1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.
LINK TO THE CINEMATIC FILE
3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns
if you have the 1.28 patch.
4) Play the campaign!

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

- Heavily rewritten dialogues in: Chapter One, Three, Four, Five, Six, Nine and Eleven (Ten), and in almost all of the interludes. Other chapters have received some minor alterations to dialogues.
- Rewritten intro descriptions to almost all maps.
- Lowered collision size of almost all units for easier pathing.
- Updated a lot of tooltips.
- Cinematics updated.
- Difficulty altered in most maps, harder maps should now be a bit easier.
- Aewynne is no longer controllable in Chapter Eleven (Ten).

Techtree Changes
- Arcane Affinity now reduces magic damage by 25% (was 20%).
- Magic Sentry now instead gives Towers the ability to increase nearby friendly units' mana regeneration.

Hawkstrider Knight
- Requires Sanctuary instead of Spire to be trained.
- Cleave now strikes 25% of damage to nearby enemy units (was 12%).

Sorceress
- Can now once again use Polymorph.
- Can no longer use Illusion.

Arcane Golem
- Resistant Skin is now called Prismatic Barrier and also gives Arcane Golems passive health regeneration.

Blood Knight
- Holy Light heals for 250 hit points (from 125).
- Seal of Protection now lasts 30 seconds (from 25).
- Wings of Retribution increases movement speed and attack rate by 40%. Has a new special effect when cast.

Ballista
- Damage buffed.

Phoenix
- No longer has Spell Immunity. Instead, has a new ability, Spell Resistance, which reduces magic damage taken by 50%.
- Now costs 7 food (from 6).

Kael'thas
- Can no longer use Summon Lava Spawn. Instead, can use Summon Al'ar, which summons Al'ar, a powerful phoenix, to fight alongside Kael'thas.

Alessandra
- Has a new voice. (Valeera from Heroes of the Storm)
- Soulburn has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Alessandra's attack speed.
- Dark Soul's Voidlord is no longer immobile.

Lor'themar
- Has a new model and a new icon.
- Flames of Retribution no longer does friendly fire. Now costs 75 mana (from 85).
- Blood Cry now affects a larger area. Now costs 50 mana (from 90).
- Can no longer use Dashing Winds. Instead, has a new ability, Living Bomb, which adds extra damage on each attack and causes units that die while under the effect to explode, dealing damage to nearby enemy units.

Liadrin
- Has a new model, a new icon and a new voice.
- Desiccation Aura is no longer visually displayed.

Aewynne
- Paralysing Arrow's range is now 800 (was 600).
- Evergreen now costs 50 mana (from 75).
- Marksmanship has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Aewynne's attack damage.
- Volley of Arrows no longer does friendly fire.

Sylvanas
- Has a new voice.

Kalecgos
- Has a new voice.
- Abilities are now stronger.

- Lowered all units' collision size, which should make it easier to move units around the map and reduce units getting stuck.
- Fixed a bug in Chapter Twelve which could cause the boss fight to begin at the beginning of the map.

- Fixed a bug in Chapter Nine where you could end the map early by just flying around the map with Al'ar.
- Removed the ability Web from Kil'jaeden in Chapter Twelve which could prevent Kalecgos from executing his triggers.

- Increased Kargath's respawn timer in Chapter Ten.
- Added a new gold mine in Chapter Ten.

- Chapter Ten should be a little easier now.
- Lor'themar's Blood Cry has been buffed. It now lasts for 10 seconds and affects a larger area.
- Prophet Velen has a new model.
- Aurora and Vesper are now the collect colour in the Epilogue.

- Hawkstrider Knight now costs less resources, 3 food instead of 4, and does a little bit more damage.
- Phoenix now attacks a little slower, and can no longer increase its attack from the Blacksmith upgrades.

Illidan really likes saying "You are not prepared!" LOL.. He was defeated many times. First, he was caught making a second sunwell and was imprisoned for 10 thousand years, and then he was defeated by Mal'furion and his allies after using the eye of sargeras to destroy the cold north. And lastly but not the last, he was crushed by Arthas and his forces and left wounded in the snow, and still he's talking big ROFL

Got a problem while playing chapter 7 when met the wraith on south-east corner, tried about 10 times but the error screen keeps popping out said war3 mpq is corrupted, anyone has same situation? I was simple minded thought probably is the unit problem/action problem and tried to delete the unit(or the action) but it just can't and pops out the same screen again. Anybody can help? BTW this campaign is great! 5/5 for sure.

Can you make this campaign a little easy? this campaign is really awesome, i like how much you dedicate yourself to this campaign. It feels like a Blizzard Official Campaign. But can you add a difficulty option maybe?:)

You need to update your game. Chapter Three won't run without a newer patch.

Can you make this campaign a little easy? this campaign is really awesome, i like how much you dedicate yourself to this campaign. It feels like a Blizzard Official Campaign. But can you add a difficulty option maybe?:)

Glad you liked it, but I do not have any plans to change the difficulty.

I love this campaign, acutally, i love both campaigns - this one and the forsaken one, i've overplayed them many times, and i plan to do so again, feels like a vanilla style campaign if we were see new RTS warcraft in the future which would follow up the events of warcraft 3tft, i hope others will agree too, that i'd like to see both of them there! You deserve something more than just uploading both of them here, seriously.

I hope someone will actually try to make this a co-op style someday.

Difficulty is okay for the most maps (especially base-defence), sometimes its even boring (Black Temple with Demons and Sentinels), but the last mission was the pain of my existence, ehh, i remembered that i am playing custom campaign. AI is always ignoring the main base and targets only the heroes. Because of that attack on the orange base fails in most cases, AI has too many units and resourses.

Remember to keep with yourself the Phoenix Ashes, and the Cursed Crystal, use these to damage the buildings during the first minutes of the game, while the other two heros deal with the barracks and castle, after that you'll need to protect the golems and demolish the rest of the base.

Thanks for advices, i finished the map, but such cheesy tactic with almost multiplayer rush feels a bit strange in lore oriented campaign in my opinion.

I usually find it a bit difficult to balance the maps, and I think it's also different for everyone, some people say they enjoy the difficulty as it is, some say it's not hard at all, some say they find it pretty hard, and so on. I agree though the Black Temple map might get boring, since it takes a while.

In all fairness is dificult to balance against Naga and Fel Orc, Naga only starts losing ground with tier 2/3 units, and fel orc's chaos damage is another can of worms. Even the last combat mission, the enemy phoenix attacks really early in game so your stapple combo of archer/priest can't do nothing. In the later case, once you get your own Phoenix the enemy Blood Elf bases are only a formality.

To this day i've the feeling that the Hawkstrider is the only unit who is kinda here in the BE Techtree but don't offer anything special, in V.1 it was vital in the last Draenor mission, but now Blood Knights + Breakers offer an universal tanking solution while doing support.

I agree, someone already mentioned once that the Hawkstrider has no purpose. I actually meant to change it in the last update, but I guess I forgot. But honestly, I'm not sure what do with it. I think Phoenix is also still unbalanced. I tried to make them weaker by lowering their attack and giving them only 50% spell resistance, but they're still quite powerful. I'll have to do something about both of these units.

I like the upgrades to do in this campaign, but I'm starting to think you are doing only in this one. I was wondering if you are going to do the same in Curse of the Forsaken because it would be amazing if you do the same as this one, really?
Because I'm seen both campaign are, like, conected and for me it feels wierd playing diferent version of the same character, because some of the characters of Rise of the Blood Elves apprear in Curse of the Forsaken.
So, upgrade both campaign to the latest version would feel great, as same as playing Rise of the Blood Elves.
I really want to know if you are gonna upgrade Curse of the Forsaken and if you would, an idea I can give you is if you can include the 'Old God' (I saw it in another custom campaign) as another chapter, just like you did with Illidan in this one.

I installed this campaing yesterday and so far I played 3 missions, really professional work! Script for the characters is well written, Dialogues have sense and Gameplay is really enjoyable. However it could be more harder especially second mission with conquering Dark Citadel. Come on just one Generator? xD I didnt even see death tower in there. With all due respect but after all it is Dark citadel!! Skin to the HUD wow amazing, music really good everything seted up really well, I would say this is the best custom campaign I've played so far bravo! Perfect job!

I was surprised when tomo updated this campaign after long time and also he mentioned that he MAYBE, maybe do the same thing with Curse of the Forsaken...... so, i must ask Tomo: Is there at least small chance that u will return with Shadow of Blood ? U know, your campaigns are really profesional made and i really hope this project is not dead. I think i am speaking for everyone that we want to see more from your work. U made a great work and i wish u all good!

I like the upgrades to do in this campaign, but I'm starting to think you are doing only in this one. I was wondering if you are going to do the same in Curse of the Forsaken because it would be amazing if you do the same as this one, really?
Because I'm seen both campaign are, like, conected and for me it feels wierd playing diferent version of the same character, because some of the characters of Rise of the Blood Elves apprear in Curse of the Forsaken.
So, upgrade both campaign to the latest version would feel great, as same as playing Rise of the Blood Elves.
I really want to know if you are gonna upgrade Curse of the Forsaken and if you would, an idea I can give you is if you can include the 'Old God' (I saw it in another custom campaign) as another chapter, just like you did with Illidan in this one.

I installed this campaing yesterday and so far I played 3 missions, really professional work! Script for the characters is well written, Dialogues have sense and Gameplay is really enjoyable. However it could be more harder especially second mission with conquering Dark Citadel. Come on just one Generator? xD I didnt even see death tower in there. With all due respect but after all it is Dark citadel!! Skin to the HUD wow amazing, music really good everything seted up really well, I would say this is the best custom campaign I've played so far bravo! Perfect job!

I was surprised when tomo updated this campaign after long time and also he mentioned that he MAYBE, maybe do the same thing with Curse of the Forsaken...... so, i must ask Tomo: Is there at least small chance that u will return with Shadow of Blood ? U know, your campaigns are really profesional made and i really hope this project is not dead. I think i am speaking for everyone that we want to see more from your work. U made a great work and i wish u all good!

I just started playing and the intro cinematic doesn't load/work; it jumps to the first mission instead. Anyway, why is this campaign so hard??? Even the first two missions were difficult as hell!

The cinematic worked for some people, it didn't work for some, not sure why, honestly. As for the difficulty, I think that's different from person to person. Some people said they found it hard, some say they didn't.

I'm sorry for this noob question but how do I update a campaign without restarting my progress?

The campaign saves your heroes' even if you update, so if you download a new version, you can use the cheat to skip levels until you get to the one where you're at, and you will retain your items, so you will not lose anything.

Well, I added the Illidan chapter because I felt that part of the story was missing, since Kil'jaeden asks Kael'thas to do that. The Old Gods story wouldn't fit into Curse of the Forsaken because there is no mention of that story anywhere else in the campaign.

And yes, almost all of the units will be updated in some way, some will just have minor tweaks, others will get completely new abilities.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not really struggling, but the constant and frequent attacks can be quite bothersome. I lose an average of 20-30 units per mission, while killing well over 300 enemies. The thing is that I like to take things easy when I play single player campaigns. I am that guy who entrenches behind a hundred towers and focuses on exploration and side quests. I usually leave the base with my army only after I reveal most of the map and have all the upgrades. The constant attacks (especially from more directions and with golems or siege machines) is just frustrating. I have to admit that I am proud of myself for finding all the secrets so far, especially the Pandaren and the banshee behind the trees in the golems mission.

I'll have to get the update and finish the campaign to come back with a rating and some feedback. So far I haven't encountered any bugs though.

By the way @tomoraider as you updating the curse of the forsaken i would like to see some blood elves in the undercity because in the ending cinematic of the RotBE sylvanas said" i will be expecting your forces in undercity in 2 weeks, i will not be disappointed in this lor'themar". But i didn't see any cinematic that lor'themar send forces to aid sylvanas in her trouble in the undercity. Since both campaigns are connected. Oh i almost forgot can u put another map where sylvanas aid lorthemar with anveena i think that part of the campaign is missing in CotF but already announce in RotBE. Thanks for updating both campaign. How can i give points?

A new possible intro mission for RotBE. Could be events from the sunwell trilogy the would depict sylvanas lorthremar and kalecgis discovering anveena and putting her under kalecs protection .


This would make the last scenario less confusing to those who don't know more and would make dharkhan a better villain for first half by having build up on his unmentioned atrocities in collaborating with art has and trying to steal the unwell essence

Dude, this campaign never ends. Maybe you should break it into two campaigns or something. As amazing and awesome as it is, it's too much, and after a while it begins to feel like a drag.

I believe there's a bug with character monologue. During parts where the character image changes to show someone speaking, there's no text displayed. I only found out that something was being said when I pressed F12 to go to the log. Apart from that, this is a great campaign.

Thanks! Yes, nothing is voiced except a few parts where I took the voice lines from WoW.
 
Really nice campaign, but one thing kinda bothered me...
The Ruïns of Quel'thalas didn't really seem like how Blizzard made Quel'Thalas look in the first place. Now, that's not actualy what I'm complaining about here, since everyone has their own opinions. But what did bother me is that it looked more like just a country side of Lordaeron than what I would consider calling Quel'thalas.
You see, the fall Quel'thalas were one of my most favourite chapthers of the original campaign to play, because it just looked so different and original from the chapthers of the Scourge of Lordaeron. It just had this amazing atmosphere and nice enviorment: the lightgreen grass, the Lily pads, the buildings, the rivers and lakes, the small villages and layout...

Now, I understand this is supposed to be the Ruïns of Quel'thalas, but... I just can't explain with words, I'll start up the editor and show you how I would Imagine the Ruïns of Quel'Thalas...
