Man Ralle "Hail The Hive!" makes it sound kind of cult doesn't it, Is there some super awesome world taking plan you guys left me out of. :p
(by number of pending resources)

Ha in the time I've been here we've always have had massive numbers of pending resources, Usually we just hire some new mods whom are happy and will do anything and they'll review them all and then in a couple months they get bored and leave.

This makes me kinda sad. I've been around for years, back when wc3sear was tiny, and now all those people I've made friends with(or atleast non-hostile aquaintances) are disapearing. I don't wanna be mean, but In only recognize only about 4 of the posters in here.
Oh well, perhaps some one new will come in that is cool..
damn I'm old...

Well, good luck to the hive. I will still contribute here with my cinematic help and JASS help (+ WE help etc.)

Many people leave, but yeah, that is life. Because life is more important than Warcraft. :p

I seriously want to see a test where a map-player addict becomes a map moderator, and see how long it takes before he gets bored. xP

It is a shame to see great users go away, I hope more people will fill in their places. And hopefully competent ones...

P.S. How did I lose my modship? xD (I can still moderate the cine-forum though)

Py ,you are a very active member, why dont you take a modding position?
Most of us are active and some of us are good moderators, but come to think of it.If all the Hive active members would be mods, then Hive would be only a moderator community, thats the first risk.

And personally ,I dont even want to be a mod,I love too much being a Peon.

It isn't the number of people as far as mods go, its the quality and experiance. Better to have 1 good and experianced mod than 5 unexperiance "don't-know-how" mods.

Some may agree with me and others won't. This is just my opinion.

Yes , you are right about this , but they weren't the only good people in the world ? And it's expirience , not expiriance :D .

Ya, but mods is also made according to their abilities. So if what pyritie can aint needed as mod then not much can be done.

Anyway as other said do tell if I can be of any help.

The hive will never die :spell_breaker:

I made something that is a tribute to Hive

hive.gif
Is a place where you learn
hive.gif
Is the place where experience you earn
hive.gif
Is the place where models we have
Leaving the
hive.gif
is considered bad

There are alot of moderators out there. Doesnt seem like theres much of a problem in that department. From what I have seen most of them are quite active. But in some places if a mod goes inactive for a while then that section sort of shuts down. Maybe some of the other mods could sometimes act as substitute mods for the duration of another mods inactivity.

To me the Old Hive died with the Merge. The Hive will die again, but that doesn't mean it wont be reborn.

All of my friends are either leaving or have left already. I have few friendly acquaintances left at the Hive. Those that I despise seem to find ways to hang on to power like their lives depend on it.

But, new users will come, new Staff will join the ranks, and perhaps in the future, things wont be so bad as they are now.

mhm brad is right, its like that with every online community it's like life too, the next generation brings a new and different feel but not necessarily a bad one, and although many old wise and experienced people die off there are still those who hang around.

I Woudn't Be Surprised Why People Would Not...

I woudn't be surprised why people would not be coming to the hiveworkshop as much. Well just with the economy and such, you should be thinking about what your doing in real life, rather than fun-game-email-hiveworkshop stuff. With high price gases, and expensive stuff right now, I'd be more concerned about my life than this War3 modding site.

I just read the first page about some argument. I still don't really get how you can get into a arguement about a person's opinion whether a account is a Bot... and if he has troubles right now, you should be concerned that he should take care of them as a first-first-top priority, rather than coming here constanstly.

:carr: If you honestly get really-really upset about this post, or about disrespect, you might wana get a life in the real world, rather than games. Seriously...

yeah besides the problem isn't really that people leaving the hive for real life, that's perfectly understandable. it's that they are leaving for other modding sites, actually it's not really important why people are leaving or where they are going, only what do we need to do to keep things afloat, if anything at all

... no need to be mean, it's called respect, maybe people should stop bugging people because thos epeople are a bit sentimental or just want to be nice and show some support.

But still the real issue still here is what is going to be done about this... paying tribute to the Hive isn't overwhelmingly helpfulnot to discredit people

Meh, Sorry

Ok... Sorry about my last post, I have the tendency to ussally do bad posts in the beggninng (I don't normally think the first time). But a seeing a few moderators should be normal since people come and go, and I'm extremely sure that are alot of wannabe moderators out their. So that shouldn't be a problem...

So... Hail the Hive to Glory and Fortune!

The Hive is slowly becoming like The Helper. We are being overrun by noobs with no sense, and this is causing the veteran members, who are at least mildly intelligent, to leave. Thus, the noob legions can never be combatted fully.

And it's been more than a few Mods leaving. Ragingspeedhorn, Mini-Me, Earth-Fury, HappyTauren, Shados, Captain Griffen, and HINDYhat have all resigned from the Hive at some point because of the influx of noobs. It's rediculous.

It doesn't help that many of them no longer agree with the decisions being made by the Admins.

We currently have 5 Administrators. Only 2 of them are active. We have three Global Mod's. 1 of them is active once in a blue moon, another is active rarely, and the third is resigning.

This may be no cause for alarm, but it gives you some idea of how things are within the ranks. This is not to say it can't be fixed, it will I presume, but right now, things are not doing very good for the Hive. As a Moderator, I suppose I should be all morality and tell you some BS about how we're undergoing some changes, but as a person I wouldn't want to be fed that crap, so I don't.

Like I said, just because things are bad now, doesn't mean the world is going to end. The Hive will be back on top soon enough.

As much as I love doing this, agreeding with Brad this time isnt pleasing.

Ah THP is a pit where rejected members are gave a second chance and when it comes to experience and High-Tech ,we are always on top.

And I want you to clearly read this, but very clear:

-Have you ever read the rules?
-Have you ever voted for Hive since you registered?
-We have an Admin-Contact section,if you are in member-depression or confused, ask an admin.

And when it comes to the Introduction forums,I see only new members, and who is posting? New members who introduce newer members. The moderators forgot that forum, well some of them.

And when it comes to ''noobs'' I guess you dont mean the person that you and I and Ralle once were? You just need some patience, thats all.

But,I dont want to be a mod,why?
I dont want that futurely on,if I apply the rules and neg rep someone, that person will consider me power-hungry and thinks that I'm persecutting him.But he doesent know the rules because the early mods didnt urged members to read them.

So brad,am I right? You ,one of the strongest mods, should know better

The only way to fix situation is to punish all idiots. Seriously. People need to learn how the internet works. You don't DEMAND. You search for what you need, and after a really long search, ask a question. I hate how people enter the chat, ask a stupid question and then go "OMFG U IGNORING ME1!/!!!". I don't get how the one feels ignored when he/she IS IGNORANT. This was a word play, but seriously, there is common sense behind it. Then, after that, people with at least some bits of experience DO NOT worship naruto maps. I mean, it is not like naruto is awesome or something. I've seen few episodes of it and took brain damage. It is even worse than DBZ. In past, people were making DBZ maps, now they make naruto maps. I sincirelly hope that some really GOOD kickass anime will come out (the chances for that are probably 0%) so it would kill those two. I am just sick and tired of it. And stupid questions... Today some guy came to chat and spammed it with "HWO DI I GETZ HERO LVL 2 BEE MOAR DAN 10?!?!?!?". And it is on the TOP TEN questions here. Just search for it, you will get hundreds of results. As for moderators disagreeing with administrators, the key lies in admins' activity (2 of them are active), and the fact that Ralle barely knows what is going out there at forums. He can't be sure of people ever, since he does loads of scripting for the site, and samuraid also seems to be doing that.

Other than that, Wc3 is getting old, and old moderators simply do not mod it any longer. This is why they are particularily sick of noob questions: they are sick of wc3.

And yes, I am sentimental about the old THW. Heck, back in time, all members knew each other, were helping others learn, I had half the hive on msn. Today the site is full of randoms, and even more, idiots who want to be spoon fed. I just hate when people say "YOU WR A NOOB ONCE LOLOL!!11111!!". That is not right. I was a NEWB, not a NOOB. I was new to all the shit, and guess what, I figured almost everything MYSELF. As brad can tell you, I was totally newb and lost back then. Then I learned loads of stuff, I was probably one of the 1st persons on THW to know just ALL aspects of wc3 modding and do them well. Then I started helping people on THW, even brad, who used to teach me (pupil pwnt master anyone? xD).
That was my ten cents... go read that large block of text :p

And NearbyHermit and the others noob who critique brad, you have right to STFU, as you know nothing of the (g)old THW, and what was it like. Brad is not a person he used to be, I swear to god he isn't. We need more people like Wolverabid (insanely professional) and TheDarkGigantosaur (insanely mature).

I enjoy the hive. I have learned a great deal on the hive. Any question I post on the forums gets a satisfactory answer, and there is a plethora of material in the recourse and tutorials sections. The Hive does not feel dead to me at all. It may be experiencing a decrease in activity, but I don't personally feel the difference.

Ah EmoTauren, take your flamming elsewhere,I wasnt a critique on brad,I was asking about how (g)old Hive was,I know for I was a guest and then in a small period,I registered to what I considered, the best community ever.

We had like few maps pages and were good maps, few members but loving members, even you were a respected person, lay of this naruto-rage otherwise the only Narutard Im seeing is you.

And now you are suppose to say that Im one of them, the Noobs and Tards, and Im a critique to Hive,a bastardly member?

Well for what Ive done in the past, you have all the rights, but I personally learned my lesson and now Im going up.
