Joining the Texturing Contests - A decade too late!

Well, seeing how I'm actually continuing to doodle, I might as well post the progress here. Updating the main post as soon as #31 has concluded.

Almost done. Very minor changes and barely visible; which is a sign that it's either time to stop or start remaking things that you aren't happy with instead. Tried to add a gradient Team Color from the hair, but I just can't get it to look good. It just turns into a blob instead. And I have to go back a few steps and export the portrait model as well. Forgot that the portrait model isn't the same as the in game one, so it's a bit scuffed at the moment.

I know there's a bunch of places to improve, but my smooth brain after all these years of inactivity really can't muster much more than this.

I guess this counts as the first WIP.

I'm not going to berate Cavman for really strange unwraps dating back to the late 00's, but it sure is strange. Heck, the entire model is a tad bit confusing upon closer inspection. But that's nothing new when it comes to WC3 and old models.

And I realized that I've never painted fur before, so I've no idea how that's going to turn out, or if just flat shading it will be enough to sell the illusion. And I've no idea what to do with the TC, I'll probably just let the hair act as a gradient or something.

And don't ask me what the heck is going on with the arm and leg wraps, I just needed something to break up the monotony with.

This has been silent for a while now. Wish I had something to post, but alas, I do not. Just updated the OP again, tried to clean up some more links (it's tedious and boring to re-find the correct tags for every post and what not, lol). I might be six months late, but congrats to the latest winners! ^^

Well, this has been dead a long time again and I got bored. Again. So it's time to wake the dead again. Or bring out yer dead, was it? Hope everyone is doing alright, or as good as anyone can these days.

Found this doodle when I installed 3D Coat again, and now I kinda want to finish it. I guess the doodle post counts as a first WIP. I feel even more out of shape now than when I last cast necromancy on this thread, had to re-learn a lot of ancient stuff that is barely googleable these days. But hey, here we are and I wish I had spent some time learning Blender instead, seeing how everything is possible there these days. Seriously, if you want to pixel paint, learn some basic Blender. But I'm ancient and too lazy for that.

Slow progress and I think it might be too vibrant, even if I really love the WOW Vanilla variant that I posted back in 2023. And the "belly armor plate" "has" to be there to hide a part of the looping texture that just annoys me. But it kinda works. Sorta? Would prefer it to be bare however.

And the hands are so strange, they don't really share the exact same texture space, but almost? Looks okay from the angle posted here, but in engine it just looks all kind of wack. But hiding them with will have to do.
