"the last year" lol
Nah, the new resources just take longer to make and I have been visiting my mother since a couple weeks ago.
I'm working on a new wc3 project too.

Could you please share some of your work? I want to keep up the hype and picture my map with the new stuff. Could you for example upload a few screenshots or only one and maybe make a small list that you are working on/been working on/finished.

Sure, I will be back on 8th I will post some pics then.
I have been remaking most of the old models that look a bit too crappy now.
Notably walls/foundations new roofs and stuff like that.
Also some props that I didn't actually make before.

Eventually, yes though they aren't very high on the priority list. If anything they may get updated textures to better match the new models.

The new pack will also contain more thematic models with more emphasis on fantasy elements and so on.
Since I'm working on a new mod some of that may rub off onto S&S. (such as some magical/steampunky/dark props and/or environments)
The new assets are also a little more modular in how they work.

Hello, I'm back scrubs.

These are some of what the new set will look like.
I didn't start texturing yet since the new models use texture atlases rather than lots of small tileable textures.

Among the new models are overhauled walls and foundations as well as some models that I didn't release in the first place such as stairs and chimneys.
The new models are more modular and attach better. In corners and such because I didn't like how the old models overlapped.
The new models are also designed to stack better so you can make platforms and what not.

The new sets are stone bricks, red clay bricks, as well as wood+plaster and brick+plaster.
The roofs are also different and stack better, I will post that in a bit.

There be chimneys too ! Which are also stackable and have sections so you can make them as tall as you want.

What do you think about them nails ? Lol, I thought it would add some extra small detail but it could also just be in the texture. Undecided on that.

The new roof shingles come with their own beams and in two variants, one is wooden and one is clay.

Seems pretty damn nice, but on that foundation, how big of a model is 1 foundation block? Also, will we have a separate stand alone "brick" model so we can e.g. customize the foundations or make some brick pile if we want?

You can see the brick foundation model behind the small structure on the first pic.
The foundation is 2 pieces wide and 3 pieces long, or it's square now I don't remember lol. I just cobbled it together to show how the new models would be used.
I suppose I can make a separate model of the brick sure.

There is also one from stone bricks, which is similar but slightly more irregular.
The new foundations are done in a way that you can easily "puzzle" them together and they are two sided so that you can make small walls out of them too or whatever.

Nice house you have made there :)
Man it always hurts me seeing the tree you have put next to the house, such a failed model.
I promise the new foliage will look better lol.

Also I realized a lot of people don't actually know about the pack given many just use the hive database so I will upload a couple of samples there just to point people into the thread once the new pack comes out.

I actually really like your tree models. I think they're some of the most realistic style of tree going, that doesn't destroy the filesize of the map. Also, it may be worth creating a map called something like, Sword & Shield Overhaul, which contains all models. I had to manually do it, didn't bother me one bit, it just might save some people a bit of time. Either way, great job.

Yeah I never thought about that.
A bit too lazy to do that with the old packs but I can do so with the new one.

I have received a surprising amount of sales through these past two months (probably due to holidays and what not) which motivated me into being a little more productive.
Though I'm currently messing around with my website trying to make it look less.. unprofessional lol (since I suck rats ass at web development trying to shove the mess under some competent web art)
it is likely I will also post some other models here that I'm making outside of this project.
They probably may not fit the rest of the content on here ... but you know whatever lol.

Yes.
The first pack will be releasing next week (hopefully) on unity for $10.
Just joking, the wc3 version will be free.

Since the thread is going to host more different packs now I thought a less specific name is appropriate.
And since it is the name of my online brand it will help with SEO too. (kek)

If you mean Might & Honor then that is the name for the new asset line, Stone & Sword was a little awkward I think and S&S 2 would be even more awkward lol.
That is the name the assets are going to be sold under on Unity/Unreal so once again better to have it the same for SEO.

As far as the first pack goes it will be the Trapper's Camp, the structure models I have shown before are still in development.
The format is going to be a little different than it used to be since Unity is the priority it is going to be formatted in a way that makes more sense over there.
In other words, there is no longer going to be packages strictly split into structures/props/environments but instead there will be a themed pack that may contain some structure pieces, props, plants or even items.

I will, eventually just clump it the way it was (or simply add everything into one big download that will grow over time) but since that is the order I'm making the models in I may as well release them like that so you can start testing them.

By the way, if you remember the old trees being all weird and shit.
The new ones will have proper normals depending on the shape of the tree, I just hope it exports correctly.

Now... as you turn the models and textures over to Warcraft, would it be possible to name the files so that we only need to delete the "importedwarcraft..." line from e.g. the texture replacement file and that they will work then?

Also, overall the naming of the models is really important. I have having models named so that I have no idea which block or variation they actually are.

That looks quite nice.

Might I ask, what will next week's pack contain? I cannot wait ^_^

Well, yes of course.
They will be just like they have been uptil now e.g textures without wc3imported/ and HFT/HFM at the start of the name where HFT stands for the texture and HFM for the model names.

The next week's pack will contain mostly models that I haven't released before such as tents, fire pits, racks, bed rolls and some small environment models like rocks branches and firewood.
I know it is random lol, but small packs like these will come out every two weeks or so.
The bigger pack needs some work still.

Good news Talavaj! I'm expecting your new pack :D

Also, these days I was checking your Modular Shire pack and there were too many models and textures (200+) and that was tiring to check with War3ModelEditor.

So I made a map to showcase them better. As you might find it useful, I'm uploading it here so you can add it to the compressed file of the pack if you want. The doodads are named after the models and I think I missed some snow variations of the models, sorry (they were too many :p).

Cheers ! Glad you found it.
Might be worth sticking around, the new pack is going to contain more medieval models.
Though this time they are going to be inspired more by Witcher 3 and Kingdom Come rather than Skyrim.

Also I will probably have to push this week's release until the next one.
We have got this little bugger on sunday last week and his maintenance wastes a lot of my time lol.

Feels good for quality, but how's the filesize of each piece of MnH? and how many stuffs are included in the MnH pack? Just... curious :)

Anyway, any chances that you'll make Asian set Tal?, pretty sure i mentioned that before but you probably did'nt notice it.

Oh and for the asian stuff, i mean pagoda roofs and walls are enough. This is not a request but a suggestion. :)

500~550 kb 512p full
330~360 kb 512p full optimized
100~120 kb 256p optimized
50~60 kb 128p optimized
In kilobites per model, smaller models start at 256p though.
The textures will no longer be shared by multiple models.

MnH is going to be episodic, so there is going to be models until I get tired of making them I guess ? Lol.
About 10 per update each week or two, with gaps while I work on other stuff.
There may be updates with more models when I make a bigger themed pack for unity.

As for the asian stuff, I will think about it. But it is more likely I would make it closer to how S&S was like.
In style, size and quality I mean.
