Evolution
Contestants will create a creature, then 2 additional evolutions for it

• You cannot vote for yourself. If a voter has the same IP as the author then the vote will not be counted and it may result in the disqualification of the entry.
• You cannot create multiple accounts to vote for an entry in the poll. If a voter has been found to be using multiple accounts none of the voters votes will count in the final result.
• You cannot bribe users for votes. Contestants who break this rule will be disqualified and given negative reputation.

• First Place: 45 reputation points and your entry on an award icon

I been wondering, but thanks to pyritie now know why Berserker has his entry in.. as it at first only seemed like he had the first state of his evolution and nothing else and I wonder why pyritie voted for 8 different entries... To make of for those who had wished to vote for more then one?

Yea I am going to go for:

1 Nightwish.ger

2 jareph

3 MasterStryke

Yea - I of course also considered voting for Enjoy's (a lot) and Dio. But I had to go with what I felt was the neatest.

Nightwirh.ger scares me.. both with the looks, but also with the simple use of color/shadow to create an awesome creature. With a rather natural look to it.

jareph's bees just fit right in, in some obscure way - I can't dislike them. (I would have wished for the queen though, as that would fit bees).

MasterStryke's have those great movements about it and it almost appears like they move. Which is my sole reason for voting them third.

It came down to communist_orc, Dionesiist, and jareph but my final decision is for communist_orc. The fancy border aside, the creature itself is very detailed and drawn with a unique style. The design implements themes of the ocean, such as a diver's helmet and a sunken-ship, all while remaining organic-looking.

This is why communist_orc gets my vote. Good job to the other two I mentioned.

but their work is just awesome, aside of this epic drawskills and anatomy knowledge, the concept is right in place here.. it seems a good evolution, while things are happen and form to other parts, because it's just needed (maybe some environment reasons, some temperature reasons or other stuff)..

some other entries are just curious, good but go away from the theme evolution.. the crabs do look cool, but it just grows up and chooses a bigger house? or some other monster, that just gets more legs or more spikes.. dunno what this should help, and why it's needed to evolve just my thoughts, but still all entries are cool and well drawn! thumbs up! =)

This is the third time in a row I find myself voting for pyramidhe@d...

Anyway, I voted because of the quality of the art itself, but mostly because his is original. Most of the others are just 'start small, get some bigger and more muscelly and get some badass-looking stuff on it, then get even bigger and more muscelly and get even more badass-looking stuff on it.', while Pyramidhe@d actually though it out and made something plausible.

I also liked the crabs.

I saw many entries that appealed to me, but these are what I liked the most (up to my taste):
MasterStryke, communist_orc, jareph, Dionesiist

I'd vote for MasterStryke, but then I saw that in the 3rd evolution, the wings disappear, which is kind of abnormal. I think it should still have wings, bigger and burning; still, since it's a multiple choice-poll, I'll vote for him.

communist_orc's entry is very good also, but not as good as the rest ones.

What I liked in jareph's entry is the 3rd evolution. I should not be blinded by the fact that this is mostly a result of a painting program, I'd stick to the model itself and its anatomy, which reminds me of a Pokemon (I do not remember its name - it's been 8 years now) a bee-type; the head is almost the same.. Again, I'll vote for him.

Dionesiist's entry was spectacular. Great drawing skills, that certainly depicted exactly what Dionesiist wanted to realise. My vote goes for him. It's a great piece of work. If that was also painted, it would be a blind vote, that is why I don't stick to painting skills in programs, rather than drawing skills.

Dio's art was nice. But you guys are missing the "concept" in "concept art". I found dio's concept rather boring tbh. That's why I voted for communist_orc, because his concept was original. Not because he's the best painter that entered.

I'm kinda sad that I'm dead last. Still, I think what matters is that I participated and tried my best, although I'm certain I can do better next time.

I voted for Nightwish's bug, although in retrospect I think I should have voted for Dio's Leviathan.

No, I just hadn't checked it before voting.
After I had already voted, I checked some other entrees...and when I saw Dio's I realized I should have voted for him as well, as I was extremely impressed by his concept.

I liked communist orc's and MasterStryke's entries the most. I liked the originality and execution of communist's entry, crab was an interesting choice and I liked its progression... and masterstrykes entry is just perfectly executed from start to finish... the evolutions make sense and it is well done.

i liked masterstryke's concept, but i didnt quite understand why the creature (darkness) would grow wings in stage 2 but then lose them in stage 3 :/

He descripted the creature as "Expanding before Concentrating". Sort of that.
