Ujimasa Hojo's Resources Discussion

where is the chaos orc Beastmaster? I only saw green orc and NE versions, but not the chaos orc :(

it's in alternate animations of BeastmasterOrcV1.01.mdx
 
I'm working on a Naga map and I made some edits to Ujimasa Hojo's Coral Ancient models for it. I thought it would be nice to share them. For the custom textures, just delete the 'war3mapimported' so it's just (file name).blp. There's also an edited Coral Birth model I made from the Night Elf birth. That one doesn't use custom textures.

Do you have any plans to work on more coral ancients?

The other two are a bit messy (esp. in the face) but that Ancient of War is very cool (esp. in the face)! : )

I didn't texture the Ancient of War's face, that uses the Altar of the Depths texture. Overall messiness was not deliberate, but the faces for the Ancients of Wind and Life were- I wanted them to look a bit more alien rather than having humanoid or recognizable facial features. Thank you though, I am glad you like the Ancient of War.

The alien-ness definitely comes through. And for the AoW, I figured you didn't; I recognized the in-game texture, and wanted to congratulate you on your choice & wrapping abilities. : )

Although I do appreciate that congratulations, I must again pass it up- the Altar of the Depths texture and wrapping is unchanged from UH’s original model. I am glad the alien-ness comes through though.
 
Did Ujimasa Hojo upload somewhere "Altar of Elders (Elf)" model that actually matches the icon from "Altar of Kings" archive?

Forgive me if it's present already, but are there buttons for the Westfall Blacksmith model in Blacksmith and derivatives?
It'd just create more consistency. A few others are the following in terms of icons:
1. Graveyard and Derivatives for all of them.
2. Tower Human and Derivatives with Human Westfall version.
3. Mage Tower and Derivatives with the Gilneas, Naga and Westfall versions.
4. Farm (Human) and Derivatives with the Gilneas (and potentially Ironforge) version(s). (Although I feel like, even though named different, I feel like the Northrend button featured on the page would also be for the Ironforge version.) Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.
5. Farm (Elf) and Derivatives with the Night Elf and Westfall versions.
6. Watch Tower and Derivatives with the Dark Troll and Undead versions.
7. Lumber Mill and Derivatives with the Gilneas and Westfall versions. Also, Footman16 was kind enough to make Stormwind Buttons, would he be able to be added as a collaborator in some way?
8. Altar of Kings and Derivatives (Typo in the actual title, says "derivavives", unsure if it can be fixed now) with the Dalaran, Ironforge and Westfall buttons.
9. Altar of Storms and Derivatives with the Human and Undead versions.
If they were covered already, it would make for great convenience if covered and would save link hopping in the future.
10. Barracks (Human) and Derivatives with the Westfall and Naga versions.
11. Temple of the Damned and Derivatives with the Dalaran, Westfall, Gilneas, Orc and Nerubian versions.
12. Town Hall, Keep, Castle and Derivatives with the Westfall and Ironforge versions.
13. Crypt (Northrend) and Derivatives with the Church of the Holy Light and Farmstead versions.
14. Crypt and Derivatives with the Dalaran and Westfall versions.
If they could be covered, it'd be great.

Hi, uh... I was hoping for a 3 Tiered Version of a Ziggurat Resembling this ziggurat you made previously, as it is very good for fitting the Custom Faction of The Infernalis, but I lack a T3 so I've awkwardly been working with the "Ultimate Unit Production Structure" as its T3 which I've wanted to change since a while ago. May I have something to this effect? I apologize if its a bit much to ask, but Im willing to try and request if nothing else.

If it can have... fel-fire progressively being added on to it over time, that would be amazing, as it'd fit the theming intended.
 
The Birth and Upgrade animations of Ziggurats in this thread (Demon, Nerubian and Optimized Variants) don't seem to work properly. They trigger rather slowly and seem buggy. It's really hard to tell whether they are building or upgrading in this state, which makes them unusable as default Ziggurat replacement. I kindly ask for a fix!

And if it isn't too much of a bother, could you please make an Icon for the (Optimized) Mage Tower in Red Orcish faction color? The Mage Tower never had a proper icon with the 3 Obelisks on around the core building from Blizzard. Your Ironforge icon is nice, but it differs enough that it doesn't really fit the Optimized model which I'm currently using as Orc Altar skin (lacks door, has blue faction colors and orb at the top of main building).

There is also an issue with the sacrificial pit in that the basic one uses the wrong birth animation (uses the troll falling ice one instead of the spectral portal). I've brought this up in a few places but no dice for a fix. I wish I knew enough about modeling to give you a fix myself :P

That looks WAY better woah... It doesnt come off as a modelstack.

I think I know why the current model isn't as good. It's that the towers and walls don't match. I feel the towers are the worse offender due to them not matching the building inside, but the walls do better. Though it could work with the tower's colors for the walls too... The Old Model lacks this problem as the brightness of the concrete makes it feel like the metal is a highlight peice, with the concrete being implied as underneath while the current model looks like two different construction materials.

The newer version of the model has strange round blue circles instead of the clock tower in the town hall, making the model look quite bad. The Castle's use of the Guard Tower, Cannon Tower, and Arcane Tower, makes it seem incongruous. Older versions of not only the Town Hall, Keep, and Castle, but many other models looked better. I hope the author shares these models with us again.

  • Extract the AI from the map and follow the same paths into your new one.

Really excited about this harder version of AI, but sadly, it seems they didn't update them to reflect the latest patch's changes. Spirit Walkers and its upgrades still require Spirit Lodge instead of Tauren Totem, the Hippogryph Taming still requires an upgrade, and Human AI doesn't research Sundering Blades. Also, the Undead AI rarely gets Banshees and only Necromancers were used (though I was able to fix that issue myself by making both Necromancers and Banshees reproduceable like Human and Orc caster counterparts).

I wish they also make a script that allows computer to train neutral heroes from Tavern instead of relying on AMAI.

Yeah I'm actually with you on this one; it's not bad, but the OG looked better IMO. More cohesive, less flashy.

I'm also a little 'off' on the new Forsaken HQ; the variety of towers is kinda strange-looking.

I have to say, you're an absolute legend to me. Can I ask you for something? It's for a custom map I'm making.
You have these amazing optimized models from Vanilla game for almost every building. I see there was one quite interesting model missing - Dimensional Gate (the ones on BE missions). In the main game it doesn't have birth animaton, death animation and even Team Color. Would you be able to make one? I know I'm asking for a lot, but that model would be neat. That's all a fan can ask for. Have a great day.
