Even though I talk alot of shit about Lirch, a computer bot which doesnt exist, I think you posting this thread about Lirch sending a link to the forums is actually you being a hater that Pyritie has bot and you dont. Now, let me break this down to you, Haters are people who dont have happy lives and need to bother other people or start shit, like you are now, to make them feel all big, which will make them happy. And your not gona get your way tuff guy, cause everybodys voting nothing should be changed. You need to go ahead and make your life a bit better and stop bothering others about bull shit.

I've never seen Lirch yet, so I'm sure I've got a lot to look forward to, but from what I've been told, he's not endorsed by the site. Thus, I believe that the same rules about 'advertising' should apply to Lirch as it does to any other user.

Why is he, Pyritie? It just sounds like a project you have developed in your spare time, so far. Albeit my ignorance and newness prevents me from knowing the full story, but if I developed a chat bot in my spare time, would it be a special case too?

Got permission from Ralle.

Lirch doesnt advertise anything, and if he posted links to stuff from the forums... wouldnt that indicate hes advertising the hive workshop? if anything...

Umm.. guys.. calm down a bit.
Reading the previous pages gives me the imprssion that this discussion is slowly becoming a flamewar and we don't want that, do we?

So please, stay objective towards the bunch of data called Lirch and vote for your point of view (or don't but in any case, I'd dislike seeing more useless posts which heat up the situation) ^.^

Well, everyone's entitled to an opinion, Avator.

And did you get specific permission to advertise, Pyritie? I don't mean this nastily, please don't think like that, I just simply find it strange that a webmaster would allow your chatbot to advertise your project, whilst nobody else is allowed to advertise their project, if you understand what I mean?

He has been advertising Py's archived hosted forums. So please, don't post anymore if you don't know what you're posting about NoAmmySorry.

I'm guessing you didn't even look at the thread? The only reason it was in that forum was because I have mod powers there. If I was a Site Discussion mod then by all means I would've posted it here.

When the first award icons poll (that I put in that forum) was done, I closed it and moved it to SD.

Like I've said several times in this thread before - I don't see the problem in advertising it because it was for a hive-related subject that I wanted people to vote on. (That topic being award icons)

Wow, wtf did I do to you. I demand you smoke weed and chill out. From what I read, which was page 1-3 (I couldnt read more then that) he sent links to stuff from the hive. W.e, idc. Hes not actually hurting anyone, if people dont like lirch they can mute him or w.e. And you dont noe that you dont noe stuff that everyone else might noe, so that means you a hypocrite by telling me not to post. Default win.

We all advertise our own projects by sending links in the chat and people click them, so doesnt that mean... were all advertising ... are we all being controlled by the system and not being able to decide for ourselves what to do... hmmm.....

You seriously have to quit posting stuff like 'I demand you smoke weed and chill out'. You are definitely not cool and you're only keeping this thread of the read subject. Again, you've posted something that's been discussed before, so if you like demands, I demand you read the previous posts carefully before posting something again.

@Py: You already said that, but that's not much of a reason. You don't need moderator powers to post a thread, you can do that anywhere else.

I vote no because

1) Pyritie already have permission from Ralle before he have Lirch.
2) Lirch is a bot that greet you only once, it doesn't spam.
3) The advertising rules clearly say "Do not advertise things that are not related to Warcraft III on this site.", then again Pyritie hosted forum are wc3 related and not promoting any site either.

Oh Im sorry that you dont think I am "cool" I didnt noe there were a set of rules to being cool. What is cool? Hip? Popular? Bro this is the frikin internet idk about you but I have a godam life, and its not hiveworkshop. And you were wrong to say what you did to me before because Py said the same shit, that it was stuff from the hive, so idk why you have the need to get all your anger out on me? Mommy did not love you enough, you never knew daddy? Idc, and idc. Im defently ending my posts in this thread so I dont get banned again, but you need to chill out with that anger. Seriously.

I need it if I want to make a new thread if I screw up the poll on the first one or if I want to close it when the poll's over, etc.

/ignore Lirch ?

Your ignorelist is cleared every time you rejoin chat. /permaignore would presumably make previously ignored users stay ignored.

Thus I support this /permaignore to be added in the chat, so both lirchtards and lirch-haters can be happy.

I'm aware that a similar function is featured in Poot's Chat Client, thus I'm using this software instead. But I still support the /permaignore feature for the sake of those lirch-haters which don't have access to this lovely client.

i dont see what is so annoying about the lirch bot. its one bloody automated message for one person, taking up one line. how bad could it be?

Yeah, I gonna agree here. Lirch is a part of HWS and he/it should stay.

Edit:
Why on Earth would you want to remove Spambot from chat?
Gonna agree to this too. Don't the admins have better things to do, as for example,
the new patch?

Although I voted yes, I agree that people that get annoyed because of Lirch are butthurt.
I just voted for yes cause I don't care about it...
Dude,

That was completly no-sense..

Like already told, if you don't care, you would vote for no, that is no change,
or simply nothing.

Btw, add an option:

- Only sex.

That doesn't make sense, but looks pretty cool imho.

Edit: Oh yeah, avator, my opinion does not fit to the topic, right?
only the last was a joke. Goddamn, relax.

There are more users that think something should be changed instead of just leaving things as they are, so should we all (try) and work with pyritie to decide what we should do?

En_Fuego, wrong.
36 (nothing should be changed) < 43 (something should change)
but the point of the poll is to choose 1 option, so 'nothing should be changed' wins, since the 'something should be changed' is clustered in 3.

Nope.

The Permaignore option should be nulled, as it can be voted on by both sides equally.

Yes, I hate Lirch and permaignore should be added.
No, I like Lirch but permaignore should be added anyway.

The other option has nothing to do with removing Lirch. It just says he shouldn't be allowed to advertise, which he WASN'T doing. Even if he was advertising, it was NOT against Site Policy. Therefore I find no problem. Of course, Avator will find something to argue with since he hates Lirch so much for absolutely no reason at all.

I wouldn't mind if they added a perma-ignore to the chat, but that has nothing to do with Lirch. I like the bot so En_Fuego's second option kinda counts for me.

If advertising isn't against the rules then I don't mind. If it is against the rules then those rules should count for the bot too.

I wouldn't consider greeting new users spam compared to some other things being done on the chat :p

Just leave Lirch as is.

It is, but by advertising they mean linking to other websites that aren't affiliated with the Hive.

Py simply linked to a thread that was about an important issue. Something that makes sense to me, personally.

Nono, you've read it wrong. I said more people want Lirch changed, not that more people want Lirch to go. I quite like Lirch, in a quirky sort of way. :)

Permaignore's a different topic altogether, and thus anyone that voted for a permaignore command in this thread can be concluded that they would like to use it because of Lirch. After all, we are keeping on the same topic of conversation -- remember Grice's Maxims.

And as for advertising? If Pyritie can advertise his product through Lirch, I want a separate account to advertise my product through, too. It's only fair. The site (through the gold bar in chat) does enough advertising for hosted maps as is. I have no issue with Pyritie linking to his product via his main account, however.

Well, maybe rules should be set -- or publicised, if they already exist -- for Lirch, then we probably wouldn't be in this mess to start with :)
