Map Info:

An alternate melee in my series of maps involving lore races from the Warcraft universe. This addition allows the players to explore and play as the graceful race of High Elves.

The High Elves, or the Quel'dorei, are an ancient race of elves with an insatiable thirst for magic. They derive their power from the sacred Sunwell, which they revere and guard fiercely. Once akin to the Night Elves, their paths diverged—while the Night Elves dedicated themselves to safeguarding the forests, the High Elves embraced the arcane energies of the Sunwell.

The High Elves employ a balanced combination of melee, ranged, and magical combat to strike down their foes. Through the casting of holy and arcane magics, they maintain their strength alongside their battle-hardened frontline warriors, who stand ready to lay down their lives for the Sunwell and their kingdom.



Features:

Play as a new race, and behold the tactics and abilities to utilize their various strategies to bring the fight to the enemy.

- 4 Custom Heroes: Liberator, Ranger-General, Arcanomancer and Grand Magus.

- a list of new items reflecting the High Elven race.

Sunwell Blessings: The forces of the High Elves draw their strength and resilience from the radiant light of the Sun. During daylight hours or while under the effects of Daylight Aura, High Elven units gain additional combat effects, along with increased health and mana regeneration.

Runed Stonework: High Elven structures were crafted and imbued with powerful runes to enhance their resilience during times of hardship. As a result, these structures regenerate hit points during the day or while under the effects of Daylight Aura. This effect can be further enhanced through the Bejeweled Plating upgrade.

Guardposts: The workers of the High Elven forces, known as Artisans, are proficiently trained in the use of shortbows. These dedicated laborers can be stationed within Main Structures, Silverworks, or Sawmills to fire arrows at nearby enemies. Each additional Artisan garrisoned increases the number of arrows fired.

Refuge: In times of dire need, the humble citizens of the High Elves serve in whatever way they can. Injured warriors may take refuge within the Abode, the primary food structure, where they gradually regenerate hit points while remaining protected from harm.



How to Play:

TO PLAY AS THE HIGH ELVES, CHOOSE HUMAN AT 90% HANDICAP WHEN CHOOSING YOUR RACE.

I wish you could like make a map with all the races you have make inside it, like mash all the other races into one big map, that would be fun for sure :D. This map was rely fun though :3

it was really lagging when i play, did you encounter this? i think the every seconds triggers are making it lagging, i've made a map that had that kind of trigger aswell and it make it lag.. so bad, or perhaps it is just because on my laptop? idk, every time it lag, i feel lagging to.. ,-,

I hate to be that guy who bumps a topic, but I need to know. Is there a campaign planned for these races you have created? That or, do you know of someone who has done campaigns for these races?

I tried making a campaign in my spare time, I have a few missions with the Draenei, but I find it so boring and time consuming to make the actual campaign.
If someone is willing to make a campaign using one my factions, I'd be ok with it as long as they asked.

Oooo! Oooo! I'll do one for the Highborne! I have had zero experience of level creation outside of a week when I was 15 at a computer camp, but yeah. I would love to do it.



Sooooo a quick question, how do I get the Highborne units to show up in the World Editor?

Been playing this map again recently cuz I love custom races.
A bug I noticed is when I can get eagle Flyers upgrades before I can train eagle flyers, same goes for the dragonhawk riders.
the bug is the upgrades are available before you can train the unit. perhaps update the upgrades to be the same restrictions as the unit has?

Hello i have a problem with your maps. I have 1.31 patch installed.
Every time I play one of your maps they start lagging.
I don't know why this is happening, because I didn't experience this with other maps.
I tried Dark Horde and Fel Horde, Nightborne, High Elves, Illidari, Felblood Elves and Void Elves and they are all lagging.
I played maps from other creators and I didn't experience any lag.
I really like your maps and all the models you used in them but unfortunately i can't play it (⌣̩̩́_⌣̩̩̀).
If someone knows what is the problem please help...

This map gives me some "lag" as others stated, though "micro-stutters" is the proper term, on version 1.31.1 and 1.30.4, but anything lower than 1.30 (like 1.29) it's fine.

What could be the cause of this? Could it be some new function in 1.31 that is no longer compatible with older versions, hence causing these stutters?
There has to be a way to fix it, I'm really interested in playing this on 1.31.

Its one of my older maps with bad and inefficient triggers. And it doesnt work well with the newer versions of Wc3. I plan on updating them.
 
Also crashed on this one. I think this is the replay. I used 1.29 for this one (since this is my preferred patch, and it looks like it's 1.26 with JNGP if I look at the data correctly).

I have another run in longer duration and it does not crash. I suspect the Paladin hero might be the potential source, the Effulgence ability.

I see. This one definitely needs an update. A lot of my older maps do.

Great, really liked the Grand Magus hero, i liked that you didn't follow the normal high elves custom race that just picks a lot of the units from the from the blood elves or from the high elves already in the game. The day mechanic is nice but i don't know if it fits high elves 100%, they are more magic oriented. Still really nice gameplay and i hope you add this race to the war's legacy, and illidari as well

Glad you liked 'em. I plan on adding them to War's Legacy eventually for sure.
Good job. And any plan for Zandala Troll?
Not anytime soon. But I have had ideas for them.

This High Elven incarnation is strong. Really strong - especially those knight-like units with banner spawn spell - giving a race bonus for nearly free at any time you want + having a well-sufficient melee tank and damaged.
I thought that the High Elven archer passive did not work. Maybe I didn't see its effects, maybe it isn't working at all.
There is no classic healer, only via race daylight aura bonus? Well I do not complain, but it was a surprise - no priests, eh?

Overall this race felt strong and I liked playing it.
Recommend it to any elven patriot and - For Quel'Thalas!

Yeah, those guys are quite handy! The Markswomen passive works, there is just no fancy effect for it.
There's also the use of having the Abode's be able to heal. Its a big and important mechanic. I think the Mage-Priests and Mystic fill the Priest role well enough, I didnt want yet another Priest copy-paste.

I found a weird bug, for some reason when i put human Ai they build knights with 9100 hp, this already happened sometimes for some reason i don't know why.

You managed to get a version between updates. The latest doesn't have that issue. Thanks for the bug report nonetheless.

I must admit you are getting better and better my friend. Your new races are really showing how much you have improved since you have started this amazing project.

What I like the most that you are keeping it simple, yet still interesting and new. Before you were a little bit overcomplicating things for my taste.

Like for example this race. You pretty much took WC3 High Elves and just improved them to a 2025 standards.

Great job, keep it up!
