OOC:
The updates to the Difficulty Chart have been added among with an update of Read the Wind.

IC:
The gryphon was just about to follow Piverou when a loud, but oddly hoarse, whistle was heard.
The gryphon raised it's head, then flew away at an incredible speed and disappeared among the nearby buildings, leaving Agron with his axe ready to strike.
As it vanished Sunrah's voice could be heard once again.
"The target is within earshot of your position! I hope for the sake of Ahmon that you're ready!"

Marais raised his head as he heard the whistle. The gryphon was gone. Marais slid back into the shadows, waiting for the shady figure.

"A cowardice's recall of defeat" As he said into the air that was referring to the mysterious whistle that made the Gryphon fly away in combat to Piverou, as the battle was over, Unan looks upon Leo and Meyla's situation on where they land and slowly moves towards them.

"At least you Lads are alright" he said with a short smile while tapping Meyla and Leo's shoulders.

Slowly, very slowly, something begun moving out of the shadows.
Or rather, it begun coming in sight. The shadows clinged to it even though there was several light sources nearby in a way that made your eyes hurt.
"So. Someone was following me after all."

OOC: Nah, it's not. be creative. :)
Some things will though require an extra roll.

IC:
"Hah, like i could actually take down all of you.
Those days are over."
The shadows start leaving the hooded man, and a face full of glowing green tatoos is revealed.

Marais: Somehow you're sure that you've seen the hooded man before...

''Lads?'' Meyla laughed. ''I-'' she stalled as the target materialized, eyes widening, heart jumping to her throat. She swalloed and looked around the scattered group. No one seemed to have a plan and despite his reservations, the man seemed confident in his ability. She groaned, hesitant to make the first move. Nevertheless she gripped her blade's hilt tightly and fluttered her wings for show.

Marais glanced at the source of the shadowy voice. Darkness leapt from his form like a pack of frightened hounds. The man's face radiated with a sickly green glow. The elf's eyes begun to see the patterns embedded on the face of the shadow. He laid low in the shadows, prowling through some of the makeshift stalls. He knew this man somehow. But where? How? Such questions tug at his conscience, conflicting him.

Marais slowly crept out from the shadows, composing himself and standing at his elven height. He waited for some sort of reaction from the others. Perhaps even from Sunrah himself.

Meyla didn't move. No one did. The man was unnerving, unnatural. Meyla shuddered and cowered back, her wings drooping. She was hardly tall or imposing (5') but the man's voice was so clear and demanding. With mere words he was holding back many a blade.
What good could she do? What could any of them do? Why don't we just strike him down!? The question remained unaswered and she found her grip on her blade loosening.

"Information. Well... I suppose i have quite a lot of that..."
The man's eyes fell on Marais as he left the shadows, and they almost litterally burst into a green flame of rage.
"Lamente..."
His voice emanated loathing as the word left his lips, and the shadows in the air around him started thickening.

Marais took a step back as he heard a terrible whisper on the winds.

Lamente...

With that whisper, the man's eyes exploded with rage. How did he know? This was all so puzzling. He had never met this person, yet he recognized him, and clearly the one he had been hunting knew who he was too. He felt his hand slowly creeping upward, lining his torso. If he struck, Marais would need to correspond accordingly.

Slowly, at the mention of the Book, the man's rage died down and he turned his attention to Agron.
"Ah, so you are using the gap to search for it through? No, it is obvious that you know very little."
He chuckles, the sound of it apparently making the nearby shadows dissolve.
"I cant reccomend speaking that name loudly in public though. Be warned that what you are looking for has just as many guardians as seekers.
So, i assume you want to tap into my equally small amount of knowledge?"

A cruel smile unfolded on the man's face at Meyla's question to Marais, and he then answered Agron.
"I know only that it is in the tunnels below the city.
They were here when the city was built, and the bloody things are just as unexplored as the platform atop the Black Tower."

"'The bloody things?'. Can i presume you meant the Pyramid city's? if so, under which one?" He didn't like this... just as unexplored as the platform atop the black tower but...The platform was said to be endless! if it really was endless, then it can never be completely explored, what if it was the same here? endless tunnels into the deep and dark unknown, if that really was the case...

The man chuckled yet again at the disbelief and sceptic replies he was met with.
"The only great unexplored tunnel system there is: the tunnels below Roag.
The very same place that the founder of Necropia found the tome of Untold Lies, also said to hold the last sanctum of the Silver Dragons."

Piverou had finally managed to climb up, over the ledge he had jumped down to avoid the gryphon.

He swore this way and that, his fine clothes mussed with dirt and a bruise on his nose. he broke the stony, serious, fearful atmosphere like a hammerstroke to glass, his comical overacting and swearing was too much to bear. He sheathed his sword and finally noticed the man, doing a double-take. "Who the hell are you?" he asked in his strange, thick accent, his small, trimmed moustache twitching.

This all happend quickly, he had vaulted over the ledge to the higher platform, cussing and swearing foul, never-to-be-repeated oaths. It was too comical.

At first the man gives Piverou a long, baffled stare.
Then a smile that could almost be described with the word 'Normal' filled his face.
"I must say, if there's one thing i've missed during my time as a demigod it is the ability to find something comical."
He walks past the other members of the group, towards piverou.
As he moves it is as if light is reluctant to fill in the space where his shadow has been.
"Tell me your name, and i might just answer your question."
He says, adressing Piverou.

Marais looked at Meyla, his face riddled with questions. "I don't know. I recognize him but... I just don't know."

"Lamente is the name of my family. Our legacy, if you will." He whispered, his eyes carefully following the man as he approached Piverou.

"Perhaps he is talking about my sister. I can't recall this man at all."

Meyla frowned "But you just said...". Irritated, she whirled about and trotted towards the area the man had once stood, now vacated in exchange for a chat with Piverou the jester. She weaved a hand through the air, as if trying to catch the remnants of shadow that clung there. She didn't have a clue what she was doing but it was better than doing nothing, right?

"eagh!" Meyla screamed, leaping back as the shadows clutched her. But the shadows slipped off as if nothing more than a spectral glove. After composing herself she whirled around and scowled at the group, just daring one to throw a jibe in her direction before returning to her observation with more precaution.

Meyla glared at Agron.
"It's not nothing - it's ... Something" she snapped letting the shadows wrap around her wrist once more. "See? Tell me that's normal!" she continued, exasperated and still drenched in sweat. She flicked her gaze to the 'target' and the brash Piverou, bit her lip and called out to him "Who or more specifically what are you?"

The man turns his head and looks at meyla with another one of his strange smiles
"I am the cross, the marker that stands infront of all who dare. The sign that marks where the border goes."
As he speaks the shadows thicken around Meyla, and it is as if they are drawn to the places where the other shadows touched her skin before.
When the man turns his gaze back to Piverou the shadows go back to normal and fall to the ground, merging with the shadows there.
A sickening feeling is left behind.

"I'm sure you might eventually succeed at killing me if you tried hard, but what i am less sure about is how many of you i could take down with me.
On a slightly unrelated note, you arent much for being polite are you?"
The man said, smiling even broader.
