Texturing Competition #12

Contest Model: Archimonde

Each contestant must create a skin using the Archimonde model. Can be anything really.

Contest Rules And Conditions

  1. Model must be Archimonde.

  2. No model edits are allowed.

  3. To qualify, you must post your finished skin's .blp file as well as an ingame shot

    • Rule 3a. This finished skin must be submitted before the deadline

  4. You must make an original texture for this competition
    • No using skins started/made before the start of the contest

  5. Textures must be no larger than 256 pixels in any dimension when submitted as final entry, though you may work in 512 (or higher), but they must be resized down to 256 when submitted.

  6. Skin must be at least 75% Freehand

  7. Along with the 75% freehand, the skin must ALSO follow the skin submission rules

Contest Judging And Voting
  • 50% of the decision of who wins, shall be determined by the contest's appointed judge(s).

  • 50% of the decision of who wins, shall be determined by the results of a public poll.


Prizes, Winnings, Booty & Bounty

  • First Place: A custom award icon as well as 40 rep
  • Second Place: 25 rep. points
  • Third Place: 10 rep. points

Contest Dates And Deadline

Each skin must be complete and submitted before the deadline expires. All submissions willl be looked at carefully to make sure all of it is original work.

The contest shall begin on January 24 2009 and conclude on

February 24 2009 12:00 AM, (GMT).​

Oh right, it's meant to be a Protoss/Zerg Hybrid by the by.

and you guys said hybrid's would of been a crappy theme look at the potential the theme could of had!

ps: awsum skin AR i recently got a new computer so im loading wc3 up as we speak hoping ill enter maybe.

AR, there's a thing that's bugging me about your Protoss/Zerg hybrid. Right now it's kind of patchy. What I mean is that it's a protoss, with zerg pieces on shoulders etc. You could try and blend them more, like make some areas where the transition is smooth.
I really can't think of anything original to do with Archimonde though, I'll keep brainstorming.

I can't really tell from that shot, but I think the face needs more contrast.

To be honest, I don't like it very much. The colours seem too opposite for my liking. It's like mixing water elementals and fire elementals. Two totally opposite things that would look completely retarded together. Don't get me wrong, it's executed exceptionally, but the red could use some toning down - I think desaturating it a bit should do the job.
