Been on the presentation of that game in Barcelona, it looks awesome. Shame it's only going out for the 360.

It was slipped?! Or strategically placed.

I can't wait for Gears, but I think I'll just rent it with a friend. We beat the other one in like two days of casual playing, and I don't expect a whole lot more. I really only buy replayable games, and I don't play online. Stupid Live.

Actually, there is. Slipped right out that a system they're using in SC2 is the same as the one in WC4, thus basically giving away the fact that a WCIV is in the works.
It's odd that they would slip it after being so careful all the time about information.

I just got it a few hours ago, gilles. Let me put your worries to rest.

This is the sequal we've been waiting for. Sucks if you don't have live, but there are Bots so you can always versus with a friend.

Oh and did I mention Horde mode?

no more talking, must play

Yeah, Gears 2 is going to be amazing. Gotta get my money together for a 'Backup'... that I could have had weeks ago.
Backup? As in another hard drive for your 360?

I still don't think I'll buy it. Once I beat it once with a friend, I'm happy and can put it to rest.

Got to Act 4 on gears...

Act 2 is the longest so far, also the funnest. You look at video clips and screenshots, it does not do the game justice.

You have to play it to see its graphics, I didn't think they would like this nice but the screenshots and clips are misleading.

It looks fantastic. The tiny details, like the tip of your gun heating up and turning red and the way the blood spreads between cracks on the ground...

honetly, i hope that Wc4 doesnt end up like SC ghost.... but im still doubtful.

if anything they would need (or should) make W4 bacwards omcpatable with W3, so we could have all of our old W3 maps and models and stuff. that would be the most mazing feat in RTS history!

People would just remake the old maps. I bet there will be a DotA map the next day after the release of WC4.

Just finished my playthrough of gears 2 on hardcore. It's a solid 4 hours longer than gears 1, the story is great (Espcially the Dom/Maria sub plot) but it creates more sub plots than it concludes. Atleast the ending hints at gears 3 (Stay after credits)

and despite a really disappointing end chapter, the overall game is great. Multiplayer is insanely addictive espicially horde mode. Try surviving 50 waves of Horde mode on insane. It's fucking nuts

And Co-op is so much better than gears 1, which is no understatement since gears 1 already had some great co-op. But the scenarios and shit that you play through feel like the levels were designed with the intention that 2 people will be playing this.

Ya its great, go get it if you got a 360.

Oh and, its possibly one of the best looking games I have ever played in my life.

After playing multiplayer for a bit, I can say its great. It doesn't really feel different from Gears 1 multiplayer, it just feels refined.

Really, really refined. There are some cool environment hazards and events, like in Avalanche, the map shifts and changes completely once an avalanche occurs and flattens the landscape. Another map has razor hail suddenly raining down, shredding anyone in the outdoors to bits. Day one (The city map) has a big hole in the center, if you come close a Corpser will come and fuckin' rape u. It's really fun cornering enemies to that hole. Hahaha

Out of the team based modes, Submission (Or "Meatflag) is the best. It's basically capture the flag, except that the flag is an AI controlled human with a shotgun. And he usually gets more kills than players which is hilarious, you have to shoot him down and then drag him back to your base kicking and screaming.

It's pretty awesome.

Oh and Horde mode is one of the best Multiplayer modes in any game. I could not pass level 43 (out of 50) on Normal difficulty. Imagine trying to play the game on Hardcore, or Insane (Holy fuck, good luck.)

One thing I hate is the gay and homosexual Matchmaking system. Why do people think it is a good idea to put a fucking Matchmaking system in just because Halo 3 has one?

It sucks fucking balls, and the old Gears of war 1 multiplayer lobby was twenty times better than this match making system.

First off, I like choosing the games I see hosted (For my preference of map and game mode) and I also like checking the Green bars on the right to see ping (So I can join the games with least lag possible).

Now its just some matchmaking bullshit that takes me twice as long as gears of war 1.

Luckily, games usually take longer to finish in Gears 2 and are much more fun. I guess its fine, but I really would have preffered the old system. This one will do though

Forgot to mention, most Gears of war 1 veterns will skip training grounds, but it is really useful for people who have not played Gears multiplayer yet to get themselves used to the basics. It's like an extended tutorial for multiplayer where you play with bots.

It's also fun to play with bots, good practice and an Ok alternative if you can't play online. It's also a good alternative if you want to play split screen against your friend (4 bots and your friend on one team, 4 bots and you on the other. Or you can both play cooperatively against the bots)

Me and my friends tried playing 5 bots versus us 2 on the hardest bot difficulty.

The bot AI is just (if not more) as smart as the enemies in the campaign, which is really great.

Damn right you are!

And the zombies in Half Life 1) Are not stupid, the fast moving ones will rape your face if you don't pay attention 2) Are filled with headcrabs, which are a bitch 3) Left 4 Dead zombies are absolutely nothing like Half Life zombies.

Sure, they wander aimlessly, but the second you start shooting, they freak right the fuck out and charge at you. It's scary as hell.

Also: POST COUNT NOW OVER NINE THOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDD!111!
