Goblin's tale!

Hey there, it's been awhile.. due to school. lake of motivation and life problems I haven,t worked on Goblin's Tale for a good 3 months..

But.. i'm just saying.. IT'S BACK! :D it slept well! now it's time to finish this game :D
 
Hahaha I failed again on being active for Goblin's Tale.. I've been working since than on an other project made by Bloodlust Studio, leaded by the well known Linaze.

I've been his main artist and i'm is terrainer too.. and this mah friend will be much better than goblin's Tale if we keep working like we are since the past 3 weeks.

I invite you to take a look at our new project Lok'Tar Ogar , i'm affraid to say goblin's tale will go back to sleep for a long long time.. (until the campaign is pretty much done). But hey!, it's not like you'ved missed something :D the beta isn't even release! hehe.. on that

Exactly, Murlocs are stupid, which makes the gameplay boring. Who wants to fight against a peasant (who is the default stupid unit to test your spells on)?

Yes, but all of them are really ugly. Seriously, the Murlocs are of the lowest quality in the Warcraft III engine = a new ruining twist in your promising project. I really don't know how a guy like you, with great experience in aesthetics (2-d art works and stuff like that) can't realize that Murlocs are simply dull/bland/boring. Anyone has experienced them already, why don't you add something more original? I mean, nearly 10 years of modding Warcraft; this model is so known and overused.

I understand your point.. but I really want the murlocs.. there's no way i'm going to change them.

Also this is a Hero defense game, with small RPG features..
 
I know you do, it's your project anyway, but it will be public-shared, so you should be less stubborn (with the good meaning of the word, not to offend you) and look up what public wants the most. So, I have nothing more to say than Good luck with the project :)

and concerning the share to the public you are right.. but I won't change the murloc until I release the beta and I have a 75% of members that tells me to change it :P

but concerning the items and hero spells etc.. I'm all open for your suggestions..
 
New item revealed.

This small pie, is the only meal Big Tim will sell. made out of a secret Ogre recipe.. this pie won't be made often in game. since it will make your hero grow bigger of 5% each time he eats it. But, only each 30 min the pie could be bought from Big Tim.

Edit 2 = New item revealed again.
Spell book used by the Loarderun's paladin, this magic object strangly got into the hand of Wako Ali for unknown reasons. When activated, this book will burst a massive shock wave around him, healing all the allis close to the holder.

I think he already knows that, I've seen him type it right in another post

this idea is very nice, I love goblins, and murlocs are good enemies for them, about the same height and such, I'm thinking it'll be a tropical terrain, with lot's of water, either way, you went very much in detail with your description, and I love it, hope you will finish it, cause I'll be sure to play it, +rep for this idea, and all the work you already put into it
 
Oh right.. for those you doesn't know the general look of Goblin's Tale map.. since I removed the terrain (yes i'm remaking it) here's a few reference pic of the old terrain.

The theme will be the same, same look, same fealing, will use the same doodads.
It's just the structure of the terrain is really bad right now for a Hero Defense type of map.
I have to make a bigger open space in the village for the figthing, I have to reduce the shrub spam I created, I have to change the general structure of the village, so that way we fight on the ground and not in the air (because to get to the village you have to go by rope bridges.

anyway.. look at the first post to see the screenshots.

High Elf Magic Orb = This orb when putted on the ground, will give mana regeneration to everybody around it, for a few seconds.

The Orb - you stated it to be "High Elven" yet it's red, really unfitting. So it should either be blue or renamed to something like "Blood Elven Magic Orb" or "Blood Elf Magic Orb" or something.

well the name was supposed to be Blood Elf Magic Orb, but I decided it would be more logic if this map happened after the second war. so Before the Scourge arrivial. So bloodelf therms weren't yet used.

but yeah, perhaps will make it blue or teal instead.

Me and Pharaon are working on it. Because back than, me and zeverens wrote down all the spells concepts. But I decided they could be better... so the spells won't be revealed for a while. But the items will be.

She's Bobby Crazy eye's turtle (his ship)... and later one, since the village is an island, each player will be able to buy a giant sea turtle, as mount, and go discover the sea... and go on other island.

AND THAT! I shall have the copyrights for that.. so no copying! :>

also.. I will include a zeppeling in the new terrain, that will bring you to diffrent islands. Still have to think of the general structure of the map yet. anyway.

This is a good Idea, but If I do include him he won't be part of the village, he will be a hidded marchent on an other island. (Inded, there will be other merchant on other island, that's the point to discover :D)

For the new classes, there will be new ones, but after the beta release, the 6 starting classes are for the beta, later on, it might go up around 10 classes.

Thanks mate, but this will not be the final terrain, the new terrain will be 2 times bigger, with possibilitys to go around and travel to other island.

Well I wanted to work on it alot this week-end. but I ended going at 2 partys. and didn't made any homework.

So.. it will have to wait abit for any significant report ^^

and about the beta, I don't want to give any dates.. since I already droped that project twice in the past.

Edit = Making nice tittles for the thread presentation now. :D
