Ekrion looked at the the tree and pondered, he had always seen it as a symbol of the Crycon race, resembling their pride. I will restore the honor of my family, i must do this. and then I will once again be able to call myself a Crycon. Every single time he would say that to himself, every single time.

Ekrion awoke from his thoughts whit new resolution, they would find the Book of the bladebringer, and now they somewhat knew where it was. He stepped forward towards the spring and took one of the leaves. "Now what sunrah?"

As Ekiron picked up the Leaf, all of the group members felt a slight distortion in their eyes.
Suddenly a grand dorway was standing in the middle of the square.
Apparently it was only visible to the group members. Or rather, only in existance for the group members.
Several people walked right through it, and noone seemed to notice it.
"Come on in. I've found something on the tunnels. Something VERY INTERESTING on the tunnels."

"You're awfully particular for a human," Marais remarked as he made his way in. Whatever was below this city was significant. Though, he was still recovering from the encounter. The same questions still puzzled him.

I wonder what grudge he has against sister. He thought to himself, grinning. Despite his dislike for his sister, he always loved how much of a wretch she was. She must've really treated the 'marker' to some fun.

"Um, Sorry but i couldnt help to overhear the last exchange of words.
We are not going to the tunnels yet. That would be suecide.
Those things have everything from traps to vengeful ghosts.
We need to make preparations first, so so far the doorway leads to our hideout.
"
Sunrah said.
"And sorry for scrying on you. I wont do it again. Promise.
Unless i need to, cause... Augh! Just come through already, i need to show you something.
"

Those who stepped through the doorway found themselves in a grand hall. A quite familiar place by now, for most of them.
It was Sunrah's hideout. Or his sanctum, you might say.
As previously mentioned it was quite grand. Decorated by elven craftmen and enchanted by all kinds of mages, the room almost stank of money.
But hiring people like Sunrah was not a cheap affair, and just as much as he HAD the money he also had a reason to decorate the room like this.
For he was litterally stuck there.

Sunrah was a Warp-Born. A Warp Mage that has not recieved a Warp-Wound, but is instead born with the corrupting energies of the Warp inside his body.
This allows him to take the manipulation of Warp-Magic further than most others, and in Sunrah's case he had become a master scryer and telepath.
And even though his body practically emanated magical energy none of the group members had ever seen him use his magic for something else.
But being a Warp-Born is just as much a curse as a blessing, and Sunrah was a prime example of that.

And there he sat, in his big red Armchair in the middle of the room, greeting those who went through the doorway with a friendly smile.
A slightly Childish-looking human, with red tattoos covering his face.
Around him the various objects of the room moved at his will.
There he sat, chained, his body twitching in a struggle to get loose.
For although his mind is his own, his body is under the control of something else.
And the two forces present in his being were at constant, everlasting war.

"Glad you're here. We have much to do."

Meyla found herself in Agron's shadow, cautiously approaching the ironclad man. Her earlier confidence had left her completely, her nerves now running amok, eyes shifting, snapping and widening at every sound. She took in the great hall with a spectral gaze, a ghostly glazing, her eyes unfocussed, her mind half-conscious. When Agron spoke up, she snapped out of the trance, turning to him and the bound warp mage. She couldn't help but cringe, though she'd seen it many times before Sunrah's struggle reminded her only to well. Evil has touched my heart and soul, how long before it to claims my mind and body?
Forcing a weak smile, she returned her eyes to the vast interior, awaiting a response keenly.

Sunrah forces one of his fingers to point at a writing desk near him.
"While you were on your way here, i did some research on previous expeditions into the tunnels.
As you might already know those things are rumoured to be endless."
A tight rolled scroll flies out from one of the nearby bookcases.
It opens and shows a long list with names and various notes.
"As you can see on this list most of the expeditions down there that actually found anything have just been wandering blindly and happened to bump into valueable knowledge or items.
But there is a rumour, or rather a myth, that a guide lives somewhere in Roag who knows the way around the tunnels.
Or atleast a big part of them.
But when i saw a drawing of him, or rather 'it', i dismissed it.
Until i found out that the one who first encountered the guide, also known as The Gardener, was our leader Taiion.
Here, take a look at this."
A scroll lying on the writing desk hovers up into the air and towards the group members that entered the sanctum.
On it was a drawing of a hovering creature, covered in roots and wielding an odd staff.

Marais fell into a nearby chair in the sanctum, watching their leader and his companions. Once the scroll was unravelled, he walked over to gaze at it. He did not enjoy what he saw.

"Looks like something the Pantheon spat out without a moment's grace," he remarked.

"Do we know anything about these shadows?" He said, continuing to gaze at the floating, bluish creature on the page. The thought of travelling with something like that disgusted him.

He looked forward to their journey underground. Though, he could sense some of his companions did not share such views.

"I doubt it. I've heard stories of 'shadows'. Often or not, it isn't literal." He stated, sighing deeply.

"Did you know anything about the man we encountered today by any chance? He seemed to know who I was. I'm curious."

Marais smiled. He was excellent when it came to recollection. He could describe his entire life with impeccable detail. "Well, the old riddlemaster said, 'I am the cross, the marker that stands in front of all who dare. The sign that marks where the border goes'. What is with curious entities and riddles? Do they lack proper social skills?" He pondered aloud.

''The shadows?'' Meyla jumped in. ''Why... They're spirits, spectres. Are they not? Creatures of the dark, yet not really creatures... At all'' she bit her lip. Servants of the entity? No, slaves of the entity?

''As for where to find him?'' for the first time since the harbour she smiled ''Well... A shepherd is never far from his flock''. But then shadows cannot exist without light, like light cannot but cast a shadow. We are all of us, subject to both the light and dark, we all have the potential to align with good or evil.

"Hmm... I'm afraid i will have to get back to you on that.
I have no idea what 'i am the marker' is supposed to mean."
Surah said as a dozen books fly out of nearby bookcases and land on the desk.
"About those shadows, i think you might be onto something Meyla.
Urnung has a clan of Crycons called 'Doras Preves Pathenie', which means 'Those who Guide the Light Through the Darkness' roughly translated, who have their base of Operations in Roag.
They deal with Vengeful Spirits and ghosts of all sorts, and have yearly expeditions to the tunnels. It should be worth your while to ask them about the Gardener."

"We're talking about unmapped, greatly unexplored, heavily trapped, creature filled, rumoured-to-be-endless tunnels.
I somehow dont think anyone will have success finding something specefic down there without proper preparation.
Even with my abilities i cant scry the place."
Sunrah said with a slightly annoyed tone.

"is it not obvious? we search for this 'gardener' and one way or another we will get him to guide us." he said.

"Well... The task at hand is to find the Gardener, someone or something else that can guide us through the tunnels. For a bit, at least.
And on a site note, the organisation sent us some extra funding.
There's a big load of weapons and curious devices in the forge, and if you have any specefic equipment requests i will see if i can get whatever-it-is for you."
With another struggle sunrah points to a big door with the letters 'FORGE' above it.
"On top of that i have been tasked with equipping your rooms with whatever furniture or special objects you need, so speak up."

Meyla smiled.
"Thank you Sunrah - your offer is most generous - but I have no desire for exquisite lodgings or mastered armaments. However I would be at ease, and retire to my room if all is said and done?" she seemed eager to get away, slow and polite but skittish nonetheless, her eyes restless, darting around the room.

Ekrion looked towards the Forge "perhaps i can find something useful in there" and he entered it, looking for anything that might be useful.

Meyla nodded her thanks and paced purposefully through the gateway and down the hall, the echoes of her rattling armour resonating through the marble floor.

--

Having set a brisk pace she reached her quarters within minutes and wasted no time unbuckling her armour. Bracers, pauldrons, skirt and breastplate. She winced as the straps of the latter touched the ruined roots of her wings. I should be dead. At least that's what I was always told, once we lost our wings we would die. Maybe I have died? I've not been the same since that's for sure, but then...
She fluttered them.
If it weren't for the scars, I'd hardly believe I'd ever lost them. He did his work well. I... Hope he's alright.
Finished, she moved the ceremonial armour to it's pedestal. It wasn't really designed for modern battle, but she wouldn't swap it for the strongest, lightest masterpiece of metalwork in all of Rafia.
She unstrung her scabbard in one quick motion, laying it gently against the armour.
She knelt before it, head bowed, jade toga billowing in the window's wind.
"Where are they now? How are they faring? Taiion... Can you hear me - are they safe?"
She held the posture for a time before retreating to the comforting embrace of simple slumber.

DM Note:
I'm gonna add a Journal to one of the first posts in the construction thread with your current goals, uncovered info and whatnot.
Sadly, i'm more ill than normally right now so it wont be before i'm in shape to organise things again. :S
(Fever, more coughing than the usual, eyes watering. General Suckiness. :/)

@Ekiron
Inside the forge Ekiron found a wide variety of armour ranging from plate to mages' robes, and weapons of all kinds.
Among these weapons he found many that were highly specialised aswell as mechanical.
Manyshot Crossbows, Daggers that sprouted barbs and spikes once inside the target, gas traps, alchemical grenades and much more.
If he wanted to find something specefic he'd have to know exactly what to look for.

@Meyla
A few seconds before meyla fell asleep she saw a black silhouette sitting beside her. Then slumber took over.

Piverou walked down, past the doors of the others, his heart thumping in his chest. as he passed the door to meyla's room, he felt an inexplicable draw. he opened the door, stepping inside to see her. something made him feel... posessive about her. a bond he coulden't explain. a shared burden, maybe something else...

OOC: this is unrelated to your post :/

Piverou heard whatever it was, but chose to ignore it, he felt this strange need to watch over her, like she had asked for something without speaking, needed somone to make sure she was okay, like a brother, or father.

He did not so much look at her, as the room, his presence applied the disired effect, he felt her peaceful slumber, and as he rested in the chair, he too, drifted off to sleep.

Marais smirked. "What a fine gesture, Master Sunrah! I have a list, but I doubt you'd be able to provide me with the things I require." He pulled out a random tome from a nearby shelf and scoffed at its title.

As The Shadow Screams... will I never escape her wretched influence? His expression went from that of placidness to disgust.

OOC: Ey, For those of you who went into the forge:
You have to be specefic about what you want to find, and then i'l tell you if it's there.

IC:
"Well, what do you require? We are on a high-priority mission for the Organisation, and the only reason Taiion isnt here himself is that he's trying to convince one of his old friends that he is NOT looking for the book, for some reason.
The Organisation is willing to pour A LOT of gold into this project."
Sunrah said as he made a small glove press a button on the far wall, and the candles in the room where people slept were blown out.
