Doesn't manticore have a scorpion tail?:P

Well, mine doesn't. It's based on the concept of the manticore we can see on warhammer: Concept art

But i'll consider adding one, maybe :)

Btw, here are some wips. Textures is being made. There are still much to do / fix:

To do:
feet, tail, teeth (i've to add it on the model), wing claws

To fix:
teh mane, the body (especially the front limbs), wings joints, adding some highlights to the "poping" hair (from the mane) and to the wing skin, the inner mouth.

Burning_Dragoon5, his face looks more like an ape than a lion :/

And the modeling video is now online:
Chimera - modeling on Vimeo
Soon I'll make it an official post and explain a couple of things about it, like tools and stuff in hopes of making it less confusing. I repeat again, this is not for beginners. Of course you can watch it if you're a beginner, but you won't get much from it.

I'm not a modeller, so it is true, I ain't gaining shit from this movie, more than a reason to confirm a fact: You Own.

.... WTF? what polycount does the model have D:?

It's not the mane, it's the upper lip...it's too long, and it makes it look like a chimp.
Oh, and always remember when texturing: light comes from above!(skylight)

Ok, I fixed the upper lip. Indeed, it's better now.

About the light, thanks for the tip, i'll try to do my best (remember i'm not that good at making skins :/ )

Ok I just finished my entry, but I will update my model if I get some more ideas .

Edit1: updated
Edit2: updated again
Edit3: and again
Edit4: and 1 more time
