1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.

3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns
if you have the 1.28 patch.
4) Play the campaign!

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

- Ragebeast Clan bug fixed in Chapter Two.

- Dar'khan's units at the end now attack in faster intervals in Chapter Seven.
- You now start allied with other blood elves in Chapter Three.
- You now get the side quest in Chapter Three later.

- Demon Portals in Chapter Eleven now work through triggers.

Main Changes
- World of Warcaft: The Burning Crusade CGI Cinematic now plays as the intro to the campaign.
- New map: Chapter Ten - The Siege of Black Temple.
- Campaign cover picture updated.
- Heavily rewritten dialogues in: Chapter One, Three, Four, Five, Six, Nine and Eleven (Ten), and in almost all of the interludes. Other chapters have received some minor alterations to dialogues.
- Rewritten intro descriptions to almost all maps.
- Lowered collision size of almost all units for easier pathing.
- Updated a lot of tooltips.
- Cinematics updated.
- Difficulty altered in most maps, harder maps should now be a bit easier.
- Aewynne is no longer controllable in Chapter Eleven (Ten).

Techtree Changes
- Arcane Affinity now reduces magic damage by 25% (was 20%).
- Magic Sentry now instead gives Towers the ability to increase nearby friendly units' mana regeneration.

Hawkstrider Knight
- Requires Sanctuary instead of Spire to be trained.
- Cleave now strikes 25% of damage to nearby enemy units (was 12%).

Sorceress
- Can now once again use Polymorph.
- Can no longer use Illusion.

Arcane Golem
- Resistant Skin is now called Prismatic Barrier and also gives Arcane Golems passive health regeneration.

Blood Knight
- Holy Light heals for 250 hit points (from 125).
- Seal of Protection now lasts 30 seconds (from 25).
- Wings of Retribution increases movement speed and attack rate by 40%. Has a new special effect when cast.

Ballista
- Damage buffed.

Phoenix
- No longer has Spell Immunity. Instead, has a new ability, Spell Resistance, which reduces magic damage taken by 50%.
- Now costs 7 food (from 6).

Kael'thas
- Can no longer use Summon Lava Spawn. Instead, can use Summon Al'ar, which summons Al'ar, a powerful phoenix, to fight alongside Kael'thas.

Alessandra
- Has a new voice. (Valeera from Heroes of the Storm)
- Soulburn has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Alessandra's attack speed.
- Dark Soul's Voidlord is no longer immobile.

Lor'themar
- Has a new model and a new icon.
- Flames of Retribution no longer does friendly fire. Now costs 75 mana (from 85).
- Blood Cry now affects a larger area. Now costs 50 mana (from 90).
- Can no longer use Dashing Winds. Instead, has a new ability, Living Bomb, which adds extra damage on each attack and causes units that die while under the effect to explode, dealing damage to nearby enemy units.

Liadrin
- Has a new model, a new icon and a new voice.
- Desiccation Aura is no longer visually displayed.

Aewynne
- Paralysing Arrow's range is now 800 (was 600).
- Evergreen now costs 50 mana (from 75).
- Marksmanship has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Aewynne's attack damage.
- Volley of Arrows no longer does friendly fire.

Sylvanas
- Has a new voice.

Kalecgos
- Has a new voice.
- Abilities are now stronger.

- Lowered all units' collision size, which should make it easier to move units around the map and reduce units getting stuck.
- Fixed a bug in Chapter Twelve which could cause the boss fight to begin at the beginning of the map.

- Fixed a bug in Chapter Nine where you could end the map early by just flying around the map with Al'ar.
- Removed the ability Web from Kil'jaeden in Chapter Twelve which could prevent Kalecgos from executing his triggers.

- Increased Kargath's respawn timer in Chapter Ten.
- Added a new gold mine in Chapter Ten.

- Chapter Ten should be a little easier now.
- Lor'themar's Blood Cry has been buffed. It now lasts for 10 seconds and affects a larger area.
- Prophet Velen has a new model.
- Aurora and Vesper are now the collect colour in the Epilogue.

- Hawkstrider Knight now costs less resources, 3 food instead of 4, and does a little bit more damage.
- Phoenix now attacks a little slower, and can no longer increase its attack from the Blacksmith upgrades.

Really nice campaign, but one thing kinda bothered me...
The Ruïns of Quel'thalas didn't really seem like how Blizzard made Quel'Thalas look in the first place. Now, that's not actualy what I'm complaining about here, since everyone has their own opinions. But what did bother me is that it looked more like just a country side of Lordaeron than what I would consider calling Quel'thalas.
You see, the fall Quel'thalas were one of my most favourite chapthers of the original campaign to play, because it just looked so different and original from the chapthers of the Scourge of Lordaeron. It just had this amazing atmosphere and nice enviorment: the lightgreen grass, the Lily pads, the buildings, the rivers and lakes, the small villages and layout...

Now, I understand this is supposed to be the Ruïns of Quel'thalas, but... I just can't explain with words, I'll start up the editor and show you how I would Imagine the Ruïns of Quel'Thalas...

Hmm, honestly, that still looks kinda the same to me. I don't really think the specific feel of the Quel'Thalas levels can be recreated as ruins with the default assets within the editor. There may be some custom models that could help there, but I'm not sure I'd really want to change it at this point.

7 Velens out of 7 for the campaign. I enjoyed it a lot. I was a bit sad to not have seen Vorental and.. Kael kills Illidan? No no no please no)) and Kargath with arms too ;) all the esle is just fabilous :) may be give some more time to read the dialogs but.. meh) dunno

Humm, i have a problem which i don't know how to solve... siphon mana in the original game states in the tool tip it can GIVE mana to allied units -- but that never worked for me (error: "can't target friendly units"), was this a bug? But as it does not work in RotBE too, i wonder if it does not because of the same bug, or because in RotBE its just a draining ability ?

And a suggestion: Shouldn't Lor'Themar, as a BattleMAGE, intrinsically being able to attack air units? Activating both Attack 1 and 2 in his editor would allow that, attack two an only-air ranged attack ...with or without projectile, the "instant" attack type that standard human dwarf marksmen have would fit, his sword his would just magically hit air units so to say.

Hey everyone! I added a translations section in the campaign's description. So far, I am familiar with the russian translation of v3.0, but I do not know if any other exist. I was contacted by some of you about the earlier versions, but if you know of any other translations of v3.0, let me know so I can link them as well.

Huh. To be perfectly honest, I never actually tried that function with Siphon Mana. I will check it out!

As for Lor'themar, that makes sense, but I think he's already quite powerful, and adding a ranged attack might make him way too powerful.

I like the way you kept the story canon almost 100% without failing the gameplay and the story. I don't wanna spoil anything to people who still haven't played this, but try not to give tomes, and items to Keal'thas for a reason you'll know later on...hehe

OMG tamoraider i rated 5/5 but one thing...... I clicked the sorceress....... BOOM ON DESKTOP... But it worked on my other laptop :D

gotta say, it's nice to see many significant changes within the campaign development
I've been thinking, do you have any plan on making a campaign based on other WOW version?
really want to see more story about MoP, WoD or even Legions...
oh and, one more thing, do you have anything of changing the model for Varian in CotF?

Well, I'd love to do another campaign in the future, but like I've said many times, I've had trouble finding a storyline I've been as invested in as I was in the blood elven or the Forsaken storylines.

Something about Emerald dream or Well of Eternity and Highborne could be awesome ;) Just suggestion

Hello, tomoraider, I don't know if you're still making the newest version for Curse of the Forsaken or almost finishing it. It´s been a long time since I last played it but I want to make some suggestions you might consider it, not that I want you to do it, just suggesting.

CHAPTERS:
-I guess the chapters will have some changes like the dialoges like your previous campaign. If you're going to add a new chapter, Why not adding a new chapter like your previous campaign? You know, for more experience, gameplay with other heroes that are not Sylvanas, like Jaina, Thrall, such heroes.
-You said you were going to include a cinemtic entry, like in your previous campaign, right? Would it be the Lich King?

-I have nothing to say for Ghouls, only if is there a posibility to make them a bit more resistant, and take of the icon of 'gather wood' because, if you have workers can gather gold and wood in your main building, why the Ghouls still have to gather? They could be more warriors like the swordman.
-Dark Rangers having a pet spider helping them isn´t too much? Those spider easily died and the 'slow poison' is almost like the 'poison arrow' the Dark Ranger have, not to mention the 'dark arrow' that is similar to Sylvanas's. I was thinking, how about a flying forsaken riderless unit instead of the spiders, in that way, the Dark Rangers can mount them or dismount them, also can leave spots when using the boats and attack those units scouting in the lakes, forest or places that groung units can´t reach. An for the 'dark arrow' probably something darker that can slow attack and/or movement like a void or something. In adition, the Dark Ranger's voice could be change to Sylvanas's original voice (the one that is in Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne)
-Dreadguard is fine, only if you can raise his mana point a little bit so he can make the 'lifesurge' twice in a round and I'm not sure if you can give them the 'defense' ability.
-Apothecary's spell are almost good. The first spell is like a 'fire bolt' that only stun 1 second, can it be 2 seconds?. The 'noxious cloud is a bit annoying because it also afects you own units but I guess you have to use it smartly. The last spell I see it very little, so few waves and healing points, I was hoping you could raise them, you know, more waves and more healing points.
-Banshee's spells are OK, including the one that replace the 'curse' spell. I see that reduce a bit the armor, can't it reduce the damage, too?
-I was thinking you might add another spellcaster for the spellcarster building, I don't know what kind so I hope you have a great idea.
-Meat wagons are OK with its upgrade and its 'noxious cloud', I guess.
-Gargoles, well, I think you could add an ability for its own, I was thinking in some kind of 'air slide' that can damage units in a line or something like that.
-Abominations can be more than that, even when it dies, it let those little parasites to fight but they easily died. Those parasites can infest enemy units or something that makes them multiples.
-Val'kyr's are amazing, but if there are 2 similar Val'kyr with diferent colors, why not giving them diferent spells? For example, one could have 'raising dead' spells and the other could have 'freezing spells'. I was thinking that because of the colors.

BUILDINGS:
-The way buildings are constructed are fine, but those that are like undead buildings, it could be constructed like the others building, not like summoning. This is the Forsaken campaign, so I guess all the building should be constructed in the same way, right?.
-The time buildings are constructed could be a little faster, it about the farms because it takes a bit long for something small.
-Towers with the Dark Ranger's arrows is something I've never seen in a tower, those 2 upgrades for the towers are great, have you thought about upgrading to a Death Tower?

HEROES:
-Sylvanas's 3 first abilities are OK, the last on, the one that summons Banshees could last long, 90s perhaps, and another spell like a 'shockwave', similar to the naga royal guard.
-Sylvanas's subname may be change from 'Dark Ranger' to 'The Dark Lady' or 'Queen of the Forsaken'.
-Phaelynne's first 2 spells are fine, but the one that makes her faster might be an auto-spell and casted to the rest of their units to make them faster, you know what I mean, the last spell that creates a cloud that unable anyone there to attack, why not make it that only enemy units can't attack? And instead of an selectable area, it might be a large area around her?
-Jaina's abilities are OK, except the 'summoning a water element', for the last upgrade to that spell, I was thinking of giving it a spell or make it inmune to magic.
-Varian's abilities are not very comfortable, for me, I liked those before version 2.1, the one that had 'stompwar', 'devotion aura', 'reincarnation', those spells, but if you have in mind other spells better than the actual one, I would like to see it in the newest version.
-Vereesa's abilities are OK for me.
-Trhall and Garrosh's abilities are OK, but they could have some changes in their spells, I supose.

Well, that's all I'm suggesting, I don't know if you're gonna pick them, but that's all up to you.
I'll be waiting for the release of your newest version of Curse of the Forsaken.

Uh, how do I get past the collapsing cave in chapter seven? None of the heroes activate the gate or the circle during the timed bit...

You have to drop the Arcane Crystal on the circle of power infront of the statue near that gate. You know, writing this made me realise how clunky that whole sequence is. I will have to change that.

Thank you for all your ideas, @AssasinRiper386, but I've pretty much already finished updating the techtree and the heroes. I will say though, there will be a new chapter.

I signed up for a Hive account just to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed this campaign. Now, I'm an Alliance player in WoW. Don't care much for blood elves, really...but this campaign was masterfully done. Only encountered one tiny glitch (the golom parts quest) but it was easily overlooked. I especially enjoyed the GLaDOS and Lord Richard easter eggs.

Well done.

In the chapter that required you gather schematics to the Arcane Golems, apparently if you try to collect the schematics with a hero that already has full inventory, the quest won't complete properly. Either that, or I collected them in the wrong order. Or perhaps it was a combination of the two situations. I didn't run through and troubleshoot it. Sorry.

Have you, by chance, ever considered doing an Arthas redemption campaign?

Ah, you can't collect them at all if you have a full inventory. And there is no wrong order, the schematics update properly however you collect them.

And no, I don't plan to do that.

Hello!

I've tried this campaign. The mapping, storytelling and mechanics are awesome (the spookiness of mission 8 dungeon is on point) but one big detail ruins everything: IT'S INSANELY DIFFICULT. The predeployed units missions are rather easy but those with a base are a nightmare. I was blocked as soon as mission 4. The green base is putting too much pressure on mine and I can't destroy it even with a 100/100 army thrown at it so I just lose by running out of ressources (not to mention I have to spend them resisting the AI attacks every 30 seconds). My anus' diameter increased by 5cm after having tried this campaign. I still whosyourdaddy'd my way to the end just to discover what it had to offer, each time hoping it would get smoother as I get better units but no.

I know it might sound like a detail for an otherwise well done campaign but the difficulty really ruins the fun. This campaign should be nerfed or at least have a modulable difficulty level.

I'm also not a fan for using new model for units that already exist. I prefer the original models but I suppose this is a matter of taste.

(Also the subscription process of this website is a nightmare. I spent 10 minutes on it... Very long captcha + form that clears itself whenever there's a single mistake)

Glad you liked the campaign. As for the difficulty... I kind of disagree that it's too difficulty, I've always tried my best to balance it out how I think it should be, and a lot of people have said they like the difficulty, and I've personally never really found it too difficult. However, a few people have also said it should be easier, so, hmm... I think you are right, I should add multiple difficulties. I just never really got around to it, but at this point I don't think there is anything else I want to change in the campaign, so it should not be too challenging to add this, but I will do it after I finish Curse of the Forsaken v3.0.

Now I think I should add an easier difficulty, and an even more insane difficulty!

You need to turn on subtitles in the game's options. The dialogues will then show up.

Hi Hive-mind. Does anyone have a fixed version of this for Mac? I'm not really tech savvy and I can't download the software to make the fixes myself. If anyone has this and would able to make the download available through this website, that would be great! Or if you can direct me to a place where I can do it, that would be much appreciated x

With the most recent patch I believe the icon crashes are supposed to be fixed, "supposed to be" being the key phrase.

Fantastic campaign! Each mission felt like it could stand on its own in terms of story and gameplay. Everything felt very polished and complete. Some missions were quite challenging, but I never felt hopeless. I'm currently showcasing my playthrough on my YouTube channel.

Not sure if the Black Temple mission is too hard or I'm just a noob. I can barely make it through their attack. Fel orc and Naga were already broken af in TFT campaign

It is pretty hard, perhaps even a bit too much. I intend to do more work on balancing and difficulty sometime soon in the future.

Fantastic campaign! Each mission felt like it could stand on its own in terms of story and gameplay. Everything felt very polished and complete. Some missions were quite challenging, but I never felt hopeless. I'm currently showcasing my playthrough on my YouTube channel.

A major update is planned after Curse 3.0 is done. Maybe not 4.0 but major changes were hinted

I plan to just do some changes to correspond with CotF v3.0's updates, like multiple difficulties, some Forsaken techtree changes, stuff like that. Nothing major.

When Sylvanus, Kael and Alessandra wherein the caves and in the bottom right where you fight spiders for some reason my men couldn't go through though they could attack
had to save and load a few times before it started working.

That's not really a bug, just a bad decision on my part. Basically I made it so the players can't go there because I wanted them to see the cinematic at the door first. I need to come up with a better solution for that.
