tropical birds.

Occupation: Grand Admiral of the Chozo empire, and Founder of Black Sun Corporation.

History: Born on the Chozo homeworld, he followed his love for science (rare for the times. Much like modern day Earth. Political chaos on a larger scale) and eventually founded the Black Sun Corps. After a multi-system war broke out between the nations of the homeworld, a secret project was initiated by various companies to escape the hell that had come. A project leader was chosen: the founder of Black Sun. Finally, after many years of developement and planning, a break in the fighting produced the best chance they had for escape. Sending a vast fleet from hidden underground bunkers on various planets, the fleet managed to outrun military vessels from many nations and powers. Fleeing into subspace, they wandered the dead galaxy, before deciding the only way they could keep from being persued was to leave for another galaxy. It took ten years to reach the next galaxy, with the crews rotating in stasis, and thousands of subspace jumps, they finally reached a new galaxy, full of life and energy. No longer were they alone in the universe, as they carefully trudged through, looking for a place to call home. After much searching, they found a vast, lush, jungle planet, untouched from civilized hands. Naming it Shakuras "Paradise", they settled upon it, leaving behind their corrupted ways, and instead, pulled forth into a purified civilization of science and peace. Though the decision was a painful rememberance of the past, the Chozo began building a military to defend themselves. Swearing not to use them for the cruel means of their past rulers, they forcefully elected the leader of Black Sun Corps as their new president.

Unwanting of the position, he sought for a way to find a better leader, but was forced to continue as President. Eventually, he was appointed Grand Admiral of the Chozo forces, and used his appointed powers to help in the creation of mining fleets and proper defenses. With the ten year project of te construction of the first Solar Mining Station, the Admiral heralded a new age in fuel collection, allowing a golden age in the economy. With the expantion to other systems, the Chozo colonized planets, setting up a network of subspace gates, permitting travel to anywhere. The Admiral, in order to assure the defense of the Chozo civilization, had military uses built into the most peaceful of technology. The Solar Mining station, shared by many mining corporations and the military, was layered with turrets and a secret operation in the most dire of circumstances. The Admiral plans not to repeat the past of their race, but to ensure the survival of his race, in peace and prosperity, to further develop the science for future generations.

Edit: Sacrid... it's the North'throdir. D: But yes, they are based off of the vikings, and are supposed to be the Norse Gods of Earth mythology before they were forced off by another, development-loving race.

Monstrosities... giant biometal moon-sized stations that went insane. Old war relics, lurking in nebulas. They are the godmod countermeasure. The race that built them no longer control them. The Chozo are getting very cautious when it comes to scouting nebulas for mining purposes now. :/ The closest I've gotten to one is sending Drones over on a rough scan of the Kraken. The thing also destroyed my cruiser and now is mobile, sharing that tech with the others. D: So, I just aided in the improvement of a safety hazard XD But wow, does that thing waste my resources XD And entire fleet and I could melt holes through, but it heals slowly. Kinda hard to destroy a moon. :/ Some of them get bigger D:

well as i said i was going to make a bio-race. it's very hard oO really hard.
Name: Bio'mar
Home Planet:
Bero’malhat a huge planet the size of our earth times 20
Controlled Planets:
no planets tough their planet has 6 huge moons each the size of earth witch they inhabit. These planets are full of wild life.
Life Span:
10.000 Years
Government:
their government is rather simple, every branch of the civilization (military, technological research, department of galactic contact, etc…) has a leader these leaders are in some sort of “Council” here they propose things and of the cannot come to an agreement they just vote. If after the vote there is still protest there is a “President” who has the final decision, this leader changes every 1000 years unless the council decides to elect a new leader.
Leader:
current leader of the council is Ma’lak
Appearance:
the Bio’mar are a humanoid race, they stand about 2 meters6.5 feet) they have a bleu/greenish skin. From there back 4 tentacles grow whom they use to connect to their surroundings. Nowadays they use it for controlling they “biomechanics” at the end of each tentacle a purple crystal hangs, this is what they call “Marani” the connection crystal. They can use it to connect to everything even other bio’mar. when they do this they can read the others mind. These crystal naturally grow at the end of their tentacles tough they are also a resource on Bero’malhat. Their eyes can adapt to any environment thus making it easy for them to see in the dark. They are not physically strong though they are very intelligent, they always first try to negotiate then immobilize and if that does not work they go for the kill tough they hate to harm anything that lives.
Info on energy supply:
The Bio’mars technology is unique in the way you need a bio link to eb able to use it. This link is established whit the tentacles on their back. One of the resources on their planet called “Marani”. It is a crystal that contains large amounts of power, these crystals are charged in the light of their Sun lia’mar, they contain large amounts of energy and are dangerous when they fall into the wrong hands. ( When a fully charged crystal the size of a tennis ball would break an area the size of New York could be destroyed ) they designed a generator that uses bio links similar to the ones they use to connect to something tough these bio links are attached to a “power sap” witch saps the power off the crystal. When a crystal is completely sapped the Bio’mar re-charge it into the light of their sun. they speed up the recharging process by placing it under a concentrated bundle of light. (go-go solar energy) One such crystal is enough to give power to a whole moon.
Industrial Technology:
The Bio’mar live fairly simple lives some would say primitive tough they are not primitive at all. Over the years they have searched ways to gather natural resources whiteout diminishing them. In this research they found a way to let things Grow/heal itself rather quickly, tough this substance can only be used on plants and minerals. They mainly use it on a mineral that is found in the undergrounds of their planet. It is a rather valuable mineral, it is mostly used for it’s good conductivity. It is the best electrical conductor currently known and mostly used in spaceships. It is a living mineral witch is rather unique, when it is almost diminished they use this substance to grow it back. The Bio’mar also have a monopoly over this conductor since it is only found on their planet making it their primary source of economical income. They also did a lot of resource in poisons, diseases and their antidotes, they found antidotes to 90% of all diseases in the galaxy. Tough in the process of finding antidotes they also developed dangerous poisons.
Military tech: tough they are a diplomatic race their military tech is very advanced. It is not the technology you would think about when you say Bio-race.

  • Advanced war mech: a bleu war mech equipped whit a bio-plasma rifle (fires over 20.000 rounds/min) also equipped whit a 88mm paralis launcher. This launches a paralis grenade paralyzing any non bio’mar in a 200 yard radius. Besides these two powerful weapons the war mech contains 2 automated plasma rifles ( 5000 rounds/min) on the inside the mech has 4 bio linking cables whom are to be connected to those of the user. Whit those cables the user can control the whole mech as if it was his own body. These mechs are powered by the Marani crystals, this power source is located in the back of the mech. The mech also makes use of force fields that can withstand weak to normal fire. (whit fire I mean plasma / laser / bullets, etc…)

  • Space ships: their ships are controlled the same is the mecha making it easy for 1 person to single handedly maneuver a battleship or even one of the two motherships currently in the planets orbit. Not much is known about the technology aboard these ships since almost none of them are ever encountered in battle. Tough in the reports there are it is written that one of their Class-A battleship was able to take out a small fleet, not thanks to its fire power but thanks to it’s endurance, strong shields and concentrated fire power.

  • planetary bio weaponry: over the years the Bio’mar have developed one very unique weapon. This weapon is a large pike the size of a fighter. Inside is a disease that when inhaled brings you into a coma. The bio’mar would launch such pikes to the planet surface where they crack open and the disease would spread. (this disease would spread trough the air. In a days time it would have spread trough whole New York so it’s rather slow moving but pretty effective. If you don’t want any bloodshed.) After the disease spread they would land their troops occupy the planet and then spread the antidote.

History: The bio’mar are a rather old race since one of their “generations” is 10.000 years long and 1.000 of their generations have already passed. Witch would make their race 10.000.000 years old (10 Billion) in their ways of life they have always been in harmony wit the living things around them, great scientists. They developed fast and were probably one of the first races to invent space travel. Tough there city’s are not that developed. Or so you would think. Not much is understood about their culture, their way of life. They are still one big mystery.
Well thats it tell me what you think, and eh and i trust that you for sure point out the stuff you consider OP

moons the size of Earth? 10 of them? Oo

10,000 year lifespans?! My Chozo only life for 200. We've tried to limit lifespans to a few hundred instead of a few thousand, but ten thousand years?!?! o_O

Their eyes adapt to ANY enviroment? How quickly? Oo but that really does limit the ability to blind them other than carvinf out their eyes. :/

I take it they have a way to tap into these supercharged crystals? And they haven't burnt whatever bio-machine saps the energy? Oo

As for how much power... the individual crystals can power a moon... the size of Earth? Or Earth's moon's size? Need to be specific. But really, if one crystal can power the Earth, then what are they doing witht hem in their bodies? They're growing nukes! It's worse than a terrorist's belt! D: (I take it there is a way to cause these crystals to explode in the usage of the bomb? -.-)

Living minerals? You mine these minerals and then "heal" them? I dunno about living minerals. With that, you'd have no use for factories, as your ships could grow their weapons, and split off to other ships, and thus, grow in size as well. So why would a resource be the main economy peice if it can easily be grown?

How do they know ALL of the galaxy's diseases?

600 foot range for a paralysis grenade?

Motherships: I wouldn't expect much less. My flagship utilizes heavy firepower and a thicker hull to help it last longer and it attempts to overwhelm the enemy. But then again, drones help too :p

Don't bioweapons have to be altered to match whatever race is being targeted? Example: The Chozo may be infected unless they ahd a similer disease in their past that they now have immunities to, whereas the disease may simply die if introduced to a Vultaran world, due to the atmosphere and heat, as well as Vultaran physiology. :/

10,000,000 years is 10 million. (hundred, thousand, million, billion, trillion)

Kinda hard to have an advanced culture if you continue towards harmony with everything in nature :/
----

Please note, these are simply things I am pointing out about your race. Just some of the flaws I noticed, while I try to figure out a way to correct these flaws. :/

Rules added to Darkknight's list:

The Monstrosity cannot be played by anyone other than myself. It is a world-event, boss, god-mod prevention device. Not a player, or playable race, object...or thingy. And god-modders will be slaughtered. :D I have several Monstrosities that have yet to appear on the playing field, though....The Kraken is ever so dear to my heart.

Taking one over, is also nigh impossible, considering the very nature of it.

Also: Don't mess with other people's race lore, without the consent of the original maker. We had a minor issue with this earlier.

DarkKnight, it wouldn't have mattered. My ships are immune to EMp because of the materials they are made out of. Remember that my super destroyer used emp on you in our first encounter. lol So it definetly wouldn't be effected. XD

I'm willing to bet the vultarans can't get diseases. noting that the body tries to fight viruses by heating up, means that the Vultarans would be immune. The viruses would be dead before they even reached the, However, noting that life appeared on a volcanic planet, and that the Vultarans emit 200 degree heat, there would have to be some viruses that effect the Vultarans. however, the way to beat them would be to cool the body, and that means ice age for any sick Vultaran. XD honestly, nobody would know all of the diseases in the galaxy. It would mean that you'd know every single race in the galaxy. And almost every race that ever met the Vultarans have either become part of their empire, or died. They're that nice. The Chozo however survived because they offered an alliance, which nobody knows of yet. The appearance will come up later.

We need to detail who has control over what races/characters on the first post of each thread, and links to any information on those races/characters.

That was actually DarkKnight's idea. This other one was also thrown about a bit:
Having a large map of a generic spiral galaxy marking the locations of everyone's settlements. While this would be a pain at first, once it was sorted out the whole thing would make more sense.
MAYBE everyone could scrounge up a picture of their race or something closely resembling it, so we can clarify what they look like.

On an unrelated note, varsaigen has been dropping hints the size of cannonballs that some of the Raiders attacking my Medusa could, in reality, be renegade Chozo. The Raiders are now an alliance of outcasts and vagabonds allied into one entity, and if you (varsaigen) want to have that drama happen then go ahead.

... my Chozo? I am the only CHozo player, so those'd be my Chozo. But, the Black Sun empire isn't attacking you, and there is no way that the old Chozo empire oculd possibly be the attakers, as the Chozo fled to another galaxy, while their worlds burned in their system wars, and the origional Chozo race is likely dead, leaving these survivors as their legacy. So, as the Chozo left behind all ideals from the past, except their art and science, and history, it couldn't possibly be them. :/

I like Elenai's idea. it'd be nice to have a map, however, things would change to make that map inaccurate. For example, the Vultaran Empire. I just expanded it, so that could happen again.

By the way, solmaster, how did the Holis become corrupted? And how could the North'throdir forgive them so easily for what they were doing to them? Expiremnts and mass slaughter? As an example from earth, I can't see the Jews forgiving Hitler for those reasons. Technically, what the Holis did aren't all that different from what Hitler did. Though it may be on a lesser scale, they are on the brink of extermination.

First note, on the race of phoonix, normally, when a planet would be so much larger, you'd either expect it to be a gasious planet, or the species living on it, to be somewhat shorter (becouse of the high gravity) also, as a side note, on earth-sized planets, without an enviromental suit, you'd simply explode, in space you'd explode, our races on the other hand, who are used to earth-sized planets, would get crushed without an enviromental suit on your planet =D.

Also Elenai, those rules, you can put them on the front page (you have a post there, so you could edit it XD)

As for ideas for orginizing this RP, I already gave some:
" Idea: Post templates!

You'll have to put up what race you're using, and what character before your post, like this

"Koldir|Kamica:

And every action that is done with another person MUST contain that character's or race's name, even if you said you were attacking that race only two posts back, What do you think? Good idea?)"

As a post template =D

Also, as for the map, it'd need to be of sufficient size =D (In other words, still be graphically decent quality if you zoom rather far in)

@Varsaigen: Couldn't it be a small amount of Chozo who got seperated from the bulk of the Black Sun Empire while traveling, and not knowing what to do, picked up their old habits, becouse they either couldn't get the resources themselves, or just realy didn't know what to do? It'd be an interresting scenario =D)

OH no you people are switching,g up the two mineral's. tough i did indeed wrote the name they have on their tentacles wrong. they have 2 minerals they use. one of them is Marani, it's their source of power and a marani crystal the size of a bowling ball can powera moon the size of earth. now the crystal that grows from theyr tentacles is similar to the conductar mineral they mine (tough it doesn't grow anymore) they use it to connect to theyr control pannel and sen pulses to activate certain things or to give commands etc. and about the living mineral, why not? it's original and not OP. and uh gravity and explode thats the only thing i understood from your explenation about the planets kamica/DarkKnight.

With DakrKnight's explanation about the planets, a race with a vastly larger planet would be used to the extreme temperature, while humans and many other races would be crushed due to said gravity. It's be like having lead padding for every part of your body. Not pleasant. And he is right that they would be short, due to the bones condensing to said gravity. But, on another note, gas giants are actually pretty small when it comes to their physical size. But... I forgot what keeps their gases swirling around them only. I'd have to check my essay. :/

When it comes to space, the gravity of a planet is crucial, which is why military personell wear a special combat suit made to keep them safer, acting as a hazard suit as well. Mining and construction crews also have a variation of the suit.

But as far as rogue Chozo, there are likely some, somewhere, but they want to liberate their people from the Admiral's forced rule. :/ So, they subtly try to get rid of him :/ But as far as expantion, the Admiral has military ships push past the border, as he realizes that his ships tend to run into hostile species. As much as he would like to have a non-military expedition, he wants the public to remain secure, and thus, has the military scout it out ahead, and set up defenses before civilian ships arrive. Ultimately, it's like a peaceful regime, where the leader was forced into the position by the people, despite other alternatives. So, the likelyhood of rogue Chozo ships out there, likely with empirial designs, is slim, as the majority of empirial ships were scrapped for superior designs. The entire fleet was remade to not reflect their old empire. Well, except a few ships, like the just-designed Planet Crackers :p and their mining ships (before the juggernaughts)

It may be science fiction, but even scifi keeps to the known laws of science unless a good reason is given. And as such, a vast planet of said size cannot have Earth Sized moons without being uninhabitable., The oceans would be absolute hell for things living on the coasts, and having 10 Earth-sized moons would mess with the crust, due to the pull exerted by moons. Our moon effects the Earth's crust as well, and as such, 10 Earth sized moons would rip it to peices, other than the fact that they'd have to be much further away to be safer for the planet, but risk being destroyed by passing rocks, and thus, put your planet at rick. But ten moons could collide with eachother, as not all of them are going to have the same rotation and speed. Moons are solidified peices from then the planet was molten. Something hits the planet, causing the moon to seperate. To have ten Earth-sized moons would mean the planet would be a pebble of sorts, and then you have 10 planets clustered, bringing hell on eachother like bumbercars. :/ That exterminates all existing life in a very cruel manner.

yes they have combat suits probably, tough as i stated they are a diplomatic race, not a warrior race. about the temperatures, hmm i haven't really thought about that, lets say the temperatures on their planet and moons is similar to those on earth. they have different environments on the planet to so. and what do you people mean by environmental suits?and space suits? well in a ship they don't really need a space suit but i gues they have some sort of suit that allows them to go into space whitout a ship, i mean it's not like you would use it often right?.

EDIT: oh didn't read Varsaigens post there. yes maybe 10 moons is to much what about 3, would that be OK?
