1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.

3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

Does anyone know where to download the 2.0 version of the game?
Sadly, Tomoraider doesn't provide an older versions of this campaign because, you know, older versions are too buggy for most patches.
The only option for you is by downloading this newer version, which probably requires higher version of Warcraft 3 BEYOND 1.26 and 1.27.

Hey,
i enjoyed playing through the campaign; there was excitement and epics.
Perhaps u could now add ai voice to the dialogues. that wolud leave a new impression in it, but thats just my guess.

Glad you enjoyed it. I will not be adding AI voices, however, it's not something I am interested in doing.

I have started Rise of the Blood Elves in Reforged and its amaizing

Glad you liked it!

Absolutely spectacular campaign and one of my most beloved. It functions in my mind as personal determinant of both community standard and the quality me and my brother tried to match in our own project - Exodus. Quel'Thalas arc is one of the experiences I remind from time to time since I played it for the first time years ago.

Thank you, this means a lot!

I'd like to give a review of the Rise of the Blood Elves campaign: (review may contain spoilers)

Global enjoyment: I'm not gonna lie it wasn't catchy for me. I don't know why it got boring at some poing because the campaign is great
in itself (which I'm going to objectively talk about later on). Having to play some fel elves or wretched would've probably
make my opinion rise a lot. The boss fight in the end was not a big joy, the fact that there was no specific chapter
for this one is kinda disapointing. This was not the campaign made for me but it probably is for other people.
I had probably more expectations when starting it, there was a lack of diversity in my opinion. +0.25

Scenario: As always, an important part for me. This was well made, I didn't play WoW but I suppose it respects
the lore to a 100%. Cinematics are great, very good in fact, nothing is too much and you don't get lost in them.
That quest/hunger for power from Kael'thas is a nice plot to use but could've turned better with the use of fel elves
and wretched (the effort of making the soldier very thinn and drained in the models is appreciated and could've been more exploited).
Kael'thas kinda dies pathetically not gonna lie, this should've been done better because he made a pact with Kiljaeden
so he is not a weakling. Everyone around is kinda nice, Lady Liadrin is true to herself nice character, Lorthemar humble man
Aewynne is kinda childish looking, nothing too deep with this character and Alessandra being important in the role of the plot.
Evil side wise, Dark'han is really cool, him using wretched would've been cooler than just being a bad guy, there should've been
more things exploited in the cave with "experiences" that were sealed instead of just a big shade that Sylvanas kills.
Black Temple assault was cool, could've had the opportunity to play some demons but I guess not...
I haven't seen or don't remember any obvious syntax/grammar problem so it was nice. +0.75

Terrain: This is the best part of this campaign, the terrain was goddamn good. The use of enormous building, the use
of these custom curtains is so nice. The sunwell is so clean, the underground is aswell. Quel'thalas is very nice (a bit
tiny) there is nothing to say it's nearly perfect. +1

Techtree: Not much to say to be honest. Very classic techtree and buildings. The golems are very nice when they arrive
they are very powerfull and fun to use. The battle maid (is it the name?) with AOE armor and healing is cool. Phenix
is a cool unit, having different types of it would've been even better, some units are always left behind I guess. Nothing bad, nothing crazy. +0.5

Heroes: Kael'thas is very classic, I bring the fel elves aspect on the table again but having him use demonic power
would've been so nice. Alessandra had actually a very interesting kit, DPS mage role was cool but the fact that
you disable your auto attacks when using your Q is kinda anti-synergic. Lorthemar is neat, nothing to say. Lady
Liadrin is neat aswell, the best hero in fact. Aewynne is fulfiling her ranger role. +0.75

Difficulty: Everything was made in hard, its good, the bet is to not make things lame (I think one of the first mission
against Dark'han was lame but its the only exception). The crucial moments such as boss fights and survival are not guarenteed
wins so it makes them enjoyable and makes you think a bit. +1

Overall this is subjectively not made for me but is objectively very nice, I could recommend this to anyone. 4.25/5

Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed it. I agree with most of your points, especially the ones about the story and characters.

One of the Easiest 5/5 stars I've ever given

Gonna be honest though I don't think I thought this game would be that difficult. Its crazy.
Besides Iseedeadpeople I didn't use any cheats.

My simple request would be that give us access to your allies bases. Like when you fight with Maiev or in the last mission.

It would be pretty cool to control all those bases.

The Final Misson Lore wise makes sense. I've never been a fan of timed mission but you know personal preference and all that.

I guess my "Criticism" boils down to I wish there was more stuff lmao.

I know you said you wanted to update Rise of the Blood elves for over 2 years now. No pressure.

Curse of the Forsaken Classic

Hi everyone! I have made an update post on the upcoming update for Curse of the Forsaken. Check it out here: Curse of the Forsaken v3.0.1

State of Rise of the Blood Elves

Speaking of Rise of the Blood Elves, my intention is to make an update after I finish the CotF update. It will include the same new system changes from CotF, such as the new AI system, but I intend for this to be an update that will largely overhaul the story of Rise of the Blood Elves and a revamp a couple of the maps, in similar vein as CotF v3.0.

Currently, as I've already said a few times, the story of RotBE is fairly simple with some - in my opinion - bad moments. Overall, it's not bad. It's passable. But I think it can be much better, a story that would truly explore the theme of the blood elves' desperation and rebirth, as Curse of the Forsaken does with Sylvanas' vengeance.

For now, however, I am focused on the new update for Curse of the Forsaken. Once there's anything to be said for RotBE, I'll let you know!

Discord server

Additionally, I've created a Discord server for the discussion of my campaigns. I will share screenshots there, occasionally ask for suggestions, and update you on the progress of the campaign as I'm working on it. I have made separate channels for discussing RotBE and CotF. Feel free to join if you'd like to discuss my campaigns and share any of your own suggestions.

I really hope there will be updated version for reforged, with all the dificulties of it, this version is now outdated and crushes many times, but the campaign itself is one of the best. Best one is the curse of the forsaken.

Does this campaign work properly in Reforged if playing under classic graphics? I've been itching to play it again :)

Thanks!
I checked the previous posts on this thread, and some people didn't have an issues with gameplay on Reforged (1.36). However, I highly suggest playing this campaign on Classic graphics because if you play on Reforged graphics, you might run into unwanted issues.

Yeah that makes sense. I have seen you tube vids of some of the custom voice lines not working, does anyone know more about that?

it mostly is, although the AI might behave weirdly sometimes, especialy in chapter 3 or 4, the one where you are destroing crystals and then defending tempest keep from liadrin, she goes in with full army instead of small groups of enemies

No words! Best campaing!
100 of 10!

P.S. It’s a pity that according to the WoW plot, KelTas was leaked. For me, he was a wonderful character in whom they could reveal more than repeat the “copy of Arthas’ story.” And going through this campaign with my soul and thoughts, I understand how everyone in the WoW plot flushed this moment down the toilet. But nevertheless, I am very pleased to play this masterpiece on the Warcraft 3 engine again))

The Blood Knight reskin doesn't seem to work properly in newer versions, even with classic graphics on. Does anyone know a fix for that?

EDIT: I'm not averse to fiddling with world editor if that's necessary to fix it.

You can open the campaign editor and in the imported files tab, find the "units/creeps/watcher/watcher.blp" import and change the path to "Textures\Watcher.blp", that should fix it.

I don't remember the defense portion of chapter 5 being so overwhelming on previous playthroughs. I'm on 1.27b, but I'm just getting hammered relentlessly from all sides.

EDIT: Second attempt going way better. I think if this mission were ever revisited design-wise, it might be generous to give the player either an Arcane Vault or Sanctuary of the Sun at base to make it easier to tech up to Spellbreakers right away. Churning those boys out is absolutely vital to your defense, while Arcane Golems just kinda melt all the footmen you're given.

I tried this (never edited this game before at all) changing its file name to "Units\Creeps\Watcher\Textures\Watcher.blp" but it didn't seem to work. Do I need to export the file, open it in notepad, change the path there, and then replace the old file with the new one?

Edit: Tried changing the name back to just "Units\Creeps\Watcher\Watcher.blp" and now it's telling me that an asset with that configuration already exists.

The campaign overall is overtuned. It's missing a more balanced difficulty. If I do update in the future, adding multiple difficulties is a top priority.

Edit: Tried changing the name back to just "Units\Creeps\Watcher\Watcher.blp" and now it's telling me that an asset with that configuration already exists.
That glitch happens sometimes when changing paths, I'm not sure what causes it. You just need to close the campaign and the editor and try again. In the worst case, right click on the file whose path you're trying to change, export it, then delete the imported file, save the campaign and close the editor, then open the editor and the campaign again and import the file again and set the right path.

But you also set the wrong path. It needs to be just "Textures\Watcher.blp", not "Units\Creeps\Watcher\Textures\Watcher.blp". Let me know if it works.

Tried this. Nothing was working. It wiped my saved data as well, so I'm just going to re-download the file and start over. I'd rather not try to figure out exporting and importing as I have no clue how that works (is it basically just copy and pasting or does it get exported somewhere???) Thanks for the help either way. I'll let you know if my fresh install works after I make the changes

Nah, having just got done going TFT hard into RotBE, RotBE up to the start of ch6 is so much more comfortable difficulty-wise. With the Scourge campaign in TFT especially, it often felt like my windows to attack enemy bases were really narrow.

Then again this is my third time playing through RotBE so I generally know how to deal with the maps.

On my second attempt at ch5 I teched up to Spellbreakers ASAP and massed them, and I had a much easier time repelling attacks. Arcane Golems are a massive problem to repel with low-tech Blood Elves but Spellbreakers just wreck them hard (Feedback melts them and they can't even fight back).

Is there a guide or written walkthrough anywhere? I feel like I'd be having an easier time with some of these missions if I had some good strategies. I'm stuck on Amplification right now.
I just got through that one, so I can help.

Right away build a Sanctuary of the Sun and an Arcane Vault. Mass produce Spell Breakers whenever you have the money for them. The Wretched from the south and north only produce Sorceresses, Swordsmen, and Arcane Goldems, while Dar'Khan comes with Skellies (I believe he summons them with an ability, so Feedback does bonus damage), Banshees, Arcane Golems, and Crypt Fiends from the west. The casters and Golems can't do anything to Spell Breakers, and Feedback is instrumental in quickly dispatching the otherwise pretty tanky Dar'Khan and Arcane Golems. The first few minutes is pretty slow but by around 15 minutes left things get pretty hectic. Do not try to replace lost swordsmen, because the Arcane Golems just shred them.

Once your situation is a little stable, build an Arcane Sanctum, upgrade your priests and sorceresses, and produce a few sorceresses. Use their silence skill on groups of enemy casters when you see them. There's another gold mind to the west of your base guarded by a high-level golem, take him out and claim it if you have the time. When you have the time and resources for it, mass Arcane Towers at your three entrances as well. They're effective against enemies the same way Spell Breakers are. Lor'Themar should hit level 6 after a few waves, save it for Dar'Khan when he shows up, but he doesn't seem as aggressive as the Wretched in this phase. You should try to build up to 2 control groups, which should be pretty easy if you focus on Spell Breakers. Also, get your melee weapons and heavy armor upgrades out. Rangers also aren't bad since they help Breakers dispatch the mages pretty effectively and they tend to stay pretty safe thanks to their range and Breakers forming a good front line in this mission.

Once the defense portion is over it gets quite a bit easier since you get Kael and Alessandra, all their sorceresses and priests, and 3 arcane golems for free. Your starting gold mine is timed to run out right about now, so go claim the one guarded by the golems. Once your base has enough arcane towers to weather an attack, take your forces through the south exit and wipe out the Wretched base in that direction, it's pretty poorly defended. Just be careful not to let your Arcane Golems eat Arcane Tower shots. The north Wretched base is harder to crack since the only entrance is very narrow, but just throwing a lot of units should do the trick honestly: Wretched don't have much in the way of a tech tree. With those two bases clear the pressure will be much lower. There's an easy purple Scourge base (it doesn't ever send attacks) with a gold mine in it on the way to the north Wretch base, and there's a secret banshee hidden behind some trees in the south Wretched base that drops a Crown of Kings if you select her.

For Dar'Khan's main base you need to cross a cramped swampy area with purple Scourge defending, I suggest taking a smaller group of mostly Spell Breakers and your heroes. Be careful not to get caught by an attack from Dar'Khan while you're doing this. Dar'Khan's main green base isn't heavily defended, but it's very cramped and half of it is on high ground. Build up 4~5 Arcane Golems and have them lead the charge. Remember Kael's AOE spells can damage buildings, and have Alessandra use her Q on Dar'Khan or the odd Frost Wyrm in the base: the AI is bad about breaking her channel and she can get permanent or near-permanent uptime on her lockdown.

Advice blurbs for the other missions:
Ch2 - Lean heavily on the naga. Churn out their upgrades quick and mass Myrmidons. There's no need to rush down the power generation and the naga never get attacked. Move quickly to take the neutral clans, and mass Tidal Defenders at the T-junction directly between yours and Illidan's base.

Ch3 - Abuse Aewynne's stealth to reach the Mana Domes without killing too many enemies. 50 blood elves is really generous, and the side quest ends when you destroy all 3 domes. Save Alessandra's Q for Liadrin, Blood Knights (they look like Night Elf Sentries), and Dragonhawk Riders in that order. When you get to the last Liadrin fight at Tempest Keep, sneak units along the right side up the ramp and poke at her from long range, then pull her down the ramp and take her down there. She should come down with very few of her allies, making it easy to focus her down. If you can get to the defend portion with most of your units healthy and your gold supply good, you should be fine. Abuse the high ground.

Ch4 - Mass towers, especially Arcane Towers, at your north entrance. That'll easily repel Dar'Khan. The enemy never attacks your other entrances aside from the scripted attack at the beginning. Bring a full control group + ballista to Lor'Themar, then take all his combat units and yours and take out the purple Scourge base, it should be easy. Remember to use Sorceresses to silence the miniboss Necromancers.

From the looks of it, you might have accidentally opened that file that's NOT associated with the program, in this case, the World Editor. I think you had mistakenly clicked on that file after downloading the files.

Sorry if this is the off-topic, but if you want to play this campaign without making some changes, make sure to do what Footman suggested.

Hello! I played through your campaign and enjoyed it. I would like to report some bugs, however. I played in version 1.30.4 and as the attached picture suggests the blood knight has night elven model instead of its blood elven one. During the 4th mission if you skip the cutscene when Dar'khan first appears then the green undead base never activates. On the 5th mission the purple undead base does not activate. Also the game constantly crashes during the Dar'khan boss fight.

1.30.4 (and 1.27b) gives many small errors not only the ones you listed. 1.27b is the most suitable version for RotBE v.3 but for example on Chap.4 you have to collect the four parts of the golem only with Lotemar because if you get even one part with the other character you will have to replay the level (you can't finish it). Acceptable flaws that clearly did not deserve to be fixed over the years. I don't believe this version will get any future bug fixes. You can wait for the new version for RF, which will have great improvements, but still the Classic graphics :vw_wtf:, not for HD.

@tomoraider
Why do people have Reforged?
- because of the HD graphics mostly or entirely (only from the perspective of a user and not a developer)

Having RF and having to play the old campaign (this or any other) on SD instead of HD graphics even with major improvements is ridiculous!

RotBE v.3 120MB on 1.27b (around 1-1.5GB) stable version, minor flaws, suitable on any PC, perfect picture at 1920x1080 and even better at 1.30 for example

VS

New RotBE(C) 200-400MB I guess on RF (around 30GB or more) unstable version, heavy and not suitable for every PC, perfect 4K picture (most likely), HD-super-hyper HD graphic, super and hyper zoom, a mod for custom campaigns, which, according to @tulee (Curse of the Forsaken v3.0.1), can play everything (with only a few exceptions), not only error-free but also fixes bugs present in older WC editions etc. a lot of extras and you will give me 15 year old graphics

BUT both SD ?!!?

This is a clever marketing tactic that is widely applied in the market for all types of goods:
First, you release a version of the game with improvements, but in standard definition (SD). After a few years of bug fixing, you release the same game, but this time in high definition (HD). Looking at how frequently your two games have been updated over the years, I believe you have secured yourself a lifelong job with this marketing strategy.

From my perspective, this is what your actions appear to be when viewed from the side. Once you have decided to redo the games for RF - OK,
optimize it for HD.

Can't you see how poor the visuals appear on RF in the two clips above on HD?

Can't you see that players prefer to experience the game in HD rather than SD?

It is absurd and disappointing if you do not see this!

I have to say, this post is quite rude and you have made a large amount of assumptions about me, my campaigns and the community in this post that are all based on your opinions, yet you are practically stating them as facts. I will not address your post point by point, I will only say this: this is not a job. I am not making any money here. There is no marketing tactic employed here. This is a hobby I do for fun and enjoy sharing with the community.

but you couldn't quote at least one sentence that offended you or someone else! Yes, my opinion is that if your future work on the two campaigns will not be in HD format - it is meaningless to me. What's the use of this RF with so many extras since I'll have to look at the triangular images again?

large amount of assumptions about me, my campaigns and the community
for example? Cite which sentences are like that and which in my statement is not true.

that are all based on your opinions
it is clear enough that this is my opinion. If you run a survey for both campaigns "Do you want the new versions in SD or HD format?" I am convinced that the HD format will win convincingly, which in itself proves the rightness of my opinion. If you think that my statements are "assumptions", do your research and see the results for yourself.

Yes, I can see you have the desire but you just don't know how to do it. However, this is not a custom campaign.

any reasonable person in this forum knows that you are not here to sell but to share.

There is no marketing tactic employed here
Yes, there isn't. Unlike Blizzard, for example, you won't earn anything from the new versions of the two campaigns. But these two revisions that you have started to do are only the first step of a whole sequence of actions. As soon as you have taken the first step in this direction, you will also take all the others, which I already call "marketing tactics" with the difference that you are sharing and not selling. It's like walking - if you take a step with the left foot, you will inevitably take a step with the right and vice versa.

Overall, your comment is pointless, thoughtless, and unreasonable.

If you don't like SD graphics, then why do you even bother to write here? Imagine that there are still a huge number of people who will take SD over HD. That's shocking, right?:con:
Anyway, if you dont have any valuable suggestions on how to improve the campaign, or any bugs to report, then please be so kind and dont piss of fans of this campaign in here 🙏

Please stop demanding people to make stuff how you want it. Make your own non-triangular shapes to gaze at for hours and hours.

You are the first accuser. Where is your evidence? You ask the author to waste time doing "research" that serves your purpose but you don't have the decency to come with any beforehand.

Indeed, tomoraider was wrong calling your post rude, it's actually horrifying. The first sentence clearly shows your prejudicial character. The second is just random gibberish.

Clearly, even ChatGPT in its inception gave a better analysis and response than you have. But I guess you might be using an online translator and misunderstood most of everything.

This quote is enough to repeat my point. I didn't respond to your post in full because you are using condescending, patronizing language and putting words in my mouth, like here, assuming you know what I'm thinking, and assuming in other parts of your posts you know what I intend to do in the future or even what other people are thinking.

Plenty of people have reached out to me with similar opinions about SD/HD graphics like yours and we've had civil conversations. There is nothing to discuss here when you are using such disrespectful language in your posts, which means to me you didn't make your post with honest feedback and discussion in mind.
