Someone requested an Ice Incinerate so here it is. It looks STUPID in the pictures lol. You can only appreciate it if you see it in action =) Here are 3 pictures of the animation of the model.

This is definitely not snow.

Looks good,I didn't like the comet because the model you use is a bit ugly.

Of course it's snow. Living in Canada helps when it comes to replicating snow. It's just the screenshot. :)
Like all effects, it looks better in action. Especially the comet and explosion.

@JetFang: Doesn't look much different from most of your effects. I'd have to see in action to really judge.

Lol, wasnt expecting someone to make it, looks good, I'll have to test it out ingame to see the full power.

Afew more potential effects, incase anyone needs ideas:
- Frost Corpse Explosion - Based of Animate Dead Buff Special, with all the bones/bodies exploding
- Icy Impale - The impale that comes out of the ground, perhaps with some cool icy effects
- Frost Cloud - The Dragon Hawk Cloud, perhaps with some blizzard/icy theme to it.

-Snow nuke (Had to do it. It'll be more of a frost bomb than a nuke)

Looks messy to me, try to make it more icey and glowy; right now it looks like blue fire doodads rotated diagonally.

Hmm, to please everyone I guess I'll make 2 of them lol. @Will, the wings are made of 2 tail particles rotated to the left and the right. If i gave it a more defined shape, it would just look like 2 blue stretched ovals rotated to the left and right. The only way I can think of to make a more defined shape would be to use geometry and stuff which Daelin is good at but I have no knowledge of. In addition, since I use magos' modeleditor, any rotations I attempt to edit result in total failure. As a result, I can't really change the wings.

i have never geoset-merged in my life because i can't understand a thing in the vertex modifier. a failed idea in my hands... =(

oh well, here's another model that i'm making but it's not finished yet. I still might add more to it to make it flashy. It's called Shiva's Enchantment o.o

Yes, it contains one rotating bone and 4 ribbons along with particles attached on 4 different points. Because the bone rotates, it drags the particles and the ribbons in circles. Btw, you know I NEVER completely make something on my own. I always base it off something. But guess what model I'm using. Should be pretty easy :p

@ shade, close but not quite. you can find the model in war3x/abilities/orc/ancestralspiritcaster.mdx it's quite a fun model to play with lol. I made that same model I did for this competition a while back with different colors and textures so I just spiced it up a bit to match the ice theme.

a quick question: do ribbons count as particles? (for example if the particle has an emission rate of 20 does it count as 20 particles?)

Ribbons emit planes in the direction of movement. Depending on the number of sides and lifetime, you will have a directly proportional number of polies. Each plane is 2 polies, just like for particle emmiters. But unlike them, particle emmiters are not tied to movement and emmit planes from the plane, which remains the same size. Both ribbons and particle emmiters are useful in their own respective situations, but both can be high polycount-consuming.

emission: 20 lifespan: 0.5 total: 10?

also, i'm having trouble with a model. it contains 16 bones that move from one point in the center and they fly out in a circle. attached to each bone are 2 particles and 1 ribbon. the problem is all the particles show up but only half of the ribbons show up. also, you have to move the effect around to see ALL the ribbons. i wasted like 3 or 4 fucking hours on this damn model and it doesn't even work in the end. (guess that's what happens when u use magos to do ribbons lol).
