I was going to make a naga sand/mud giant but then, I added cracks ...
Which doesn't really make sence because they would live under water =/ Could I please let him be like a "on shore living naga"?
Sum Wip...
Didn't really start the face yet.
(I used the disolve mode in some parts -> that okay?)
I think (myself) that my highlights should be ... less smooth, since the surface is rough. Hints, feedback and such are very welcome since This kinda is my first contest skin o_O And I just suck at skinning...
I don't have time to make a screeny of the model using it =/
sorreh.

It doesn't really look very nagalike. Maybe you should make him into a sea giant with turtle shells, or coral, or seaweed/rocks. And you should use at least 2 dominant colors and 1 lesser color so as not to make it monotone. You also need to make more defined shapes especially for the face. As far as using special effects there is nothing wrong with them but it is better to learn to use the brush first.

WIP #3

I finnished the scales on the back. Later on I might adress a few of the scales wrapping issues. For now I am leaving the stomach scales alone because I tried and couldn't quite get the shading how I liked it. I am not quite liking the spines on the back fins and will probably change them later on.

FrIkY will be allowed to finish this contest, but he will not be permitted to enter any future contests in the Arena. He has cheated multiple times, and has lost the privilege to participate. A one point infraction will also be given.

We apologize for the miscommunication between staff, and the late punishment. In the future, we will do our best to avoid these problems.

Thank you,
Gilles and The Hive Workshop Staff.

Wait a minute. You're telling me I don't know how to use a normal brush or what? This is actually the first time I've ever used alternative brushes and they were all standard photoshop brushes.
I was about to make the green parts on the skin Seaweed.
I'm going to add shells and other seastuff on the rocks too.
I'm going to darken the grooves too.
About to take a look at the sunken ruins tilesets to find some more inspiration.

I like your entry, bananahunt. I can't really add anything ...

Ok, Heres my third WIP. Team color is blue and red on the two wind riders shown, tried putting team color on all the spots it was avalible - so far it's on the wing tips, the tail right before the "stinger", the rider's bracers, and the weapon shaft. I still need to figure out what to do with the hair piece that floats behind the head, and after looking at the other naga textures I probably need to add more highlights. Comments/suggestions welcome.

I need some feedback on the stomach scales. Are the colors looking good? Too bright? Too yellow? My main concern is with the colors. I like them and think they are good at balancing out the blue and green. You don't see it all that much ingame so it needs to be fairly strong. But I don't want it to be too strong.

The transition on the belly scales does look a little rough. One way I found to tell were my skins need shadding is to turn the lighting setting off (hotkey is "L") when viewing them in WC3 editor. If they look good in that lighting then they have the right kind of shading, if they look flat because they relly to heavily on the in game lighting then they need more work. Anyways, from the unwrap it looks like it needs a smoother transition between the scales :(

I got the stomach scales how I want them. There is still more for me to do there but I have started to focus more on the head. I am dreading having to skin that. The horns, arms, shoulder, and forehead are all part of the texture for the head. Not to mention the damn portrait which is one of those that is shaped entirely differently and uses different textures. Good news is that once I finnish the head... I am finnished :eekani:

@Just_Spectating: It looks like it could get a bit cluttered. Try to keep a consistent theme and color scheme for the armor, weapon, and shield.
