I intend to buy Starcraft II within the first few weeks of it's release and begin modding it immediately. I hope to see some Condemned Entertainment mods several months after that. It will take the Sc2 Modding Community awhile to design proper icon layer tools, model editing programs, viewers, and such. Once that is all figured out I should be gone from Warcraft III for the most part.

i'll switch to SC2 too :p to practice modding ofc :)
because they will use the same engine for WC4

We will be simulating raids similar to how we'll be doing parties/groups. Once you've invited four people into your group, making it full, then next person you decide to invite will ask you if you want to form a raid group and invite that extra person. Once you've invited him and the raid is formed, you can now add enough people to your raid to add up to 40 members. Though this sounds like a lot and will make it easy to overpower yourself and your group, members in raid groups only get 4 experience points per kill, whereas you would get at least 40, 60, 100, or whatever experience points when killing outside of a raid group. Raids cannot get good loot either, unless in the proper PvE instance.

Although the PvE aspects of a raid is bad, a full raid has a lot of good PvP potential as well. Ganking, raiding towns and cities, and simply exploring the world with 39 other characters at your side make the whole experience of playing greater, but of course there is a slight toll when attacking hostile towns and cities. Honor, which is achieved by killing other players/player-bots, is reduced and there will be 40 guards, plus the ones already guarding the town/city, to fight you and your raid off. What makes this so difficult is that the everyone eventually becomes confused on who they should attack and the guards and the hostile player-bots will overcome your massing raiding army, making the raid a failure in the end, unless you and your raid flee before everyone is wiped out.

Lol, sounds like a lot of fun with raiding :D I love the fact that you can pick up AI around the map and gather as much as 40 people x)

But of couse, if you have the AI script, then why not just add a thousan bots..

Also is there a friendlist or something similar, so if there is some bot with some gear you like, can you then add him as friend and invite him in a later game? So I don't have to look for a good Healer Tanker and so on every time..

ive tried this in a little wOw map i was creating.

its not easy controlling alot of people, but it definetly is fun.

one thing i dont get it: why would you make the drops suck in raids?
there wouldn't be a point in playing a raid in a dungeon if the drops suck.

unless u meant raid as in a faction raid... i wouldn't expect drops in a faction raid...only a dungeon raid.

Are Trades still planned to be in? (I think so, quoting hawkwing its a 100% remake) And if so how will they work in WC3.

I wouldn't agree that this is a 100% remake. In fact, it's hardly an 80% remake. The scaling of the world is reduced and some of the game is twisted or modified to be different. It's actually totally impossible to recreate World of Warcraft totally with the WarCraft III engine. Although this is true, we'll go as far as we can to make it as best as we can for you and the engine we're using.

Trading items is something that will be pretty difficult. Giving bots the common sense to know if trading a legendary item is a good or bad deal to trade for a stack of linen is a lot more complicated than you would think. However, when the time comes and when the relevance of this system is greater, we'll approach it.

I just have a minor brainwave about pets :D

1. Add an extra attachment point to ALL hero models called 'Pet' or whatever. Place it some distance behind them, and make sure that it doesn't move except during the move, death and dissipate anims
2. Create fully animated pet modulz, and attach them to the heroes! Attachments play the same animation as the thing they're attached to, right? Then you could turn pets into items with little benefits and everything, and they'd mimic their holder/owner.

That's not really how pets work in World of WarCraft. Pets work similar to how they Mercenaries work in Diablo II. They follow you around and help kill stuff, but are more controlled by you and dependent. For example, if you're a Hunter, you rely on your pet to take most of the hits while you give the target hell. Making the pet equivallent to the character you are playing would make classes with pets overpowered.

It wouldn't be able to move toward the enemy units and attack then.

Trading is difficult, complex, and too small all at the same time to be bothered with.

~Craka_J

Can't you just give each item a value on how good it is, so for example a level 10 helmet got the value 120, and some epic level 60 item got the value 8000 so if your total trade value is higher than the NPC and the item is for hes class and he dos't has it already he will agree.. This can also be used when bots loot items and see if they are better than hes own gear..

I just woke up after a hard night, so forgive me if I'm totaly wrong

Well, it'd take a few years to make the AI perfect. Making the AI basically like a real player or at least convincing enough to be a real player would take probably a year to do, but another two or more years to make it as perfect as we could.

Like trades from real life like builder, plumber and sparky. But trades in WoW are blacksmithing, enchanting and jewel crafting.

Trading is when you trade items with people.

O0oOoh! You mean Trades as in Trade Skills (Professions) lol I'm sorry for me and Hawkwing's misunderstanding what you were talking about.

Professions will be included, yes. Right now it's not really a priority (Crazy, I know, to leave something that big out) because it's just too much to deal with right now. They'll definitely be in the Open BETA, but getting them to function properly is going to be a real tough one.
